Yes, please make more videos like this. Very clear and concise. Thank you for taking the time to do this for all of us just getting into this wonderful journey.
I made a wallet from a Tandy Leather kit back in 1976, which had all of the pieces cut out and punched, so all I had to do was the stitching, and whatever decorating and finishing I wanted. It came out nice (just one error, a stitch where I got the wrong thread on top), and it was only starting to wear out at the corners (one or two corners had a worn out stitch) when I lost it, 35 years later. No other wallet I've had, before or after, has lasted more than five years. So I watched your "How to Make a Leather Wallet" video, which showed me some really important things like what order to do the stitching, and now this video got me to the point where I feel like giving it a try. I probably don't have 35 years left, so this may be my last wallet! Thank you for your valuable help.
Absolutely perfect. I really, really hope we get to see more of this style of video. Really suits you and you are really good at talking and explaining. Thank you !
Corter Leather I am so glad that you did this. It was very helpful. You’re a natural at it. I really liked hearing your thought process. I would be super interested in a video on a tri-fold. I get a lot of requests for them and really struggle with the layout and spacing. I make it work but it’s not enjoyable. Thank you again!
I really loved this video, interesting and easy to follow. I would be interested in a video about how you glue your leather layers together. Some information on thicknesses, adhesive, limitations etc. To be honest I think I’d just be interested in anything you decide to post anyway, keep it coming!
I hope this isn’t to far of topic, I would love to know how to design a tool roll. You did an excellent job on this video, I wouldn’t be to concerned with your shooting equipment it looked fine to me and I’m blind in one eye. The sound could be just a little louder. Thanks for your time and smarts
Love your work and enjoy watching your videos. Your stitching technique is very interesting. I’d like to see a video explaining what stitch you are sewing and exactly how you do it.
Even though I’m getting reasonably competent at designing the wallets I do I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I wish I’d seen something like this when I started. Very informative and explained even better. I really like your videos with no narration but I’d also like to see more like this please. Thank you.
Thanks so much! We'll do some more complicated stuff too in the future, figured we'd start with some basics that aren't often covered :) Let us know if you want any specific topic!
Man, this is absolutely wonderful. It may be your first whack at a narrated video, but it sounds like you've done it a thousand times. I would love to see more videos like this in the future :) Keep up the incredible work!
Eric: First of all, it is very nice to finally meet you. This was probably the most enjoyable, easy to understand video on designing. Not necessarily leather wallets, but the process of gathering information and converting it to a usable physical item. I completely agree with your design philosophy. Form follows function. Again, my thanks for all the work you put into making all your videos. The camera work is terrific. The shots of the leather deliveries was wonderful (Christmas time?) My favorite was the lighter wrap. I made one. It works. Your sewing in mid-air still makes me wonder why you don't use a pony. I suppose to each his/her own. Stay safe and profitable.
this is one the single most important videos i have ever watched as a leather crafter myself (and i have watched MANY - and i include books). thank you, thank you for this my friend
It is nice to see someone that shows you how to break down your project and give you an idea on how it is designed great video thank you for taking the time to show me
Thank you for this! I watch your videos religiously and try to learn from what I see you do, and I'm so glad you decided to share this knowledge for those of us learning. I hope others appreciate it as well because I'd love to see more videos like this one!
This design video is amazing. This is really helpful. I've been wanting to get into wallets, and this is super helpful. Having you explain what and why you do things is great. Would love to see/hear you talk through the build too
Thank you so much for what you're doing. This is the only detailed guide I can see. Your videos have helped me not to be afraid to do what I want. I started making leather products thanks to your videos and I'm happy about it. I wish you well and prosperity! Thank you for being with us!
I am going to be making my own wallet as my first leather project. This video had all the information I was hopping to find, about making a pattern and how it needs to be setup. Thank you, I'm sure this video is going to save me days of of head knocking, and I know it saved me a lot of wasted leather....
Thank you very much for your videos. You really help me move forward and become better than I am now. I send you greetings from Russia and thank you again for everything you do. Good luck to you
Love it!!!! I've always loved watching your silent videos and have learned a lot from you in the past. This however was even nicer. Being able to HEAR all your steps. And as most others have said, you speak very well and clearly. I'd highly recommend doing more tutorials NARRATED 👍🏻
This is awesome. Just bought a piece of 1.2mm veg tan leather, some basic tools, and I am going to start as a hobby. It seems relaxing, and I will keep my eyes off PC Screens for the rest of the day (10+ hrs @ work is enough). Thank you!
Your new way in presenting is so useful. It gives me a better idea on how a design is done.. I would love o see more of this soft of format (with narrated in it)..
Thank you, thank you for doing a narration video, this is really needed more, love the silent videos but once in a while having a talk through really put things in perspective - thank you!
I use like methods to work up plans and avoid problems in hobby projects .. and since I'm now dabbling in leather, this helps much. Glad I stumbled on your video - thanks.
Not sure what else to add from the others. BEAUTIFULLY put together video. Your other quieter videos and this narrative... go very well together. Thank you! Very nicely done.
ABOUT TIME! Your’e actually excellent at simplifying the process. Just what I needed at the right time. I’m about 7 months into this leather crafting world and I love it. Your videos were one of the first I’ve come across and I was a fan ever since. Thanks 🙏
I've been stuck using patterns from others cuz I'm so worried about the fine details. Not only did you answer some of my simple questions (the half inch on the back layer for ext) you explained it in a way that makes me realize I can do it too. Never looking back now. Thanks for the excellent video.
HE HATH SPOKEN!! AND IT WAS WONDERFUL!! (More of this please, really enjoyed it. And thanks for teaching us, you are really helping me, and I'm sure many others.)
Thank you so much for making this video! For some reason, wallets have been a challenge for me, but I understand so much better now that I've seen this. Thank you!
I've been working on designing patterns for various types of wallets, card holders, ect. I generally just get on illustrator and start with business card dimensions and go from there. But I really love your workbook pages, super cool technique and waaaay easier to brainstorm multiple designs quickly. Always great to see the thought process of someone who's been a craftsman for years, so thank you for the video!
awesome video, I have learned most of this over the years through trial and error but you did a great job explaining it and I would have killed for a video like this when I was starting. No one does a good job of explaining the design part of leather work. Keep up the good work!
Incredibly helpful walkthrough of design and the principles behind it. This video will help a great many people who are getting into leatherwork and maybe even those who have been doing it for a while. Absolutely love this guys content.
As already been said. This is the tutorial I was waiting for all those years. Thanks mate. All the best for your partner and you have a great voice for presentation. 👍👍👍
This is an exceptional video. Very well presented and easy to follow along. I would love to see a video on stitching. There are thousands of them, but your hand-held style seems very efficient and it would be great to start practicing. I really liked that you brought personality into your videos.
Way beyond just being informative. I no longer have to try and decipher your thought process. Your providing a jump start to the whole process which highlights the obvious, that you are that good and now you know some of what’s going on in my head. But good luck keeping up with me.
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to share. I love your work and would be very thankful for additional videos of this nature. You didn’t just supply a template and show us how to put it together. This video truly mentors new leather artists how to reason out building a pattern of their own. I also loved your tips on questions to ask when accepting custom orders. Very informative!! The tempo and instruction was clear and easy to follow. Thank you!!!
With all that said please know I have learned from up your other videos as well! I didn’t want that to be lost in my last comment. I have learned quite a bit watching your previous videos and I am thankful for those as well. 😉 lol
A lady who worked with leather have given me a bag full of big pieces of off cut leather and I was dying to make some cool stuff with it...latey my daughter wanted to buy her boyfriend a wallet and we decided to make one for him instead ( didn't do it yet because we had no idea where to start off) but since watching your intuative video I know now exactly where to start off from. Thank u for this kind of video. It helps alot
I think this is a great video for a basic wallet design, but it would be great to see a bi-fold wallet designed with multiple pockets. A video showing the design of the "T" shaped pockets and how you obtain those dimensions would go a long way to help us with building those kind of wallets. Where I've have stumbled in the past was designing those pockets so that they operated well and not be too small. I have it down now, but I made a lot of mistakes getting those more complicated pockets just right.
Thank you, it's very helpful. I'm new to leather crafting and your channel very informative. Right now I'm working on my 1st project - a holster for earbuds with a belt clip, and this video explains a lot.
Perfect! Extremely helpful for me even though I have spent my entire 45 yr. Career building things out of metal and wood I was having my troubles formulating and fabricating a simple wallet out of leather. I was beginning to think I was losing my simple mind! I may be thinking too hard...
This is awesome and super helpful. I love the wallet worksheets. Great idea, and makes so much sense. I have been on a roll watching video after video of this stuff and can't get enough. I think your method for talking through it is super helpful.

I feel like my chances of a successful first wallet project are MUCH better now! I've been watching your videos for quite awhile, but this new format takes your videos to a whole other level!

Very helpful information regarding adding additional length to the outer shell. Thats what I’ve had trouble with, too much “bulk” at the fold. Thanks for the information guys!
Love this video. I just got my tools in and am waiting on my leather to get here so i can get started this was amazing to teach me how to come up with a pattern i can practice with. looks simple and it allows for some neat designs on the cover of the wallet.

Great vid. I watch a lot of leather crafting videos including yours and it was cool to hear you explain your methods. I struggle with those pockets and poor planning my projects. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming....
More videos like this, this is great for people just getting into working with leather.
Yes, please make more videos like this. Very clear and concise. Thank you for taking the time to do this for all of us just getting into this wonderful journey.
Will do! So happy everyone likes it, it was super fun to make!
@@Corter I agree. This was AMAZING. Having a baseline for some measurements is SOOO nice. Thanks!
@@Corter Really doing a great job at teaching us :) You are a valuable resource. Thanks Corter 🤓

I totally agree.
Bruno R. B. Silva Wow. Amazing quality profile picture. What camera did you take it with?
LEOY A i D E E 😁😁
Agreed. I'm new to this craft. I really like the camouflage diy job on the one wallet. Was it fairly simple?
What else should we cover in a narrated video like this (with better camera work of course)? Happy to teach yall everything we know!
