While I come from a more "modern" (aka westernised) family and I was expected to move out at 18, I have many friends and family who still live with their parents and grandparents. And yeah, it's actually quite nice. The elderly are taken care of and the children can save to have a safer start in life. More well to do families tend to stick together less since they can afford it tho.
