We Found LOADS of Fossil Sand Dollars, a Crystal Filled GEODE and Shark Teeth on the River Banks!

  • This was a fun multiday hunt, exploring Eocene-Oligocene river banks along a massive river here in Florida! We located tons of different species of echinoids such as sea urchins and sand dollars. There were also a few shark teeth located and an INCREDIBLE geode that was way beyond my expectations. We already can't wait to go back to this area and go even more exploring, possibly including some scuba diving.

Our Pennsylvania Bigfoots actually make chicken and rooster sounds to try to trick you into their traps....we don't fall for that in these mountains. 😉😂

I agree with Donnie Walker, it's good to see the gang back together. I had to laugh though, when Chris talked about how "really old" these fossils are. 35 million years! I live in Michigan. where, as Chris, Brie, and Kyle all know, you can walk down the beach and pick up Devonian fossils. I love the sand dollars though and the other echinoids. Happy Holidays to you all! And be glad you are not in Michigan, lol.

My street actually has some round echinoids very similar to the oligocene ones y’all found towards the end of the video.
There’s a few different species/ ontogenetic stages (I don’t know much about echinoids) and they range in size from like a grain of sand to some of the medium sized ones you found.
It’s neat to see the natural exposures that I assume are similar to where the limestone in the road was collected.
I’ve also found some spines and I think part of a tiny crab just like the piece you found. Mine is just very small and still in matrix.
Always love your videos! Definitely looking forward to seeing what else you find after diving in those spots too!

It will be mated with its other half in about 2 weeks because the PODS crew is off for 3 days during the holidays so we won’t have anything until the 29th. My stepdaughter has the other half in Scranton.
