@@KaNawogirusa It's definitely not turn based strategy. The individual combat is turn based, but there's no strategy in that. That just plays out with almost no input from the player. The strategy is put in outside of combat, where everything runs real time, not turn based.

The thing I hate about Fire Emblem is that there are no free battles. You are forced to make some choice and put some exp in limited characters. That's not a RPG to me but just a tactical game. Fire Emblem is tactical game IMO. The RPG elements are too low. They should've given better gear when you finish a chapter. If you do it fast you get the best equpment on that point. There isn't need to level up since it's very limited and its a linear game. Keep following the story and that's it. You can better go watch a movie instead of this. you want to have some more input yourself playing a game. I hate limited gaming in a game
If you like the music in the game you should know that all of the music was compressed to fit the cartridge. They released a OST in Japan with the compressed and uncompressed versions of the songs on it. The music quality on the uncompressed versions is really impressive.
@@djhero0071 The average weight of a 64 game is around 3.2 oz. Gold is currently around 1750 per once. That means it would be around 5600 bucks. Quite a bit more than 100.
I'd love to see games like this re-mastered on today's consoles. Keep the story and game play, just update the graphics, music, etc and maybe add some content. I don't think there currently any games like this. I loved this one, Shining Force 1 & 2 on Sega Genesis and Brigandine on Playstation.
Grew up watching my dad play this, barely understanding what was going on. Its been 13 years since he passed, but watching this kinda feels like sitting in his lap again.
This is one of the few games you REEEEEEALLY don't want to play on an emulator. Part of it is because it's just a beautiful masterpiece that deserves to be played on console. The other reason is that there's _not a _*_single_*_ goddamn ROM that works properly_. Apparently the people at Quest coded it in such a way that playing it in a computer fucks up the graphics and sometimes even makes the game crash. Man, I wish I had a Wii so I could play this again. :/
actually,i played it on an emulator, and the problem seemed to be the version of the project64 emulator, which mine was like 1.6 or 1.7 and it was just...yeah...but when i tried with 2.SOMETHING it was fine.the graphics were good,i didn't run into any issue
actually, now that i think of it,i did run into a SINGLE issue, which actually only seemed to happen after i beat the game but could be because i didn't really use many items, but,as stated above, after i beat the game,if i used a few items in the troop edits menu thingy (like status up items, alignment items, and so on),when trying to exit that menu, the game would crash. But it it only seemed to happen with units that weren't in a proper troop.I say it only seems to happen AFTER I BEAT THE GAME because i remember using those items before and nothing happening.I wonder if this can have something to do with the fact that the timer of that save file was at 99:99:59 for a LONG time, but anyway, just watch out while using items like that, but as i said multiple times, that happens mostly with units that are not in a proper troop, and it also didn't seem to happen before i beat the game,so as long as you at least save before doing that, you shouldn't have any problems,as that won't explode your save or something

@Hyzoran Yeah, let's just rip the soul out of Ogre Battle 64. The battle system here is unique and addictive, if you like Tactics Ogre, fine, but don't get your chips in my peanut butter!
This game really was beautiful, and it is basically last generation 2D games, games like this would obv be in 3D now, and I honestly appreciate the graphics more because of that.
There's no real exploration in this game. There is technically an overworld, but it utilizes a point-and-click interface. Although there are sometimes hidden (invisible) items on the battle maps, and you can sometimes recruit certain types of monsters in specific areas, if you want to search around for those.

In my opinion, we should have had MORE N64 titles that did 2D since the controller was capable of switching GRIPS between 2D and 3D games. And, given they finally released Earthbound on it for the first time, I have faith that the first Mario Party will finally see the light of day again. That game is still my favorite Mario Party on that system thanks to its joystick games that I still think are the dumbest reason to ban a video game. They even provided a protective glove for those games due to complaints. And guess what happened next? People took off the gloves, played the joystick games again and stated the same complaints about the games causing hand problems. Bunch of morons.
