He is one of the great managers Barcelona had along with Vic Buckingham,Ferdinand Daucik,Rinus Michels,Johan Cruyff,Helenio Herrera,Hennes Weisweiler,Udo Lattek,Cesar Menotti,Terry Venables,Van Gaal,Rijkaard and Guardiola
Now I am no Newcastle Utd fan, [Liverpool here], but I found it impossible not to hold back the tears when watching this. Bobby Robson was the ultimate gentleman, always had time for anyone, no matter who they were. Creed, colour, nationality didn't come into it. He was a gentleman to everyone. And the support of the Newcastle fans - and the welcome they gave him - was with genuine love and admiration. There were more than one or two players on that pitch that owed their careers to Bobby, and they knew it too. He will never be forgotten and is still badly missed.
Just imagine being loved that much by so many people. He achieved that ultimate life goal. If you bow out being loved that much then your life was truly lived the right way. Miss him.
Deeply missed, the king of all managers, Sir Bobby will never die in our memories, from FC Porto, with all our respect and admiration for our former manager...
Best manger Newcastle U.T.D ever had.I rang and spoke to his security one day and asked for a singed photograph. He sent me one in the post straight away. That's the sort of man he was. I have here in my home on my wall I look it ever day and think of him. R.I.P Sir Bobby Robson. But never never never forgotten with me.
My biggest regret in life was losing a selfie with Sir Bobby Robson when I went to see a reserve match against Newcastle and I am a Sunderland fan but Sir Bobby was one of the greatest and such gent and ledged of the game! Love from Safc
When I watched this live I could almost see the proverbial hand on his shoulder, telling him it was almost time. I knew and he knew that this was his final farewell. How wonderful it was then, that he fought back the illness long enough to enjoy and experience this much deserved and well earned moment. I imagine he died a happy man, not just seeing his achievements recognised in such a prestigious award, but knowing just how much he was loved by his people, at home and in the football community nationwide and worldwide. Sleep well good sir 🖤🤍
I know this is 2 year late but I was born the day before bobby died and my mam worked in the hospital he dealt with and gifted my mam a bottle of champagne for my 18th
There's something so incredibly sad about the appearance, in that even watching on TV it felt like his goodbye to football fans all around the world, yet at the same time was a thank you from football to Sir Bobby... as a Spurs fan, I get a lump in my throat watching this !
I'm from Ashington, NE, I was a loyal mag for years, don't follow football much these days. But I never forget watching this in streams of tears as I knew it was his last fairwell. The song came on the radio today 12 years later and the memory shone like it was yesterday, the tears ran fresh again, so I just had to come find the video. RIP good sir ❤

An incredible manager,a incredible bloke,so enthusiastic and was unfairly treated by the media doing his time as England manager and also unfairly sacked as Newcastle manager, the last great England manager to go abroad and the last great English manager
Quite simply the most amazing and powerful man to grace our beautiful game. I met him once when he was Newcastle manager and he had such grace and dignity. Such a terrible illness for a wonderfully humble gentleman. Rest well Sir Bobby, and take your place as the manager in heaven. You are missed terribly by all in the game...
What a wonderful human being. Never forget the moment when England lost the penalty shoot out to make the Final against Argentina. The way Franz Beckenbauer went over to console him was a memory I will never forget as he obviously had so much admiration towards Bobby. The ultimate gentleman who I could never imagine having a bad word to say about anyone. Legend does not even come close Sir Bobby Robson One in a million x
He went peacefully with his club and his old players the tears the day he passed were inevitable as he was the hero of Newcastle our hero (the face of Gazza seeing bobby Ill made us shed a tear)
Incredible , he was written off at Barca because of cruyffs legacy almost immediately but he won so many cups there and managed so many icons, he didn’t let it phase him , despite going through cancer then too not long before he took the job
I've got an old Ipswich Town album signed by him. This is just too emotional. Makes me want to visit Newcastle. Even the Sunderland fans gave him a good send off.
I have so many memories of bobby robson as an Irishman. I can't even begin to describe it. What a legend you are sir. Thank you for the memories of my life you played a huge part in.
Many, many years ago now I was a young Derby fan looking lost outside Portman Road after the match, wondering how I get back to the railway station. Along comes the great man, asks if he could be of any help, I explained (somewhat in awe of him) my situation....and he instructed one of the young Ipswich apprentice pro's to personally drive me in a club car to the station. What a gent. He could have ignored me, pointed in the direction of the station but no. I've never forgotten that kind gesture.
I came here after hearing Nessun Dorma on Classic FM this morning. The tears immediately started running, as I remembered this moment. I remember thinking, this is his last goodbye 😔 When I watched this live I could almost see the proverbial hand on his shoulder, telling him it was almost time. I'm watching this back now with them same goosebumps, crying and realising how lucky i was to be at this match, to see Sir Bobby and the likes of Gazza, Beardsley, Ferdinand and Shearer actually play when i was old enough to remember it. I will never forget this day and i hope Sir Bobby is happy we finally have our club and hope back.
Nessum Dorma always takes me back to 1990 with a tear in my eye not only fort the drama that was Italia 90 but not long after West Germany lifted the World Cup i lost my Mum
You couldn't meet a nicer man! A perfect gentleman in the footballing world! Loved by absolutely everybody! God we miss you governor! Brought tears to my eyes watching this. He was such a fighter and a believer.. Never gave up! A true inspiration!!
64 years ago when I was 11, in 1958, Bobby Robson walked down the road with Derek Kevin, Ronnie Allen, Ray Barlow to enter The Hawthorns, West Bromwich, to go training. After laps of the pitch he came over and chatted to us for a good 15 minutes. He was my hero, a wing half of immense class and a cultured right foot. A gentleman, the like of which we will never see again. When ever I see a picture or hear a mention of his name my heart explodes! What a great great man in every respects! God Bless you Bobby.
I’ll never forget when my mam told me a story of when she met Sir Bobby on her birthday, he kissed her on the cheek and said “happy birthday pet” she was cheesing as she told me it. She cried when he died, I’ll never forget that time of my life. Rest in peace Sir Bobby.
