If you’re living in poverty then you should not be a stay at home mom without some type of Work from home job. OR one spouse works in the day and the other spouse works at night. There’s no excuse to have an entire family, Husband, wife and children but living in a 1 bedroom apartment. That’s ridiculous!
I remember when my debt was at $3,500. I was overjoyed because the finish line was only about six weeks away. It was a little over a year ago ... I was a single dad ... and I wasn't making a ton more than the dad in this call. Y'all can do this!

You’re in a one bedroom because you’re the type of people who think your $3500 little medical debt will go away by itself five years from now while you’re trying to buy a house. If the husband had called in Dave would have called him a charlatan and a fool, and he should have done the same with her.
It may very well be his idea to buy a home and go further in debt, while she's left to figure out how to make more minium payments on everything. Regardless, buying a home shouldn't even be a dream right now.

I've been on the phone with customer service reps three times within the past several days, and in all three calls I could hear small children/babies in the background. My point is, a mother can work a customer service job from home, even with children clearly afoot. Not ideal, but nothing is these days.✌
As a customer that’s really frustrating because I can’t hear the rep.
Walmart is not starting you at 20 🤣 maybe 15 but it's not full time.
Getting the better income jobs is really challenging too. It is one think to have skills but it cost to gain them in many situations.
Why are these stay at home Mom's so perplexed at how they can bring in income? Post pandemic there are so many online job offers. Even just babysitting another baby a few half days a week would change their world.. clean houses every weekend.. do something!
Those both come with a lot of liability and insurance costs. It’s not just that simple.

I know somebody who works full-time and has a three-year-old and a one-year-old. She works full-time at Home. Nobody takes care of the kids. She works for an insurance company on the phone on the computer all day with her two kids so it is very much possible.

From what I understand attending a driving school to qualify for a Class A to train for the license costs around $2,000, while the actual license is under $100. Plus it's 2 months of training, full-time. So if you want that type of job, you need to make sure there's money coming in while in training - and then go for the job.

It’s very true. My husband has degrees. Best paid job he’s ever had is a trucker. Now, you don’t get 90k out as a first year driver, but easy 50k without debt for a couple months of on the job training.
I’m a truck driver for a private fleet which pays more and make about 120k to 130k plus benefits 50k to 60k is probably about what you will make first yr

I don't know why Dave always recommends pizza delivery. If someone does this they are not covered by their auto insurance if they get into a car accident.

I understand it is an example but most may assume they are covered when a lot of times you may not be or may need to add coverage leaving them vunerable to not having a claim covered. I do insurance which is why I mentioned this.

Two adults and two or more kids in a one-bedroom apartment is cramped and in violation of fire codes. But I get it, because rents in the Orlando area are insane. As soon as her kids are in school it will probably be feasible for her to get a job working during school hours.
What do you mean as soon as kids are in school? That women has no intent of really trying to help out their situation haha you can hear it in her voice and especially when you are struggling and say but I'm a stay at home mom and wish I could help 🤡 get a job! Many people find a way that's the whole point of this show figure it out and it's funny how women always get excuses made for them oh the kids it's harder for women to make what am a makes blah blah blah she can work now and help if that was a man saying he's a stay at home dad people would flip out and say all kinds of things!

Nevr follow a man dealing with debt. This is why I had separate accounts when I was married and filed separate taxes. His debt was his debt and my debt was my debt,. It is a good thing I did beacsue he ended up owing a lot of money to the IRS

Do you wait until they send you a bill before making a payment? I know the medical debt is out there but I have not received a bill this month.
With medical, I wait until I am sure all insurance has paid before I make a payment. That's probably because one of our local hospital / medical networks has the worst billing system I have ever seen. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with them trying to figure out what the &%$@ they have done.
I wonder what percentage of people actually go to court over low medical debts like this.

Why not just get debt-free before even dating? I mean make your life 10X better. I don't know why he doesn't mention his own study about 67% of married people starting their marriage in debt. I love Dave but divorce is real money shouldn't be a problem in marriage if you steward your single season well.
