Heya! Long timer viewer/subscriber here~ I love your content & style of videos! I remember siting my friends down to watch your videos and asking them whether they know of any Black and/or darker skinned YTers that make similar videos. They didn’t know of any & it seems like you don’t either (no shade, but none were mentioned in desc) 😅
Anyway, I did some research. Misako Envela is probably the first one I could think of. Chimdi Ihezie is pretty cool. Trinity is a little different, but also really great. It’d be cool if you (or anyone in the comment section) could recommend channels by dark-skinned women/people (especially based in the UK) ✨
I recommend jnaydaily/Janea's videos! She lives in LA, but does a mix of lifestyle, home decor, and fashion.

I follow a lot of incredible black creators on IG but haven’t found anyone new in the lifestyle/vlog niche on RUclips in a little while, which is annoying. I love Sammi Maria, Patricia Bright, Lina Mar and Tasha Green for lifestyle content and Khadija Mbowe and Adella Afadi for commentary ❤️

Please don’t say it was inevitable. Getting more people fully vaccinated more quickly slows the spread.
im currently isolating from getting rona now and its an unfortunate coincidence that i got it the day i was meant to receive my first vaccine! so many people my age seem to be isolating from getting rona or being in contact with someone, its awful
Yet they are ending the law on face masks and social distancing , are they trying to spread it, do they want another lockdown because with that behaviour it certainly seems like it.

Maybe I'm just being silly, but I'm not sure how I feel about influencers making these clickable thumbnails about covid like "we caught it" - I understand the nature of youtube, and a thumbnail like that can be engaging. I understand that influencers have a hard job of staying relevant - maybe there is a weird part of us that clicks these things because we want to see how that person deals with it. Yet, I just can't forget about those still suffering or have been seriously impacted from it - for them to then log on to youtube and see a comical thumbnail like that.. even though in the video Lucy takes covid very seriously! Maybe this comes into the debate of "snowflake culture" -I just think back to those first months of covid where the media was (mostly) respectful - and now it seems we're making it topical for clicks now that in some parts of the world it's less serious... I love your content Lucy, and please don't see this as an attack or something negative, it's your decision how you approach these matters, just thought I'd share my thoughts as I've starting seeing thumbnails like these emerge.

Instagram stole the stories idea from snapchat and that worked well... They’re good at copying other tech ideas and integrating them into their platform. Reels (imitating tik tok) is working pretty well already I think!

My boyfriend who lives with me had corona, had no idea he had it until a routine PCR (job related) came back positive and he was like yeeeaaah so I've had muscle pain but he thought it was from exercising. I never got it tho even tho we were living/sleeping/eating together and all. And this was before the vaccines were available.

It 100% happened at the football. Our case rates have JUMPED since the football, and male cases have gone up by about 30% since the football.

I'm at uni and I dont know a single person who isnt isolating, I've had to twice since mid june but thankfully I've not had it. Also love island! Really miss 2019 and 2018 love island :( this year is fine and getting better but not super invested in any of the islanders so far:/
It drives me nuts when I hear influencers talk about “the algorithm.” No big platform uses one algorithm, it’s algorithms plural.

Which vaccine did you get?
I'm getting vaccinated tomorrow but luckily the newly infected numbers are still low where i am (even with the delta variation and football). I am getting worried about vaccine effectivness seeing both you and Dodie being sick*
*edit: still going to get the vaccine, I'd just rather feel safe that we don't have to go through the whole qurentine thing again if the effectivness of the vaccine is lower than expected
Obviously I'm not Lucy haha but in case she doesn't reply she most likely got the Pfizer since that's the main one offered to young people (we're not allowed the astra zeneca atm which is the other common one). If you're a young person getting their first dose tomorrow, it will most likely be the same and offers you less risk from side effects than astra. Also since they're so young, they've probably only had their first dose (definitely the case for dodie) which means only a 10% effectiveness against the delta variant. Getting a second dose will offer more protection but, from what I've heard, less protection that you'd get from other strains. This is just kinda unavoidable with a virus that mutates as rapidly as covid. Finally, it's important to realise that the vaccine won't stop you from getting covid, it will just mean your body can fight it better. So you can still get ill but you might have been more ill had you not gotten the vaccine. Hope this makes you at least feel a little better!

I got covid earlier this year from my landords. It was AWFUL. Lost my sense of smell and taste for a month and I was so depressed. I hope you don't get it.

@@PeripheralPink Important to remember that you can still get very ill even if you've had both. You just have a better chance of not getting ill. It won't completely eliminate the bad symptoms so it's important to always remain vigilant and try your best to social distance and wear a mask (despite the government choosing to drop all restrictions when we're midway through a variant surge 🙃).
