Join paleontologist Ashby Gale as he uncovers teeth from Carcharocles angustidens, shark vertebrae 30 million years old, and loads of other fossils from our blackriver areas!

As always, awesome video Ashby 👍🏻🤠 Love the extra information you give us about your finds 🙂
Thanks for watching and the kind comments! I’m glad you enjoy the extra tidbits...having those with the finds is the best way to experience the thrill of collecting fossils!
It looks like you missed a sand tiger shark tooth at 6:13 in the bottom right corner. Maybe I'm seeing things but that sure does look like a tooth.
Good eye, Micah! I saw that one in post, and laughed at missing it! 😂
Wonder what that semicircular object was at the 12:28 mark, left of center bottom, right of the green leafy looking stuff? Kinda looks like the edge of a coin,
Good eye! That’s the edge of a modern oyster valve that’s partially covered with mud. It certainly does look like a coin! 😂
So fun! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed this one!
Great finds.
Great Video again, Thank you
Hey have you ever been to Isle Of Palms beach in SC and found good shark teeth? I am there right now and want to know if I can find good teeth there...
Yes! There’s material from the Goose Creek Limestone at IOP with fossil shells and other marine vertebrate fossils to be found. Check out our “How to Find Shark Teeth” video for tips on how to search through the shells at IOP. We’ve gotten a good mix of fossil material there!
have you ever found a Chubutensis sharks tooth there big like Megalodon and Angustiden .
Yes we have! There are a fair number of them at the dredge islands around town. But most of our material is from the Oligocene epoch.
Sorry, where did you say this was? Which beach are you at?
Yo, that fish is doing his best to evolve and you keep putting him back "where he belongs". Leave him alone, bro. He can make his own decisions.
Where is this? I wanna go to it
At the 2:10 min mark of your video, if you look in the lower left corner, there is a jaw bone with many teeth on it. Do you know what that could be from?
Good eye! While those appear to be teeth, that’s a small fragment of a stingray spine!
Happy vacation
Thanks! It was a good trip!
That’s awesome
1:13 you can see another tooth on the right side of the screen
At 14:49 I think that chunk of coal distracted you from a tooth, you can see it just below your pinky.
It certainly looks like one! You never know at these sites…they’re so fossiliferous, it’s always a fun game to see how many teeth you missed during video editing. 😂😂
