- First, I walk around Smouha, a fancy neighborhood in Alexandria, in Egypt, I have a delicious strawberry juice. Then I head to downtown Alexandria, where I find an incredible back street seafood restaurant. There, I fill myself with squid, grilled fish, and shellfish. Finally, I go to the corniche, along the Mediterranean Sea, and I enjoy some lupines while talking to you about the history of Alexandria.

Aslemah. I don't know how to spell it. I lived for 3yrs in Tunisia & went from there to Cairo Egypt. It is wonderful to see someone love this culture as much as I do. Despite what people think I met some amazing people not just in Tunisia & Egypt but from Libya Syria & Gazza. I met a couple on honeymoon in Egypt who had come thro the Rafah tunnel from Gazza. These people are so warm & welcoming. They have so little but share whatever they have. I envy you on your travels.

@@SantaClaus111 It dependes on where exactly you went, Alexandria is 2300 years old on the Mediterranean, so it has been centuries since it was a desert 😂, Cairo is also so big and old.
You definitely went to the wrong places
The fish restaurant you tried is called Hoda Dongol.. Hoda Dongol is the owner who you ate beside him 😊😊 he is so friendly and kind person. I am the supplier of detergents and Vinegar extracted from sugar cane for his restaurant as I also supply food materials and detergents for many restaurants in Alex.
The secret of the tasty calemari is immersing it in the concentrated natural vinegar that I supply 😉

Great video in a great city, Egyptians might annoy you sometimes (with attention and questions) but they always mean love and hospitality and westerner's always misunderstand their real intention.
This is true we ask a lot but only from good intention and happiness to see tourists enjoying visiting our country that's all.

The fried small fish is called "Besarya" it is 1/13th the price of the calamari and in my opinion tastes better.
This fish restaurant is called Houda Doungle in Soutar area. Other Egyptian customers asked for the price and they told them 130 pounds too. They were not trying to rip you off.
This restaurant has a 4 story sitting are behind the cashier. The cashier made you sit next to him because he was concerned other customers would interrupt your meal, like all of these people who say hi and ask about the camera as you walk the streets.

I loved your video where you-tubers aren’t just mocking the politics or poverty related matters but in fact are trying to find the beauty in everything they see.
What a great video that represents the real egyptian hospitality! The cashier / owner was looking after you as if you are his son even that he couldn’t speak your language but his communication surpassed everything.
Also the cook who was giving you tasting bites showed great hospitality that you won’t receive in a 5 star ⭐️ chateau unless your dressed up and show some gold.
Also loved the informative bit about Alexander the Great. Thanks a lot.

I used to eat there every time I go back to Egypt for holiday the restaurant name is Hodaa Adooraa. The guy you was setting next to him he’s the owner 😅 the prices not too bad compare it to other restaurants in Alexandria but the quality of the fish is Top ! 👏🏾

@@nashamorrison3113 its called hooda gondol in azarita its cheap but not the best its better to go to the fish market and get what you want as you can get many items with the quantity you want and they cook it for you fresh in the market

I really recommend for anyone coming to Egypt to have some local friends before they come they will help you a lot to navigate Egypt and have a lot of fun, for example, the man in the fish astronaut was telling him that he can have a collection for all the food in there for 130 pound

They are one of the oldest seafood restaurants in Alexandria and they are one of the best.
