First lap ever with the new toy : BMW M4 GTS
Car comes straight from factory, no setting done on the suspensions or aerodynamics. The goal was just to feel the car before it went to Team Schirmer in order to receive a proper set-up.
Michelin Cup 2 tires, same for the Porsche.
The M4 probably does not have its full power as the water injection system is OFF hence standard M4 power : 430hp instead of 500.
MDM is used instead of DSC OFF as I don't know the car at all and the track is partially wet. It cuts the power a lot but still safer for now.

The driver in the 991 had no idea how to drive the car but who cares, these videos are all about great driving and you just proved that a better driver in a slower car can make the difference.

How M4 GTS is slower at speed than that gloriefied VW. BMW has more torque than Porsche and they have same hp but M4 GTS is little heavier but on roll BMW wins Porsche anyday

long live the E92 m3. the new turbocharged engine just has no appeal. The sound is so disappointing.

Actually the engine itself sound very bad also on the GTS, this is the titanium exhaust that makes it sound very nice in the end. With the vales closed the car sounds like a vacuum XD
I'm a track novice so that already looked quick! I had an E90M3 which was fun...debating what to get next...I really love the 997.2 Turbo...M2 is cheaper options too...moving to London from the US...so who knows..might make it to the 'Ring'

The GTS looked as though it had the advantage in a straight line over the 991. Driving was a bit inconsiderate from the 911 driver, he should have let you though. Entertaining though it was.

Jed Alaoui yep, it was not possible in the E92, but with the M4 you can keep the AC ON while lapping 👍🏼👍🏼

How did the m4 gts convinced you over the m3? Is the performance really that better?
The M4 really overperforms the M3, yes. A lot more power and the grip of the car is just incomparable. Not even talking about the quality and finishes. The only advantage of the M3 is the sound, but the M4 sounds very good as well, way better than what I expected.
The M4 sounds wicked. Sounds really strong and very modern. I like it.

I think you are taking about a sound produced by the exhaust when I suddenly shut off the throttle.

Apex 95 there were some dyno tests saying that this does make 500hp to the crank, but the germans advertised at only around 400

yes yes, i know.. but it would have been easier with just mapping the ECU or something like that. the fancy water tank also adds weight (in case its something in there) and its an inconvenient solution in general.
Maybe they did that to justify the astronomic price. No offense here, your car is still bonkers

Edison73100 indeed and it's very strange because his line is pretty good. He is also very fast on some exits. And so slow on some other parts...

Sorry to have to tell you that I have no clue about the setup of the car. I just asked Team Schirmer to do their magic on the car. If you are at the Nurburgring, I would actually recommend you to ask Raeder Motosport to set your car. Have fun!

Honestly we can all see that the gt3rs driver is at his middle level, nowhere near professional, and the m4 gts is nowhere near the gt3rs around nurburgring, as mentioned, power was not fully transfered due to certain problems . But lets say if it does have all the horses (500) it is still slower especially around corners . With that massive 21' real wheels and wider front track, naturally aspirated that revs nearly 9000rpm, its just another level . But, m4 gts is well driven, good handling skills, probably should study more about throttle issues

BMW M4 GTS can even it is limited from factory. It has limited slip diff and has speed limiter at 305 km/h
