Man he was an incredible cyclist and a fantastic person
Best cycling channel by a country mile. Now without further ado, let the show...begin.
I think they need the ditch the ‘further ado’ thing, It gets old.
@@WegrennerX I think they should definitely keep it. It’s now a trademark of this channel. Also the fact that it irritates a minority of easily annoyed people makes it even more worthwhile keeping.
@@paddyotoole2058 yeah branding wise you are right…
@@WegrennerX I kinda like it, it's a trademark of sorts. Now, without further ado, let the show begin! ;-)
Toxic, negative, judgemental castigating poison, we are meant to be compassionate and grow. Most of the riders covered were thee most talented riders at the time, unfortunately as kids more or less, late teens early twenties, they were forced into a doping regime. This channel is nothing but a disgrace to cycling, and the people running it have zero integrity. Attacking a human in such a callous manner who was at deaths door from mental illness, caused by the sport. Despicable.
The reason why Ulrich was so villified in Germany is only understandable if you understand German history. He was one of the very first all-German sporting idols, a hero that both the western and eastern parts admired in equal parts. Before that most top athletes were either extremely popular in the West only (like Klinsmann or Schumacher) or in the East only (Weißflog, Ludwig etc). Destroying that illusion by his undignified end, Ulrich fell very deep from a very lofty height.
Ulrich is my fav sports person of all time. I was aware of his juicing but I wanted him to beat lance so bad.
all pro cyclists are doped. lets be honest. basically every top athelete where money is involved is doped.
What a vile title for a good man who has been struggling for over 20 years.
Came here to say this
I agree. Tone it down it’s not all bad please
Hay what matters is how a man acts what he does and when Jan needed a friend the man that flew to Germany and was there was lance. So in my book lance and Jan are both good people. Never go back a doped world was just that. ( Jan from the East German) lance. Well he did what he had to. Much respect for them both as humans
Well, title implies that Urlich died. "last cycling days" would be more appropriate. Nice vid btw.
Question:in Move show where LA, Hincappe and Johan Burnile discuss TdF their was talk of Mathew Van der Poel and his recovery for this season. JB had inside info on former Spanish cyclist that opened his own hotel. High in the mountains, this spa tipe of hotel specialisezes in helping athletes recover and be in best shape possible. You know something of this fountain of jouth?
At his "fattest" (never was, let's be honest), he was ripped compared to any citizen of the United States
Lance Armstrong was a citizen of the US. How'd that work out for Jan?
@@jamisonr being beaten by the better pharmacologist, who presumably was also from the US
@@jamisonr they are great friends and lance came to him recently when Jan had issues. Both great men
@@michaellarkin6158 actually the DR was from Italy
Nah that's not true lmao, I'm more ripped and 1000% not DOPED unless you count strong coffee :)
Quite a hatchet job. He was a doper (as were most of them) yes but always seemed fairly down to earth and to his credit took finishing 2nd in the Tour multiple times with stoicism. The video at the end has no context but most people don't like strangers hanging outside their house filming them, he also has had mental health issues. He recently raised a large sum for Ukraine by selling his Tour bike.

This man is more of a legend than you will ever be.
Do a video about the flings riders have had with the podium girls.
Like George. Wait she got fired and he put a ring on it
One of the most naturally gifted cyclist I've seen apart from he was rubbish at descending though.
Unfortunately he wasn't so gifted then. If gifted, he'd be great at all disciplines.
You will never know how “naturally” gifted he was given that he was a product of state sponsored East German doping program. Everything since his “graduation” is tainted so its anyones guess whether he had a superb physiology or was one of those donkeys who gets an above average reaction to PED’s
It's funny how the investigators only came after cyclists and footballers and tennis players were somehow let off.
We want 🐓 Rasmussen 2007 covered !!!!!!!
But honestly I've always rated Jan a natural talent, like Marco, despite both played under the unwritten (or bad written, rectius) rules of that time and you know what I mean. Clearly they were completely different riders. Jan born to be a great overall rider with a monster engine and good recovery on three weeks competitions, Marco a natural flashy and daredevil climber (and he paid an unnecessary price, like he was the unique scapegoat, something his soul never accepted). Instead I believe Lance had benefited more than anybody else from the doping regime. Like he was Michele Bartoli type of rider (great on one day classics) and then he became an authentic war machine able to win any kind of race. Well, I mean, the ones organized in July in a certain territory :)
Ullrich was one of the most gifted riders ever. I'm lucky to even have lived in his time.
Agreed!
Soon new vids! Let's hope we'll see a great Vuelta!
Way to go buddy!
Please cover Tom Danielson. Unbroken records on Mt. Washington, Mt. Evans, Lookout Mountain and others. Twice busted according to wiki.
Awesome athlete !
sort of ironic that a guy like the commentator, who can't even speak english properly, is constantly making fun of others in his videos
Add that he dare to speak Italian missing every single pronunciation without shame … and he even did trash talk and making fun of and men that died and that was one of the best climber ever , amazing guy and beautiful soul Marco Pantani. Honestly I stop to follow this channel . The tone used is unacceptable
5:53 LOL !!!!!
He's a bit like the Wayne Rooney of cycling, off season having fun then coming in pre season over weight, but always a gifted athlete who could have been a lot more successful if he had the dedication and commitment of others less talented.
What ever happened to Basso? He just disappeared
Doping-Cancer-end of career in 2015
Who's the biggest doper from the UK?
The only one I can think of is David Millar...
Wiggins, he lost 13kg comparing to his weight as a track cyclist, using Kenakord and other shit (same as Millar) right before TdF, summer olympics etc... and TUEs ofc
@@peterkrajcovic458
Doesn't he do some work for Eurosport now?
@@thomasin1519
Isnt Millar employed as a cycling commentator for a UK TV station now?
Also, what about past British dopers, from the era of Armstrong etc?
As a coach and former elite rider ..I can honestly say that Jan Ulrich was Merckx standard ...excellent rider ...tough upbringing ...I can't understand this nearly was idea ..he was Olympic road champion..world tt champ a d 2nd in the your at least 5 times against an incredible athlete'e who s moto was "pain is temporary losing is for er " poor management is why he did not do more ..Yan is human ..this video is cruel and inaccurate ..
There’s a difference between an athlet who use enhancing performance medicines and an athlet who use narcotic substances.
V good
Cheat is a cheat
When Wiggins vid ?;
Title is so wrong. I understand your take but it's too much calling him "fat doped" or those as sad "last days". He didn't die
I just can hear to say I’m blocking this channel for its disgusting video titles. Never watched one so they might even be good. Blocked
