The fact that everyone is telling OP that he needs to be there is weird af. He doesn't need to do anything for her. He was there for her for 23 years and she decided it wasn't good enough and stepped out their marriage. He doesn't owe her a damn thing.

thats not what modern society has said for decades now, more and more openly, women cheating is healthy and natural and a good thing, men who get upset about cheating or who cheat, are misogynistic scum... the responses reflect this common view in western societyies... hell you can find whole articles about it..i have been given the lecture countless times, startted over 15 years ago now.... i kid not... the feminists were pissed a dumped my ex and ghosted her after she cheated on me, i got lectured by her mom and eldest sister who are like clones of eachother with an age gap.. how women cheating to find their happiness is good and healthy, i should support that, but if i ever cheated i would be a scumbag... i just... noped the fuck out... i dont get that mindset at all...

@@humanbeing3551 Its not that they were never cheated on, its that they don’t understand what’s going on in his headspace, he gave her 23 years of love, care, 2 children for her to hold dear and raise, and more importantly, loyalty. He was loyal to her for 23 years and she gave all that away to be in bed with some kid who was the same age as her son. To that, I say that the OP is not a jerk but instead an amazing father of two children and a great friend to all those he loves, except for POS and Sue of course.

It's disgusting that so many people wanted OP to go see his former wife in the hospital. She cheated on him and they expect him to go to her and say it's all better just because she supposedly tried to off herself. I doubt the suicide attempt was genuine and even if it was it shows how selfish she is. OP is the victim not his Ex. Seeing her would just upset him and won't help her since he doesn't want to see her at all. It's best for OP to stay away for his mental health and hers. If he is not around she'll rebuild her life without the false expectation that he will forgive her.

Very similar stuff happened to me. After a 19 year marriage. I’m 43, and am 5’5” and about 165lbs. My estranged wife is 51, and is 5’9” 140lbs. We are both pretty fit. Anyways she was having an absolute mental health issue. Like paranoid thoughts, physical attacks against me for hours, believing I was a demon. It was bad. Anyways all I wanted was her to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. This didn’t go well. She thought I had this evil plan to destroy her. So she just did everything in her power to hurt and belittle me at every opportunity. She once told me she was going to find the tallest, biggest, and jacked guy she could find and F&$K him. Well a year later I found a video on her phone with a 47 yr old 6’6”, 240lb ex bodybuilder on the beach confessing his love to her. She was eating it up. She doesn’t even like this guy. He is very unattractive. He literally looks like the live action version of Shrek. She strictly got into this relationship to hurt me. Something I could never compete with. Genetics is a difficult thing. Anyways this was the one and only thing I could never forgive. I’m no contact for 6 months as of now. I feel exactly how he feels about his ex. If she was in a car accident or living under a bridge, she is no longer my responsibility or problem. This guy can deal with her borderline personality disorder. She is great at hiding it in public and maybe a few months in a relationship. As soon as I can no longer be reasonably blamed for her issues she will shift to whom she is closest too. That time is coming. I see the writing on the wall.

For those interested, there's more to this story. I believe OP posted it a while after everything you hear here. He does eventually relent and goes to see Sue in the hospital..but he absolutely does not take her back or forgive her. He was being guilted too much by the people around him and gives in to go see her. He still stands strong though and cuts Sue out his life. In their meeting, she finally realizes that it's truly over and her marriage is destroyed. I believe Sue's AP contacts her and even says he can't live without her and threatens suicide. She tells him to go ahead and do it, lol. The husband even goes and confronts her AP and the AP gets scared for his life...but he doesn't do anything..but he does get in touch with his parents and I think they got the binder too. He gets disowned by his family because they are very religious and can't fathom how their son destroyed a 23 year marriage. Last we are told, Sue's AP was living couch to couch after getting kicked out of his home by his parents. The husband starts a relationship with Nina and that's the end.

The op and the narrator described it perfectly. She literally oded just to try to get the attention she want getting. When she found out it didn’t work on OP she shutdown, because her plan didn’t work. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was her first question when she woke. It’s such a selfish way to make yourself feel better by making everyone else feel bad for you. My wife had odes before we met and she did it because she felt she wasn’t needed in the world. But this is such a twisted way to getting people to feel bad for you.

In no fault states the penalty of marrying a woman like Sue is quite severe. This may have caused her desperate attempt. Had she lived in a no fault state her situation would have been quite possibly much better…financially and her state of mind much clearer.
