So you put out this guy, who can not only keep watch for trouble, but respond to it as well, with a big gun with long range. Yep. That's why GW, in their infinite wisdom, put a sniper on a pair of stilts. Yes. it looks f**king stupid.
I'm buying him even though I'm not even done assembling/painting my AdMech combat patrol (my first ever 40k set, woo), and you know why? Because... I think he's neat. Longboi sniper. That's neat.
i think the anti-infantry is passable, since he'll be holding an objective as a lone-op and providing support fire from far away. The anti-vehicle/monster one however.... D3 damage is just not enough to ever rely on I don't think.
My big plan with this guy was running him with omni sterilizer for some more attacks, but they also cut down on that. It’s a shame because as goofy as the model is I actually kinda love him in a goofy way.

I swear who ever used to do most of the writing on Admech between 7th - 9th left the company and who ever is doing it now really does not have a feel for how the army operated prior and they've just redone its whole design philosophy. It Was my favorite army to play, and now they don't even leave the model case. Been playing them none stop since release in 2015, and now they just gather dust.
About what I expected. Decent support character that would be better against infantry over vehicles. Depending on points and enhancements we'll see how playable he is
The Sydonian Skatros is an anti-infantry sniper model who, if left completely alone all game, will kill 41 points of Intercessors. This will only remove 2 models from the board, meaning you're spending 60-70 points to remove... 34 points. His damage output needs to be doubled to even begin making this a viable addition to an army for the purposes of being a sniper. I like the absurdity of the design and I will probably pick up a second hand model at some point to paint, even though I have no interest in building an AdMech army. From a hobby perspective, it's a cool unit. From a tabletop perspective, I hope every opponent I ever play takes it.
The model is fun, I do like it, but it's really missing that grimdark machine body horror to just complete it. Have his face slaved into his scope. Have one arm just be a support for the gun. Where are the masses of wires rather than normal clothes? He just looks a bit too cartoony.

The Omnisteriliser is gone, replaced by something called the Autoclavic Denunciation. Still has anti-monster and anti-infantry, but loses the 3 extra attacks.
Vindicare vs this guy isn't even a competition unless you are playing a lower points game and can only take one assassin and you really want either an eversore or callidus
I don't know if it's still in the new codex but an Omni steriliser buff means 4 shots anti infantry 2+ -2ap 3damgae with precision which as a cheapish sniper is pretty good
did we miss this guy's special rule? i feel like that's where this become bad/good. a special rule to say - provide +1ap to a target or +1BS would make it amazing? (sadly he is looking like he's going to have a once-per-game mortals thing)
I really think this guy should have been a unit of 5 or 10 models and maybe a new character or something that isnt stilts boy. Its a shame GW didnt think the same way.
Maybe theres a way to give him dev wounds. Its not like it would be overpowered. Just a 50% chance to not get a save vs a d3 damage gun woulnt worry most players.

So you put out this guy, who can not only keep watch for trouble, but respond to it as well, with a big gun with long range. Yep. That's why GW, in their infinite wisdom, put a sniper on a pair of stilts. Yes.
it looks f**king stupid.
I love it. I don’t play AdMech but I’d consider buying just this model
if that point value is accurate, it tells me that the assassins is going to get a MASSIVE point increase in jan.
If only this was sydonian/ironstrider hq type....
This model makes Admech fans long for the Heresy Era Mechanicum models
Gw really missed an opportunity to introduce a cool new admech unit
Our modern day snipers could learn from this thing. Stilts are the next level of stealth and infiltration.......
My big plan with this guy was running him with omni sterilizer for some more attacks, but they also cut down on that. It’s a shame because as goofy as the model is I actually kinda love him in a goofy way.
Big stilts man, got nothing to do with the stilts. Would of love Ignores Cover, some kind of spotter feature, heck give him anti air since he's already so high up.
If he had 60 inch range he’d be worth taking
As funny as Rumple-Stilts-Skin is I really wish we got some cooler looking mechanicus. It's an entire cult of cyborgs it can't be that hard.
maybe if they had given him Devastating wounds
Ok, I think I figured out how to use the Skatros properly:
Pay 15 points more and take Vindicare Assasin.
You guys were able to order the Codex? It was all postponed in Australia. There were no pre-orders.
I've pre-ordered mine in Sweden. According to the retailer it will ship on december 9th, so a two-week pre-order.
He doesn’t need to be strong, when he is T A L L
Well, at least he gets all the girls on tinder for being tall … though they are probably all bots by 40k. Though jokes on them as AdMech are fully into bots.
The Maker's Cult - Altus Marksman is a slightly less goofy stl version of this, fyi.
I'm still waiting for an Inspector Gadget conversion of this feller
Love this model.
Model with sufficient brass rod to make it taller than any ruin on the table, take 3 of them and delete any characters off the map.
He'll need to be 40pts to compete with the Vindicare.
admech are been set up to become a darkmech punching bag lets be honest
So it is a character?
I wonder what happens if i put omni sterylizer on it.
Lone operative and Stealth baby!
The model is fun, I do like it, but it's really missing that grimdark machine body horror to just complete it. Have his face slaved into his scope. Have one arm just be a support for the gun. Where are the masses of wires rather than normal clothes? He just looks a bit too cartoony.
Idk, being forced to always have to balance against heavier wind and not being able to fit in most buildings is pretty horror for me
@@games-wz7sz How scary
Admech dont have machine body horror lol. you know nothing about lore and recent admech. Body horror and etc - dark mechs
@@BloodyArchangelus I can only assume you've never actually looked at artwork of Admech.
@@Retrosicotte I can assume you neverr read any book about admech and don’t understand what is servitor means and how admech upgrades themselves. Read great work, read crime and learn kid.
Wheres the rest of the models? Gamesworkshop couldn't possibly release just a single mid model with an entire codex right? Right?
Inspector Gadget becomes uncanny
I don't play admech but I'm definitely getting one and putting 2 foot legs on him.
if it wasn't for LO i'd say it's maybe 55pts, not 65 like they're suggesting. it doesn't feel like it does much
The problem is that the Admech as an army doesn't need a lone operative sniper with these awful weapon choices.
Also I personally hate this model, this just dumb to be an AdMech no Techpriest would say OK seeing the plans for this Skitarii variant.
And why a Skitarii again?
Everthing about it stinks sadly
I really hope it comes with small stilts as an option. This human sniper sentinel looks just a bit strange in my mind 😃
Honestly this guys not even that bad, Vindicare is just too good that this looks bad in comparison. Its a pretty solid profile with decent stats for cost.
Vindicare is 100% more killy.
The funny thing is the skatros moves base 8"... Man can just sprint across the battlefield gaining assault and advancing, sniping and performing secondaries.
He definitely loses the kill a man fight, but imo he beats the vindicare on point based actions... And this is from someone who loves all the assassins more than any other model
@@dtheraider4336 Vindicare has infiltrator though, so you can just put him where he needs to be at the start of the game instead of clanking over there on your clown legs.
Ngl when they said he has some powerful kicks, i was expecting a higher strength and maybe an ap... 3 standard infantry slaps was not my thought
Like the design its fun probably a pain to assemble tho lol.
If he would have higher damage on both rifles, he would have much more value. Still, I might test him out once I get my hands on the kit and put him to some use as an annoying Sniper main on Hightower.
I didnt see this mentioned- if hes a character, cant he technically take the omnisterilizer?
The Omnisteriliser is gone, replaced by something called the Autoclavic Denunciation. Still has anti-monster and anti-infantry, but loses the 3 extra attacks.
Vindicare vs this guy isn't even a competition unless you are playing a lower points game and can only take one assassin and you really want either an eversore or callidus
Can you do Deathwatch Terminator Squad?
The person shouldnt have lone operative but the stilts should definatly give a defence against melle attack,
That makes no sense. If anything, then stilts should make him vulnerable to melee as he can easily be dropped to the ground and stomped on.
I don't know if it's still in the new codex but an Omni steriliser buff means 4 shots anti infantry 2+ -2ap 3damgae with precision which as a cheapish sniper is pretty good
Now, it didn't have +3 attacks.
I am going to field three of them because I think they look awesome and I don't give a flying cherub about the meta.
did we miss this guy's special rule? i feel like that's where this become bad/good. a special rule to say - provide +1ap to a target or +1BS would make it amazing? (sadly he is looking like he's going to have a once-per-game mortals thing)
So they ask 31 euros for 1 model that is meh at best? I love admech but i find it hard to justify this
You ever had an expensive camera and put it on 2 legs vs a Tripod? Yeah... Stiltsman Bad
The amount of salt in the comments without playing a single game with the model or codex is hysterical
Bahaha, Stealth? What?!...
I'd play him on looks alone!
Only having the ability to give a unit a battle shock test is imho really not that great. Dmg is a joke, also cause you make D3 damage against vehicles and monsters. I don't know. Looks good, but that's all. Stay with the agents.
Battle shock should be much stronger, but gw dont want it. Dont know why
