I bought a 7 piece Session Series (birch) kit from Steve Weiss about 30 years ago. I love em! The just sing! I now have 5 kits (all different brands) but I love my Pearls the most. Watching this video, I truly appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making them. These aren’t just drums, but a beautiful instrument crafted by artisans. Maybe I’ll sell off 2 or 3 of my kits and invest in one of beauts…? hmmm… decisions, decisions…
It doesn't seem like that, from the video-- He says "when we get the shells" several times, referring to the unlathed blanks. So who makes those blanks? @@PenetrationStation

Pearl Taiwan, then the shells are shipped to Nashville for the custom shop treatment.
