Docking takes practice. Small bumps in and out of gear, and keep the wheel centered. When backing into a slip, you want to put the stern into the wind or current, whichever is stronger. Keep up the great videos!
As someone literally saving for a 330 Sundancer so do the exact same thing I am SO glad I found your Channel. Keep up the adventures and quality videos!
Have you never heard of the brand Heinz? The pickle is kind of the unofficial symbol of Heinz and a bit Pittsburgh. I have pickle pins from the 70's through the 90's. Uncle worked for Heinz, always had pickle pins to give to people. I did my college internship at Heinz and when I finished and left, my lab folks gave me all kinds of Heinz products, pickle Christmas ornaments, pins, a watch with a pickle as the hands, all kind of stuff.
I’m a wanna-be photographer and just recently took my new favorite photo in Pittsburgh my first time there. Took a cool cityscape shot at that same overlook.
@@BrandonGross we’d love to have ya!!!! Come on down. We have loads of beautiful scenery on the lakes here. Maybe u can do a small meet and greet with fans!😉
Back it in into the current, the benefit of two motors is far superior than a single, once you get it it’ll be like doing a backflip off 100 foot cliff.
Been there a million times!! Stressful as hell especially single handed with no onshore help in a new marina and in the dark!!!! Easy to say in hindsight but if the wind was blowing you hard on to the boat next door, it would have been best to go slightly past your berth and reverse into the wind before making your turn. The wind will act as a break on the bow as it swings and will momentarily stall before the wind takes it again, allowing you to reverse straight back. One you got the back in it’s no big deal if you get blown onto the boat next door as the fenders do their job. In and out of gear, wheel centred is the best way in normal conditions as others said but sometimes you have to allow a bit of momentum if the wind is really gusting.
Pretty cool living on a boat, I think next you should lift your sienna and off-road it while van lifing out in Moab 😁. Journeys off-road does a really good job, I lifted mine and love it.
Exactly what I was going to say! I have two motors and only use the wheel to help turn the boat even quicker in a small area but other than that, I hardly use the wheel for docking.
beautiful summer weather and long evenings are ideal for you to be able to go and enjoy some festival with your friends, the e-bike is so handy in these situations as well, good thinking Mr.B. Well, I hope you get that BIG sponsor so that you can make it down to Florida and Mexico, but I guess that would also mean a whole different way of crusing on that boat of yours. Lets say if there were some sudden bad weather and the waves became nasty, that would test you a bit and I hope that does not happen to ever, I have seen such scary videos on what those bad seas can do to boats! Whatever you do, stay safe! from your number one fan in Melbourne, Australia
If u want to back in with ease and control you will need to tilt your drive up until its close to the surface this act like a paddle with good control just make sure u don’t use to much throttle nice and easy works perfect
C I’m thinking of buying a live in yacht. Can you. Make a video about the downside of living on a yacht. Up keeping and things that are done differently like water and anything else you think we should know. Love your real life videos btw
I'm sure the comments are full of docking advice already, so briefly: The best way to learn is under stress so you did well. Keep practicing and over time you'll know exactly how the boat will respond to inputs. It will feel natural. Also, stop using the wheel when docking. Once you're in the fairway the wheel needs to be centered and you should be all engines. Drive it like a shopping cart. Pointing the I/Os in different directions while also trying to twin-engine-twist is going to feel very unpredictable and get you into trouble.
Hey Brandon! Loved the video! So cool that you have the ebike with you so you can travel around in the city! Oh wow a pickle fest!! I love pickles on certain things, but definitely not on burgers! Glad you got your boat back in the slip successfully! I can imagine goin in backwards would be extremely difficult, but I think you’d get it! Thank you for the vlog!! Hope you’re doin well! Love ya ❤
Hey Brandon, just a quick thought after seeing your bike on the swim platform....why not install a removeable motorcycle wheel chock and then you only have to use two ratchet straps down from the handlebars to eyelets on the deck / platform? You could even get everything powder coated white after a test install / fit up to look pro / marine application, and prevent corrosion if you choose to head south this winter.
Don't think you have enough range to make it between fuel stops on the Mississippi River. Thats one of many reasons most people take the Tennessee to the Tombigbee.
I've covered this in one of my more recent videos, but whether I'm boating down, or transporting it down, it's just way too out of budget. There's a lot of fees associated with transportation and with boating down, the fuel costs are just astronomical.
Glad to see things are going well. Something that could be included in your vlogs now that you have a boat are some dive videos? Not sure if this is of interest or not. Fuel is a beotch for expense, that is why I always dreamed of having a sailing boat large enough for a family. Hoping they come up with hybrid engines so you use less fuel in the future and get better travel range.
Do not touch the steering wheel when docking . I started boating on a 40 ft searay and had many scary docking situations . Practice and you’ll get the hang of it. Also It’s not called parking it’s called docking.
At least if you're headed towards Florida you'll have the current headed your way. Maybe save a little on fuel because of the current? Were you out on the river last night for the drone show at PNC Park? I saw a bunch of boats on the river and tied up on the sea wall on the North Shore
Yea...I don't think I've ever heard the phrase..."massive pickle" on any other channel 😆 what a GORGEOUS city! That's a whole lotta bridges...I would love to see more of the city and that entire area to be honest, I haven't seen really anything around there other than that one other yotuuber I mentioned last week. And...yea, I don't like pickles on sandwiches or hot dogs either lol
Regarding docking. Slow is the name of the game, the slower the better…you can use small knocks in/out of gear to manoeuvre the boat and if you’ve got a bow thruster, use that to tweak the position. Practice makes perfect. Great content, keep up the great work.
Good job docking, you did a great job!!!! Just wondering, how is there nobody there to help you take a line? Don’t people use there boats? 😂😂😂Take care dude🇨🇦

I'm having a 32 foot cabin boat that is pretty vulnerable to side wind. I was wondering, if you have a bow thruster? at least I can't hear one in the video. That does help a lot when doing it on your own.
Nice video 👍 Dude you need to get used to using the throttles to manoeuvre! Once you get the hang of it, you’ll have no problem reversing in those berths 👍 All the very best with a sponsor to get you to Mexico, exciting thought!! Enjoy 👍🇬🇧
