I loved the first season of Silo. For me, this show is far more interesting. Silo just keeps uncovering one layer of the Big Bad, just to later introduce another bigger layer of the big Bad and just keeps repeating that process. which it seems like it will do until we ultimately get to Oz.
The show is incredibly written, directed and acted! It's too bad that the general public probably won't discover this show because it's brilliant, and deserves total recognition.
apple usually doesn't advertise a show heavy until after the whole season is out. I'm sure as soon as the season is over everyone will be watching this show. It is sooo good!
Noomi Rapace seems made for this role. She just nails every emotional beat with an earnest sincerity I find impossible not to buy into. Added to my favorite actresses.
If you haven't seen her in "Prometheus" check it out, she is great in that as well. She was also Lizbeth Salander in all 3 of the Swedish movie versions of the Millennium Trilogy about "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
For a show with a quantum reality split, I was expecting some confusion. That said, I'm intrigued and enjoying it. I'm also left with a swirling impression of elements of the TV show LOST as well as the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; both of which we were introduced to 20 years ago in 2004. Lastly, your comments of the use of Hugo Simberg's paintings will be sending me down a rabbit hole in the morning. I look forward to your coverage of future episodes. Cheers!
I thought that too. & I also thought there was 3 Alice. There’s the one that speaks Swedish, the “real” one, and the one that hides in cupboards. I guess we’ll have to wait and see
according to the science there is a infinite amount of realities so I don't know why there would only be two or three. as the show progresses I imagine more realities will stack up.
@@DreeTheSupplier oh yeah, there's def 3 Alice. The one that's in the reality where Jo died was staring at the cupboard scared Alice at the funeral viewing. scary lol
One of my fave shows right now and can't wait for the rest of the episodes, I still have no idea what's going on beyond the alternate universes thing, especially with one of the scenes near the end. Did the original Jo we see at the start of episode 1 somehow die given that we see Alice having a vision of her funeral? Or is there more than one alternate reality that the characters are getting visions of?
There are just two realities. For example: in the 1st episode it’s noticeable that there is a version of Alice that speaks Swedish, and a version where Alice only speaks English. I was confused by this during the first episode, but the third episode explained this.
There’s a nuance people miss, when Jo passes Henry’s office Henry is talking to Bud in the monitors reflection. Jo then is in here office when the workers come in and she appears to them as a ghost (I believe she’s in a liminal realm) when she walks back to Henry’s office it’s Bud that says to her “curiosity killed the cat”, Bud doesn’t wear glasses and the reflection (Henry) still has glasses on. She was still in a liminal space! Also anytime you see the color orange it’s signifying there’s a hint. Henry’s office had an orange hued light.
I think there's more than two realities, at least 3: 1 were Joan is dead, but Paul is alive (she left behind to let Paul evacuate in Soyuz, whish probably let Joan 2 to survive as well; 2 reality is the one were Jo 2 got home to Jo 1 reality (that's why she experience an eye pain and sees Paul); a 3 reality is where Paul is dead, but Jo never left a space station (that's why she still seeing space station), and probably dies as well. There's might be a 4th reality, where Paul and Jo both survived, but Paul decided to be left on space station to assure Jo gets out on Soyuz.
thats too many parallel universe....2 is already hard to explore...4 universe? the writer need to be mad genius otherwise the story is going to be fxxx up
OK, so this is a show that deals in some pretty heavy concepts but is a succession of mystery boxes that will live and die on it's conclusion, I am reminded of DEVS, I hope this one turns out better.
there are 3 realities (so far) - one w/Jo (cheated on husband), one w/Jo (loving) and one w/Jo (dead) - didn't even explain why the daughter is seeing these realities. my theory - they are all entangled on a quantum level (all versions of Jo) - the reason why her daughter is seeing the realities because she shares Jo's DNA and entangled with her versions
Almost agree with everything you said except I think Jo’s daughter is seeing the affects of looking at the CAL when she was on live with her mom when everything took place.
He didn't do the first 3 episodes. Given that today is Saturday and episode 5 was on Wednesday l fear he may not be doing another episode summary and maybe (hopefully!) just doing a series review when it's finished
And is name is Henry in both, That’s what the reporter called him. He calls himself Bud, to distinguish himself from the other Henry as he has figured it out (and it drove him to drink).
If I was a kid I would not sit in side a cabinet like that, I used to think monsters are in side them.....or something will grab me from inside it, like those horror movies with demons, or ghost....lol
This is the problem with the quantum computer. It needs things to exist in a state of superposition but in our reality these states collapse almost immediately. Apparently Bud/Henry has figured out a way to sustain superposition.
I think I’m out on this show. I so wanted to like it, but it’s clearly alternate realities clashing and feels like they’ve chosen to make it confusing for the sake of making it confusing
I feel like there has to be another layer to it, as it feels like the 'reveal' has happened very early. I'm hoping it's gonna have something to do with the horror side to the story
Pessoal está falando de 3 a 4 realidades, ou até mais, vai saber! Uma em que a Jo está morta, outra em que ela traiu o marido e a outra em que ela ama o marido e nunca traiu ele. Seriado maluco, mas está muito legal!
These shows like Dark or in the past Lost with alternate or parallel realities tend to start great only to fall flat near the end. I am still not sure about this one.
I'd say that maybe because she was aftected by the CAL, however she was not the only one in the ISS to have witnessed it. Perhaps she was too close to it together with Paul? Same thing with her daughter since they were both video-chatting when the accident happened.
Noomi and the two Colemans are very good, the acting of the other major cast members, not so much. Could have been a better cast. Love the subject of the story, but too much melodrama and repetition. Some the dialogue makes the characters (many of whom are actual rocket scientists) to be unnecessarily dense. The exploration of the "many worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics is extremely interesting though. In my view it should be called the "infinite worlds" interpretation because there really is no reason that it would be limited.
What did you think of episode 4? Are you enjoying the Hugo Simberg artwork making an appearance? Let me know your thoughts below!
Thanks for Covering it :)

Super Explanation 👍👍👍
The correct explanation is that the show runners don't understand that the quantum effects that they refer to are only valid at the atomic scale.
As my high school literature used to say -- "Willing suspension of disbelief"
Let's hope that surviving Magnus doesn't trip and fall or poor Alice will be left an orphan. Poor Magnus is surprisingly fragile.
Yeah it's gonna be interesting to see how that plays out!
I left the comment somewhere else. But alice is experiencing all this because she was on live video at the exact moment they did the test
The observer effect... That's interesting.
What test, what live video!
@@binhminhvu3654In EP 1 Alice was video-chatting w/ Jo while the experiment/accident occurred.
