GREAT VLOG...thanks! You should be called " Mr Hollywood" since you're so well informed about the late great stars of Hollywood and Hollywood history! Ever think of becoming a film historian? We really need to preserve all those famous old films from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s before they go even more to ruin! I know Martin Scorcese has sprearheaded a movement to preserve the films of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I love so many of them hard to know where to begin. I loved the late great Spencer Tracy, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, James Cagney, Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and William Powell was also so super talented and funny! Loved him in all the great Thin Man movies with the late talented beautiful Myrna Loy! Kate Hepburn was one of my favorites and named my oldest daughter after her, her middle name. Bette Davis, another great, Garbo, Harlow, both so super talented along with Carol Lombard, Barbara Stanwyck and Claudette Colbert so many , too many to list all here! Miss them all! May they all rest in peace, but I know they're all alive and kicking on the Other Side! Wouldn't it be great to meet them all on the Other Side? Lucky you for meeting Shelley Winters and getting that great book on the late great John Gilbert, sad what became of him!
You really should read "Cold Heart Canyon" by Clive Barker. It's a dark tale that can best be described as "Rosemary's Baby" meets "Sunset Boulevard." Imagine a forgotten silent star, of Romanian origins, who has been practicing Black Magic in a subterranean room beneath her old mansion, in a hidden canyon in the Hollywood Hills, for decades. On certain nights, from mausoleums all over Los Angeles, the Golden Age stars of Hollywood re-apparate and have an orgy at Katya Lupi's house. And they're as young, horny, and gorgeous as they were in their prime. (You could go there and enjoy yourself if you could find your way.) An action star with a waning career, and in need of privacy while he recovers from botched facial surgery, rents Lupi's mansion as a hideout, and is lured into Katya's world. Her spells have kept her looking young and beautiful, like the love child of Norma Desmond and Elisabeth Bathory. At first, the protagonist doesn't suspect anything sinister, but he soon realizes that he's not alone in the house . A caveat: I liked the book but didn't love it when I read it sixteen years ago. There is extreme violence and graphic descriptions of sex in every imaginable form and some that are unimaginable.
Nice tribute to the great John Gilbert Jordan. He was a sensitive man, who fell out with powerful people. He is remembered fondly by me, as a great film star.
I remember in 1967 or ‘68 four of us young teens went to the Glendale Forest Lawn after class was over for the summer. My aunt and a couple of family friends are also buried there. Very beautiful place. Thanks for showing us these graves as well as the beautiful Stainglass exhibit of the Last Supper. Jah was such a cute pup. It’s 2022 already and the info on the gravesites were much appreciated. ❤️🙏🏻🌹
George and Gracie are right on the same wall as Nat King Cole, and Errol Flynn is out in one of the square lawn areas outside the Freedom Mausoleum. I love this place so much. I've got to go and explore more...it is just such a huge place. When I was in college, in the early 90s, you could run all over inside the Cathedral. It is a shame you can't anymore, Love these videos so much!
Errol Flynn is buried in the Garden Of Everlasting Peace, under a tree. In an unmarked grave next to his is Constance Emerald, Ida Lupino's mother. They were all great pals. On June 20, Flynn's birthday, a small group gathers early in the morning for a shot of vodka and a toast. I found this out by accident when I went there about ten years ago. Frank Borzage's grave is directly across from his. I think Walt Disney is in that garden as well.
At first I was not too sure about Jaw, but the more I watched your videos the more his personality shines threw. I love your dog! I think you should create a Facebook just for him lol
Headed to LA in a couple weeks for my first time your videos have me so pumped up and i’ve learned a lot …. Thanks a million …👍🏼. From dayton ohio cool to know you’re from Troy area …
Jordan, the more of your videos I watch, the more I want to watch. Everyone should see "Queen Christina" with Gilbert and Garbo. Garbo got Laurence Olivier fired from what should have been his first starring role in Hollywood, so that John Gilbert could star opposite her. I first went to Forest Lawn in Glendale when I was 4 years old, in 1952, with some cousins from Texas. Back then it was a go-to place and you could roam freely. It was also my first encounter with a cemetery and I was baffled by it all. Death was this scary, mysterious thing that I had never experienced first-hand. So, I made up my own explanations for things, as children do when adults just can't take the time to answer questions. I decided that everyone was speaking in hushed tones because the people in the ground were sleeping during the day and at night they climbed out of their graves and had a party in the cemetery, when no one was around. I see no reason to change my thinking.
Thanks again Jordan! I used to walk around Forest Lawn back in the early and mid 90’s with my little book looking for Stars graves. The “Great Mausoleum” was open and I was able to go in for a bit until the Forest lawn security people took my book away. Lol This has been my interest for a long time and it’s hard for me to do what I enjoy doing because I live 3 hrs away (Fresno CA) I appreciate your time and efforts in your Vlogs. You keep doing what your doing and I’ll keep watching. Thanks again you are appreciated 👍 R.V.
Robert Velasco.. sorry to hear they took your book away. That was not nice for them to do that. Oh well what do you expect. Sometimes locations can be a little much and protecting their privacy. I’m surprised they didn’t throw us out when we were just school kids and we went to the Glendale Forest lawn in 1967 or 68 after school is out for the summer.
Hi Jordan, I’m catching up on your earlier blogs. I spent a day visiting cemeteries on my last L.A. trip in 2012 from Oz and the Great mausoleum where Clarke Gable is was off limits. I pressed the intercom at the door thinking I’d faint if he answered 😂. I was told family only were permitted. Thanks for all your blogs !
It sounds like t watch is set for hourly alerts. U can switch it off. Thank you for showing all these famous peoples graves. I could never get to visit.
I have a cool story about sending Anderson Cooper a book his father had wtitten, and inscribed to someone. I loved John Gilbert...he was in Shirley Temple movies. He was very handsome and I suspect that could be the base of jealousy. Good job, Jordan.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Titan Dallas thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I love your cemetery the lesser known actors as well as the really famous ones. There’s so many of these videos out there but no one really talks about the silent film people and other lesser known actors. No offense to Chris Cornell but it seems like everyone that visit these places go to see people like him but people don’t talk about actors the lesser known guys right around the corner. A lot of people these days just don’t respect the classics. Your channel is amazing and I really enjoyed watching your various travels
I've been wanting to suggest to you for awhile to go to film at Westwood Village cemetery. When I was in LA for the Big3 Wedding Weekend I went there and basically got lost in the history for 2 hours. 20% of the people buried there were well-known people in show business. The proximity in which former costars are buried to each other is crazy too. Walter Matthau is maybe 75 feet away from Jack Lemmon. Brian Keith is maybe 75 feet from Sebastian Cabot. They're not costars, but what really got me was Paul Gleason, (Principal from the Breakfast Club), is buried right next to Carl Wilson (Beach Boys). Also, Roy Orbison is maybe 25 feet from Frank Zappa. (Although they're both in unmarked graves.)
+Mod Man yeah, that's definitely on my list of places. I'll have to break it up into multiple trips. There are so many notable people, it would be an hour long otherwise
Love you Fedora & glass s great look on you Jordan thank you for once again A spectacular vlog Loved Liz Taylor’s Beautiful I heard she was late for her own funeral . She wanted that lol. Loved John Gilbert story.
Mayer got really pissed at Gilbert for telling Garbo to hold out for more money at MGM. He screamed that he "was inciting that Swede against him." She didn't return to the studio for months and Mayer finally gave in to her wishes. Gilbert was very smitten with Garbo from day one and he guided her through the maze of Hollywood and did things to make her feel comfortable and at ease on and off set. She may have even returned home to Sweden without a career if it hadn't had been for his friendship and encouragement as she was not happy at all in Hollywood in those early years.
How were you able to get to Gable's and Lombard's grave? I've been there twice and there's a chain. I really wanted to get up close to his grave but didn't want to get arrested ;) They don't allow photography inside of the mausoleum, so I wonder how you were able to get footage?
How did you get to see Clark gable? When I went to the mausoleum there was a bitchy guard right when you walk in who throws you right out. And mind you, we were very polite and weren't even aware at the time that we couldn't go in
Hey Jordan I like the videos u put up some of them I haven't seen before oh I was head of security for the Rainbow Bar & Grill From August 24, 1994-June 15, 2002 man I got stories
Idk why everyone keep saying mj is buried on the other side of the second window he's buried straight down the hallway of the entrance to the holly terrace if they open the doors you can see his sarcophagus straight to the back by the stained glass windows
Pretty ridiculous that Michael Jackson’s fans are not allowed to see his grave and pay respect. Don’t understand the family desire to isolate his resting place.
Jordan thank you for sharing this vlog with us. I miss alot of the old actors and actresses.God Bless them all.
Great video! Interesting story about John Gilbert. Thank you for sharing!
I found this very interesting thank you for sharing I love learning about old Hollywood

I love Jah! Where's he sitting in the car? I imagine him sitting patiently looking out the front window. I love cemetaries...
I read that book. He was railroaded by Mayer as you noted. He still draws females & males to Facebook site. RIP John Gilbert.🙏

Enjoyed this video. Great Hollywood history.
Love Clark Gable! Thank you for sharing this.
I like seeing these cemeteries. So different from the old, rural cemeteries in the East/South.
Always enjoy the cemetery walks.
John Gilbert and I share the same birthplace. Thanks for visiting.

Really enjoy it when you discuss someone's life and career. How about one about Robert Cummings. He's a favorite of mine.
I have a huge interest in cemeteries, as well. I've been a member of findagrave for over 16 yearts. :)
I have a cool story about sending Anderson Cooper a book his father had wtitten, and inscribed to someone.
I loved John Gilbert...he was in Shirley Temple movies. He was very handsome and I suspect that could be the base of jealousy. Good job, Jordan.
I might be wrong about Shirley Temple...I'm checking. 🤔
If you feel a very strong connection to John, then your souls knew each other. That's all I'm going to say
+Rev. Jenny Osorio I agree
