Exhaust tech makes me excited! And Ford decided to switch things up on the 2021 Ford Raptor with the 3.5 EcoBoost V6. Many of us have criticized the previous generation 3.5 EcoBoost powered Raptors for sounding like a vacuum cleaner. A far cry from the 2010-2014 6.2L Boss V8 Engine - a engine many of us love.
Ford redesigned the exhaust for 2021 and created an equal length system by adding a loop to the passenger side. This adds the needed length to match the normal bend length caused by the drivers side joining over to the passenger side of the truck. This is a natural bend on the drivers side, due to fuel lines and the fuel tank. By adding that loop on the passenger side bank tubing, the Ford Raptor now has a much smoother, and dare I say, more exotic, exhaust note.
I for one really like how it sounds, and my hat is off to Ford for trying something very few manufactures ever do. Well done!

Yup same thing with the bmw S55 on m2/3/4 the equal length made it sound way nicer and not a farty trumpet noise just like the raptor.

Makes for a much more exotic sound!

Why put the loop in it? Why not just run both pipes straight back side by side on the same side of the truck?

2:11 explains and shows why. A truck's drivers side bank has to transition over to the passenger side and that extra length on that bank, is now cancelled out by the added loop on the passenger side bank.
