It doesn't matter which way you silp your boat. Most power boats back in because it puts the swimplatform closer to the dock and easier to board the boat. There's a social aspect to stern in boating also. "Ropes"......no. Once you take a "rope" on a boat it becomes a line. Dock line, anchor line, spring line....Lock line. haha Free dock usually allow 72 hour stay.

@@BrandonGross I have a gen 3, 2012 AWD. Rubbershox sponsored my build and sent me a set of front and rear spring spacers. It lifted it about an inch, but keeps my drive line straight and prevents sagging. Journeys is neat but you are still using a stock spring. You could actually do both (Rubbershox and a Journeys). Even with the lift the biggest tires that you can fit are 29.5" without fender hogging, which you can fit at stock height.

As soon as you get to Marina get the steering straight then don't touch it. Use your throttles on each engine to steer by putting one in forward and one in reverse. Don't touch steering wheel while parking.
Agreed that when you have a dual engine it is a benefit to do that. But it’s also good to know how to do it without as well. Incase he ever drives a single engine boat or he looses an engine.

Newbe here also, you called them bumpers, "you are a captain now so you are supposed to call them bumpers". l0l that's what I was told. This it's good information though... "Leaving a Fender Hanging At first glance, the captain skimming down the waterway with his rubber fender hanging overboard just looks like a buffoon. But should he cross a stiff wake, and should the crest of that wake slap the fender smartly, the force might just sling it right over the gunwale and into a passenger’s face. It’s dangerous to leave a fender hanging out while underway - and dangerous looks dumb". And beats the hell out of your gel coat.
PLEASE learn to tie a proper cleat knot. The issue is you need to be able to untie it fast, it’s called a cleat hitch. Get an experienced captain for a day to show you how to dock, it’ll save a lot of anxiety. Also get a couple of oversized fenders off Amazon and a pump. When docking just inflate them and you won’t need to worry about bumping anyone. I love this content, it’s fun to watch you learn all of this, it’s just that in boating it can go from 0 to 100 super fast. And it can be life threatening. Stay safe!
I agree with tying to the cleat. A clear knot is fast, easy, your boat won't float away, and you don't have to wrap your line around a cleat so many times.
@@BrandonGross no i think maybe a specific event, It could be hanging out with friends or just something interesting but time consuming that you know wont make it into the videos; I was thinking nothing longer than an hour
