Thanks from Canada, my recent contact with ford sales guy was that he was uninformed and bit lazy, I have been in sales and product development for many years and tried to politely explain to him that educating himself would reap great rewards, and that product knowledge is crucial. He brushed me off saying these trucks sell themselves and he didn’t need to know about anything except pricing and financing. Walked away and found a great guy at another dealership.
Mitchell, thank you for that. I have done multiple searches and watched 50 videos on the Sync 4 system. Combine all of them and they don’t add up to half of the information you’ve given in this one. Can’t wait for your Bronco videos.
Thank You so for this video, I just picked up my 2021 Lariat 2 months ago, the salesmen at my dealer didn't say anything about these features . I have been learning from day one. thanks again
Hi Mitchell, My name is Michel. I just take my new 2021 F-150 Lariat. After 8 months waiting...yeah! I am so happy that you did this video. You know there is so much stuff in the truck that i did'nt know where to begin. So thank you very much for your time. It is so helpful.
Thank you so much for making this video. I just bought my ford and I went back to this Video and watched all of it! Thank you so much for making this video
watching this in august 2023... my brother just had an f-150 built and delivered. I sent him this video to help him a little - he''s got some stuff set up, but is having issues with the display when he used android auto. Says once he starts rolling the actual map shrinks to a small sliver top of the screen... it maybe be an android issue, but there may be something here to help. I have not seen his new truck, but at least now I can see a little of what he's up against. thank you for post this, you did a nice job. now tell people to stop texting you at work (LOL)
I recently purchased a 2022 F150 Powerboost. I’m getting to know the truck. I traded my 2015 F150 for this vehicle and WOW what a difference. Ford has made many changes over the last few years. The dealership removed the Sirius radio and I am fighting them to have it put back in the vehicle. Your video is a big help in getting to know my new truck. Thanks.
Mitchell, one reason I like using Ford's built in NAV is during long road trips, you can set up a custom route the day before, save it, load it. Then next day get in and drive your entire route, even if it takes a couple days it stays loaded. Using car play, every time you get out, you have to activate it again. But, I admit Car Play does at times work better. I compare route selection between the two, sometimes they take completely different routes.
Very nice video thank you!!! coming from a 2013 F150, going to a 2022 F150. The technology difference is amazing. Like somebody else sit on here, my salesman didn't show me any of this.
Great video Mitchell, just bought a 2024 F250 Tremor and while the salesman did his due diligence in showing me a bunch of things it was like trying to drink water from a firehose. An hour down the road I couldn't remember squat. Still wish they'd give you a printed owners manual you'd think for 85k that would be doable. Good news there is you can print one off. Great video.
Well done, thorough.👍 I have Sync3 and plug in my phone for satellite view with google maps. Impressive to see roads, trees, buildings, parking lots, etc instead of cartoon images on old school systems. 😆”rear occupant alert”😆 I think one should not have a driver’s license if they need to be reminded about their “rear occupancy👀“
I just got into an accident with my 2019 Expedition and was totaled. I was amazed that it called 911 automatically even though I couldn’t find the phone right away. Definitely make sure you use it.
Thanks for the video! If it were up to the owner's manual, I would never have figured out some of this stuff. Also, I was given a small options manual for our 2023 Escape Hybrid and the manual said control for the Lane Assist was on the turn signal lever. It turns out it is actually on the steering wheel.
Great in depth video but I did laugh out loud when you said the Texas natural disaster of cold weather......hahahha. From up in Canada that was a good one lol
thanks so much, lot of good info here, i just got my 2021 f150, this is my 48th, yes 48 trucks i have owned, pics of all of them on my facebook page...
I bought a 2021 F150 lariat 7.2kw hybrid FX4 Sport 302A a week ago. (NOT from T&C.) I put about 600 miles on it so far and have already experienced a bunch of weird anomalies with the hardware and software, as well as the 12 inch display having a line of dead pixels. Which the dealer has agreed to replace, but, So far, in only one week, here’s what I’ve run into. - [ ] Lane keep assist turns on and off at random. Sometimes even when parked at idle. - [ ] Lane keeping aid steering wheel vibration alerts BEFORE going over center line when cruise control is on or fully off, but only alerts when over the center line by 2-3 feet when Cruise control is in standby (on but not actively engaged) - [ ] Lane keep active steering assist works well while using cruise control, but sometimes fails to keep the truck in lane when going through intersections, allowing the truck to cross over into the oncoming lane. - [ ] When welcome lighting is turned on manually using the button in the cab, it does not turn off when vehicle is turned off. Even when headlights are set to auto, which allows all other exterior lighting to turn off when the vehicle is shut down. The welcome lighting will stay on indefinitely unless you power the vehicle back on manually push the button to turn off the welcome lighting and then power the vehicle off again. - [ ] Navigation map orientation settings (3D heading up) does not persist after truck is shut off. - [ ] Rain sensing windshield wipers sometimes come on for no reason. - [ ] Sync 4 does not always fully connect with phone wirelessly. Some features work while others don’t. For example the map will show on the screen for Waze, but you cannot interact with it in anyway, the audio screen will show that music is playing when it isn’t and turn the power on off Or adjusting volume does not change anything. Bluetooth settings on the phone will say it’s not connected while certain features of wireless sync are obviously connected. - [ ] Occasionally main screen display does not come on. It stays black. Putting the truck in reverse results in the back up camera and 360 camera is displaying on the screen, but when you put the vehicle in drive again the screen will again go fully black. Pressing any of the hard keys for settings etc. does not bring anything onto the screen.
This we awesome! You filled in a lot of the small gaps for me. I'm always surprised how much sales rep's and dealers don't know about the very brands they sell. You Sir, do. Thanks again!
Boom Chaka Laka!!! Great info... Gonna purchase a F150 Hybrid Lariat for its towing capacity and the info you provided on the infotainment system was very helpful.
This is a fantastic intro to the Sync 4 system. Thank you, Ford and the presenter. I own an Android phone so it would be nice to have an Android vs Apple play! In any case, I wish my dealer sent me a heads-up to find this video. I found it on my own. Fantastic, thank you...
Very helpful. I just picked up my 2021 F-150 Super Cab Lariat on Thursday, April 15. There is so much to learn. The on-line owners manual is 703 pages long. Wow. No wonder they don't provide that in the glove box any more. We are really loving the truck.
Thank you for the video. Very informative. Will this work on a 2017 Ford Explorer Sport? If yes, where can I get a sync 4 kit and codes? Would a Ford dealership install this for me or would i need to go to a place that installs sounds systems. I personally don't feel comfortable attempting this on my own. Haahaa Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
thank you Mitch for the awesome Video's you have so professionally made for Ford very well done coming from northern Alberta Canada! Ive just got a new 2021 PowerBoost and appreciate it!
Give them a year or two, thats the time the Expedition follows after the F150 updates. Superduties follow close behind as well, and the 2022 already has the big screen sync 4 for next year.
Very informative, authentic tutorial! Thank you! I just picked up my 2022 F250 Lariat Tremor yesterday, and I’m still having a massive dopamine buzz figuring all the stuff out, how cool is all this?? - almost like Miss Susie’s finest pudding….maybe better…this setup being super cool, but ehhh a bit daunting for an old guy. Thanks for answering a whole ‘truckload’ of my befuddlements! Yup, it’s a one-way express ticket on the groovy train!
Love it, just can't stand the panel on the right, I wish you could just turn it off on every screen. It's a 12 inch display, why have a permanent "info" screen or whatever when the whole thing is an info screen?? It just takes up unnecessary real estate in my opinion
Bought a F250 super duty in May 2021. I don't have this version. A ew weeks in, took a trip from Utah to San Diego. The navigation QUIT. Was out for several days, showed me in northern Nevada while driving to Vegas on I-15. Luckily, I had my Garmin in the truck with me. , another time, it showed a "failed antenna ". Have had a couple failures where I could not control radio, orswith to I-pod, lost volume control, and it stayed ON while my wife & I were running errands. Definitely will bring these issues up, when I take it in for 1st factory recommended service at 5000 miles
I like watching these technology videos since I can learn how the system works before i buy a modern Ford to replace my 2006 Ford F-150 (bought in 2009) around the end of 2023. (I have an F-150 Lightning reserved)
I find it hilarious that a Ford dealer rep agrees with most all of Ford customers in that there is little demand for the Ford apps and navigation. The operation is noticeably bad when compared to even the most simple phone. I've been amazed for many years that R&D time has been wasted by all manufacturers on native stuff infotainment systems such as this while the popularity of the just having the ability to "extend" the use of each person's phone has clearly been the preference of the customers.
With the current chip shortage Ford also agrees and in some models navigation is deleted. People like paying for it but it’s not needed now with Apple car play and Android Auto.
Hi - Thanks for the tutorial. I have an elderly friend who wants to install an external CD player in his 22 F-150 XLT, which has Sync 4. His external CD player uses a single USB cable, which serves to supply power and as audio output. He's not interested in converting his CDs. He simply wants to be able to play CDs through Sync-4 using his external CD drive. If this is possible, could you briefly explain how to configure and use Sync-4 to play an external CD player with USB cord? Thanks for your reply.
WOW! An amazing system. You mentioned that it “locks you out” while the vehicle is moving… can that be disabled so the copilot can access it? Also, my grandson was watching with me and wants to know if he can watch movies and RUclips! I’m ordering a Platinum F350 next month with a Jan/Feb delivery time frame… sync 4 is standard. Can’t wait!
Love your videos and the information you share with us. Wish I was a bit closer to come shop with you but quite a ways from NC sadly. Question/suggestion for those of us that are totally confused by the new trailer sensor/sticker on our 2021 F150s (Maybe just me) could you possibly give us an updated video on how to setup the new system? I thought I'd use the stickers but the guide says that I need a software update before the stickers can be used (and Ford seems to have no idea what I'm talking about when I ask). Also seen some confusion online if the sensor is used on a conventional or gooseneck trailer (or both). Thank you.
2023 Ford F250 XLT with Sync 4. My Sync 4 does not have satellite option except when paired with my phone. I didn't realize that until after I purchased the vehicle. I did the research and understood that Sync 4 had Satellite radio but I was mistaken. My previous vehicle was a 2017 Chevy Silverado LT and it didn't have much, but it did have a satellite radio. I Love my F250 and glad I bought it but this was a disappointment. I wish I could add Satellite since it appears the antenna is there in the puck?
I just bought a 2021 f150 xlt it’s my first ford ever and I’m in love with it I’m trying to set up navigation through the ford pass app and I have no idea how to do it the salesman at the dealer said it can all be done on the app. Any tips? Love your videos
Excellent video. Owner's manual doesn't reference near what this video shows. If my new truck didn't have the power saver feature I would have run the battery down trying to figure out most of what was in the video and am still trying to figure out the lighting.
Mitchell, great video. Just purchased a 2021 king ranch and your video answered lots of questions. I still have some. Will look into further. Can you be reached? Thanks Pip from Long Island, NY
My 2020 Ranger has the over the air update from what I have seen...but I am still learning everythign just purchased mine about 2 months ago...I elected to go with a 2020 because it was a manager's special..(had 2000 miles on it and I got a really great deal on it being it a manager's special....it was literally still like bran d new

Walked away and found a great guy at another dealership.
Just bought a used 2022 F-150 from a Ford Dealership and my salesman didn't go over any of this. Man, was this video helpful. Well done Mitchell.
Mitchell, thank you for that. I have done multiple searches and watched 50 videos on the Sync 4 system. Combine all of them and they don’t add up to half of the information you’ve given in this one. Can’t wait for your Bronco videos.
Thanks bro! 👊🏻
@@TCcustoms_ any Idea how to add GPS software to sync4 on a ford 2021 bronco.
Thank You so for this video, I just picked up my 2021 Lariat 2 months ago, the salesmen at my dealer didn't say anything about these features . I have been learning from day one. thanks again
Not his job
I just bought a Bronco with a 12" screen so thanks for this tutorial. Well done. Now, I know everything. I feel like I'm ready for life again.
Yeah, they just have to make it first.
Hi Mitchell,

Thank you so much for making this video. I just bought my ford and I went back to this Video and watched all of it! Thank you so much for making this video
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Watching it got me off to a flying start settimg mine up on my 2023 Expedition.

I just got a 2022 Platinum, and discovered there are more features than I bargained for! - thanks for posting this.
Thanks for showing how to work this feature. Just brought a 2022 f-150 and your u-tube video has been a great help. Thanks again
Had no clue what my truck did til you showed me. I think I can use it now! Thank you!
Great job, thanks! Ford's really upped their game with this one. Makes the wait for the Bronco I have on order even harder!
I recently purchased a 2022 F150 Powerboost. I’m getting to know the truck. I traded my 2015 F150 for this vehicle and WOW what a difference. Ford has made many changes over the last few years. Just bought a Lariat today. Josh please stop calling and let the man teach me! lol Great video man!
Great tutorial. Subscribe. Love the tip about avoiding"running over little Johnny". LOL

Thanks! Just received my 2023 Ford transit ordered it 436 days ago. Lots of great information. This does have sync 4. 🤜🤛

Best video I have seen by far, thank you for taking the time to do this.
I just picked up a 2021 XLT last weekend with sync 4 so these video was very helpful. A lot of features I didn't release I had.
That was really good! I just got my Transit cargo van today and this was helpful. Thanks!
Very informative. I keep going back to refresh my memory.
Thank you so much. Just got a 2023 in California, and the sync 4 is a bit overwhelming.
Mitchell, thank you for making these videos! They are so informative and helpful!!
Great video 🙌🏽 I learned more on here than from my salesman who was in a rush to just have me leave from the dealership lol
Excellent video Mitchell 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Well done, thorough.👍
I have Sync3 and plug in my phone for satellite view

😆”rear occupant alert”😆
I think one should not have a driver’s license

At least that reminder can be turned off.
Great video. Bought my first Ford Monday. Thumbs up and subscribed to you guys.
I just got into an accident with my 2019 Expedition and was totaled. I was amazed that it called 911 automatically even though I couldn’t find the phone right away. Definitely make sure you use it.

I really appreciate this video. Some great info I was wondering on the SYNC 4. Looking to order an F150 Tremor in April.
This we awesome! You filled in a lot of the small gaps for me. I'm always surprised how much sales rep's and dealers don't know about the very brands they sell. You Sir, do. Thanks again!
Just ordered a 2022 F250 Lariat. Stoked about it having Sync 4!
Boom Chaka Laka!!! Great info... Gonna purchase a F150 Hybrid Lariat for its towing capacity and the info you provided on the infotainment system was very helpful.
Excellent review. Greetings from Puerto Rico.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching from Puerto Rico!

Did you ever get an answer to your question?
Great stuff, thanks for your efforts to make this content.
Great job! Very informative and humorous. Thank you!
thank you Mitch for the awesome Video's you have so professionally made for Ford very well done coming from northern Alberta Canada! Ive just got a new 2021 PowerBoost and appreciate it!
Just got my f-150 Platinum and I love it! Thanks for the info, I'll still be tooling around with the screen.
man, you did a great job. still waiting on my 2021 and now I cant wait to sit in my driveway and get it all setup
Great Video! I really wish ford would bring some of that design and tech to the expedition, I would buy a platinum this week if it did.
Give them a year or two, thats the time the Expedition follows after the F150 updates. Superduties follow close behind as well, and the 2022 already has the big screen sync 4 for next year.
Great video. Thank you.
That was a phenomenal video- thanks!
Love it, just can't stand the panel on the right, I wish you could just turn it off on every screen. It's a 12 inch display, why have a permanent "info" screen or whatever when the whole thing is an info screen?? It just takes up unnecessary real estate in my opinion
Same.. Really annoying
It's because they don't want your hand to extend all the way to the right while driving. Ingenious idea.
There's an update coming on the way that will allow for full screen Android Auto and CarPlay.
Seen a video that the guy stored to the left and it became "whole".... but i think it was only while using the nav
It sure is mind blowing. I just got a 22 Raptor. Have the same screen. Still learning.
Thanks for the great video it helped me understand my new truck which should be here in about 6 weeks
Mitchell, thank you very much, Ford has hit it out of the park!
Thank you for the most informative video ever 👍👍
I like watching these technology videos since I can learn how the system works before i buy a modern Ford to replace my 2006 Ford F-150 (bought in 2009) around the end of 2023. (I have an F-150 Lightning reserved)
Very very Good Information. Helps me better understand my New 2021 F-150. Thanks
I go to get my new truck in about an hour this video will help a lot thanks.
Wow!! Ford has made some significant changes here!!! Brilliant tutorial!!!! 😅.
Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you, Great tutorial!

Just got this truck. Phenominal!
Thank you so much for sharing this video
Great tutorial. I just purchased a Lariat Powerboost and am struggling to learn it all. Great truck by the way.
THANKS FOR AN EXCELLENT PRESENTATION 👍 👏 👌
Great info thanks, Mitchell!
Good video just picked up my 2021 f150 last week
Awesome tutorial
Can't wait to find a way to swap this into the 2015-2020's.
You can swap to the 8" version of the Sync 4 screen
Awesome video!
This was SO helpful to this 59 yo old schooler.
Best tutorial ever!!!! Thank you!
Awesome video Mitchell. Can’t wait until Ford puts Sync-4 in the Explorer

Nice job, Mitchell. Boom Shakka-Lakka-Lakka-Boom! 👍🏽🙂
Very helpful, thanks 💐👍🏼
Hi Mitchell,
Nice detail on steps using the screen.
Thank you for this video. Nicely done.
Can’t wait!

Great info. Just got our 2021 f150 Lariat and trying to name way points in the NAV section. Can this be done? How ? Thanks.

Excelleny video, loving sync 4 and the 2021 F150.
Excellent video. Owner's manual doesn't reference near what this video shows. If my new truck didn't have the power saver feature I would have run the battery down trying to figure out most of what was in the video and am still trying to figure out the lighting.
6:46 Are you not able to play MP3s from USB flashdrive and/or AUX port anymore?
Thank You Awesome as Always
Trying to find out if the Sync 4 has the following options. Park assist, Valet Mode and breadcrumbs mode?
Mitchell, great video. Just purchased a 2021 king ranch and your video answered lots of questions. I still have some. Will look into further. Can you be reached? Thanks Pip from Long Island, NY
I'm interested if this head unit will be OTA upgradable to the Android based infotainment Ford has planned for 2023
