Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball might be the funniest women that have ever lived.
Vivian Vance was up there
@@peaceandlove544 The fact that Lucy kept inviting her to be her foil on shows was testament to Vivian's skills.
Agreed!!!
Gilda Radnor comes close.
@@johnkling6657 she sure does I loved her on Saturday Night Live that was so sad when she got so sick.
There will never be another Lucille Ball!!!!!
two brilliant redheads who came from the most ordinary roots and achieved what they deserved to achieve
Brunette roots?
Still to this day...I still Love You Lucy ❤️🙏🏾
She was ahead of her time and totally in her element. Great writers, timeless comedy.
2020....I STILL LOVE LUCY!!!!
Always!
The William Holden scene with the pliable nose is classic comedy. Ricky's bug eyed stares with his mouth open are rolling-on-the floor hilarious.

I watch I Love Lucy every morning I wake up early. My granddaughter loves Lucy too! It is a joy to share comedy with my precious granddaughter!
Omg Lucy was so funny i laugh so hard i cried every time I was laughing. It's crazy how she's gone, but still it hurts like if I new her in person and like if it was yesterday😢😢. I miss her and her shows. I love watching I love Lucy I will never get tired of her. I watch all the reruns constantly, they can play it all day, and I'll sit down and watch it all day long. I don't care if it's repeats. My husband says I'm crazy LOL. I grew up watching I Love Lucy I was like 7 years old at the time, im 50 now. Lucille Ball AKA Lucy Ricardo thank you for all the funny times and memories I will treasure them and remember you always. R.I.P.
Wonderfully worded.
I am 66 and also watch my DVDs over and over. I hope all of her fans have seen the pilot episode. It is hilarious. Lucy looks so pretty.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,
I was 6 years old when I Love Lucy came out and we got our first tv. Here I am 73 years later still watching I Love Lucy reruns - no longer watch tv but see the shows on my computer.
When I was a kid, Lucy was the one person of all people that I wanted to meet. And I’ll never forget that sunny spring day in April when my grandmother told me she’d died. I was just a 14 year old kid at the time, and I sat alone in the carport and cried. I truly did LOVE Lucy, and I still do. I now have a 12 year old daughter and I love to see her loving Lucy as much as I do. My heart still hurts when I think about her being gone, but I know someday God will introduce us. I Miss You Lucy. ❤️🥲❤️🥲
Queen of Comedy Lucille Ball👑👸
I had the distinct honor years ago to witness Carol Burnett interacting with Lucille Ball's daughter. It was a cocktail party on Park avenue in New york. Carol Burnett was seated in a chair in front of this huge window that was 18 ft tall. And Lucille Ball's daughter came and sat on her lap. I thought it was the most endearing moment. It speaks of the closeness between the two. Two grown women at a cocktail party but one was still viewing herself as a child able to sit on her aunts lap.
Thank you for posting. I am sure they were like sisters!!!
lucy was a true legend of comedy

My family & I watch I Love Lucy every single night. And my kids are young & LOVE it. 😍
I remember the day she died in 1990...I cut out a red heart and outlined it in white and wrote "Lucy" in the middle and wore it for days afterwards.
That is wonderful! To be exact...Lucy died on
April 26, 1989
@@steviebelmont2434 so very sad.
MY 2 FAVORITE FEMALE COMEDIANS OF ALL TIME !
CAROL BURNETT AND
LUCILLE BALL !
I didn't love Lucy. I absolutely adored Lucy!
Lucille Ball was one of a kind!
I love Lucy still is the finest TV comedy of all time.
I believe she died on Carol Burnettes' birthday, which must have been difficult for her to endure.
Clarence Hodges she even said that the flowers Lucy sent for her arrived that same afternoon
She did
still lovelucy!!
Lucy and Vivian stuck in the shower is one of the funniest episodes ever.
The nose. Legendary.
Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball are both funny!
Lucy was a genius.
This is from 1990 not 2003. I remember very vividly watching this with my mother and grandmother back when I was in Jr. High school. It aired in 1990 on CBS and was paying tribute to comedic women on television. I also recorded it to cassette tape back used to play the tape over and over trying to not only imitate Lucy's voice, but to also try and learn the song she and Carol sang. This was during my long phase of having to record things on cassette tape.
Thanks so much! I knew the year must be wrong, largely based on how Carol Burnett looks! Do you recall the exact name of this show, tribute on CBS?
No problem. I don't really remember the name, I just remember watching this part mostly. I think it was called a salute to women in comedy or something like that and it was on CBS.
I removed the beginning where the date was wrong in the video. I also added 1990 to the description. Thanks again!
You are welcome!
This is called Funny Women of Television. It was put on by the MTR, now Paley Center, and aired in Oct. 1991. This is the beautiful Ebell Theater in LA.
It’s frightening to think this was 30 years ago exactly years are flying by
I absolutely love that *was* the best oof 😖
first and foremost you must believe!
for some reason my dad hated Lucille Ball & I have no reason why & he hates Carol Burnett to me they are so talented & so damn funny , Lucy was always doing something real dumb , but it made you laugh , but nothing beats the chocolate factory that was her finest work I still watch that scene & still laugh watching it
Some males just don't like female comedians--especially those who do physical comedy. My father is one such person.
Great remedy when I am in a bad mood. As many times as I have watched each episode, I always laugh.❤❤🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂❤❤
The day Lucille died happened to be Carol's birthday.
Randy Hansen ikr😭
Lucy sent Carol Flowers on her birthday to her door for years. Carol saw Lucy for the last time on her birthday the day Lucy died in the hospital. Went home and there was the flowers sitting on her porch from Lucy. WOW. That must of been very hard on Carol. Lucy was gone.
Randy Hansen I did not know that it is so sad since there were so close
@@KnockOffBeingFat I knew this. Great trivia, and also tons of Lucy books, etc. Several years ago my mom and I traveled to Jamestown Birthday Celebration. We even stayed an extra day. Things to do, people to meet, contest, places to see--an absolutely wonderful, fantastic, enjoyable, memorable weekend. Great mother/daughter vacation together. Mom has passed mow, but I will always cherish my memories, and seeing the smiles on her face and the enjoyment we shared.🙂🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤❤
passed now. Pardon any spelling errors. I am a senior citizen, and arthritis is setting in rapidly.

What event was this ?

Betty Whiteasaurus in the audience. She's been around for 250 million years.
this was 1990, golden girls was still on its run lol
I think Hollywood is a place I would want NOT to be in.
some are puppets in it just for the exposure and fame, some like lucy are pioneers and creators and make their own agendas
Same I live in burbank and every time I go to Hollywood it's horrible nothing but homeless
I read in a book that they put a candle wick in the nose and that it was all planned. I’M SO CONFUSED
I think that the story of the episode of I Love Lucy (with William Holden where Lucy's nose catches fire) got embellished over the years, by Lucy herself and also by others. The way I understand it, is that the dipping of the nose in the coffee was the part that was totally improvised. The rest leading up to that was planned.
Stevie Belmont “....Where your nose catches fire, was that planned or not?” Then Lucy says it wasn’t. What I’m saying is that she asked specifically if it was or was not.
I follow what you're saying. But I stand by my earlier statement. I think that since the end of it wasn't planned (was improvised), that Lucy referred to the whole thing as not planned. Again, I think Lucy is talking about the episode a full 20 years later (in this clip introduced by Carol Burnett) and perhaps unconsciously is embellishing the tale. But I wasn't there, so who knows for sure.
Stevie Belmont 👌👌
When Lucy says it wasn't "planned out," I think what she meant was it wasn't in the original script. At least that's according to the writer of the episode in an interview I've seen. I think he said it was added in rehearsal.
Brace yourself, guys. Lucy is giving you a nose job about the Bill Holden scene
We need more comedy stars these days like Lucy and Carol!!! Non of this fake repetitive shit people churn out these days
Carol Burnett always had beautiful legs, yummm!!
