Not just a football manager, not just an inspiration to everyone who met and also to those that didnt but he was a gentleman, humble and unselfish. Hardly anyone did not respect him and that must be his epitaph. RIP and let us hope many still retain your values as a human being.

The meaning of a true gentleman. Without ever meeting the man or knowing anyone that did, the way he spoke to people, about people; the smile he carried for ever and a day...that showed to me and I'm sure to many that this man had a massive heart. That much I know to be true and well I continue to well up I just want to say that the world of football miss you Bobby Robson. You were a great man, a man that has inspired my character and I hope to have the chance to meet you in the next life.

In my life following the sport of football, I can't think of a single other manager who commanded, and continues to command, my respect the way that Sir Bobby does. I think the word 'great' gets overused and thrown about far too easily - but when you talk of Sir Bobby Robson, you really begin to get an accurate idea of what 'great' really means. Would have loved to have had him at Nottingham Forest at any time of my life. Rest In Peace, Sir Bobby. What a manager, and what a man.

To be fair, there's a video of Sunderland fans singing there's only one Bobby Robson at an away game on RUclips somewhere so although I'm a Geordie you have to show them respect, whoever disliked this are scum no matter where they're from. Bobby was respected by everyone.
