- The ALL NEW off road Suburban Z71 has been revamped from top to bottom by Chevy. Under the hood is a 5.3L V8 pumping out 355HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic. The exterior of the Suburban Z71 has been revamped and the Z71 trip brings an aggressive from fascia, wheels and running boards. On the inside you get a revamped 10.2in infotainment screen, more interior room especially the third row thanks to Suburban first independent rear suspension. The Z71 package looks good on any Chevy
I agree but now it is a trim and not a package.
I'm always a Chevy man. The Z71 package is awesome. It even makes a Ford look good!

Now the question: Do you love such extra-large SUVs? Would you prefer it over Land Rover or GLS or X7 if given the choice? I’m not from the US but learnt that Americans love large SUVs. A Land Rover Range Rover is pretty large for me. I see one on the street and all other cars and SUV appears like a toy in front of it. It has a massive road presence. And Suburban, I guess, looks even larger. I wonder a Range Rover would look like a toy next to suburban.
When he gets to the glove box: "you can fit 2 NFL balls in the center, that is neat so you can play with your balls sometimes so that is a good thing". 😂🤣

Edward Valivonis When ventilated - yes. This isn’t, so no. I own driven vehicles with and without - makes a big difference, especially in hot climates!
hiroshima thompson My thoughts too. And as I don’t need or want something that size, I bought a VW Touareg with cooled seats and loaded. Much better vehicle than the overpriced Chevy!

Seems like manufacturers want to impart a sense of quality especially with interiors. But one wonders what the game is. What cost cutting is going on? What quality is the paint? The quality of the engine and transmission parts. Is it there intention to have it last only so long before expensive repairs or a new vehicle is required.
That is such a great point. To give in one area you have to take in another.
@@RaitisRides The car game seems complex. Manufacturers must make a profit which is fine. But is perception reality in the multiple facets of autos?
It seems soft plastics and screens are the name of the game now.
Most likely they can now cut costs on things that are newly automated, probably can automate a lot more now than even a year or two ago - means they can focus manpower on the nice things. Technology is developing damn fast.

I have a large family as well and currently own a 2015 LTZ with the bench in the middle. Best family suv hands down. Patiently waiting for the duramax combo.

Even way back in 2008 I had a Z71 Suburban. I went from NY to Disney in Florida. We get there and its Daytona Week. I had a time share to use and got there a day early. They wouldn't let us get in a day early and we went hunting for a motel for one night. Being Daytona Week it wasn't happening. We ended up sleeping in the Suburban (3 adults and 3 kids) at a McDonalds parking lot. We had food, bathrooms and DVD players for the nights entertainment. Some NYC apartments are smaller ! I now have a 2012 that I will be trading in for a new 2021 within the next year and look forward to going on a long westward road trip in my new retirement vehicle.

$68k for a vehicle this size is not too bad. The engine specs are a little underwhelming but otherwise this is a very good value package. The cargo area is amazing. The seats 💺 look very comfortable. Excellent review Joe!!! Thank you for the excellent videos that you and 👑 Vic produce. 👍

I wish you would talk about common problems on these 5.3 6.2 with the dynamic system.
The suburban Silverado. I watched your review and did make a purchase now I’m in a situation where this dynamic displacement has been failing/ lifters and it chews the cams . Chevy has knowingly let it go and said it will be repaired as they break. If you could please give the consumers a heads up it would help greatly and everyone would appreciate it .

The new exterior styling isn’t ugly at all but I definitely prefer the Yukon and glad GM has finally gave each SUVs their own unique styling as the looked so similar for so many years

this is the ultimate family vehicle. and the 3rd row actually fits humans now! i will admit the price is eye opening considering its a Chevy and is missing features but its very capable

Is the Z71 just an aesthetic trim or is the suspension different as well?
Looking forward to a Z71/AT4 comparo, now that the AT4s are coming out. I'd expect the upper level GMCs to have ventilated seats, but it's a miss that the GMC Denali doesn't have a full electronic dash. Regarding price - you never buy GM for MSRP. You can get Denali's for 10K off if you shop around. Similar deals with other levels. This and the Tahoe/Yukons are great for those that crave a large rig. But I suspect that many people will consider what they really need rather than what they want, and decide to save over 10K and go with the Telluride or Palisade.
They really need to add a midnight package soon. That’s what most of the buyers go for, especially if you don’t a totally different front end.

Debating between the Z71 and the RST package. Which one do you prefer?
The diesel is offered in the RST and not the Z71 if that is the engine preferred. Other than that, I wish they had the diesel in the z71 and cooled seats, not just heated.
How’s the arms rest on the second row? Was it wide enough or is it a zonk?
Its hard to find this kinda spray color paint. If any scratch happened, good luck finding it..

The Suburban gets a little better with each refresh, but for as long as it’s been around it should be a lot better. I noticed a small patch on the right front of the console lid. Looks like a piece of duct tape covering a puncture? Nice job Joe in the Florida heat! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Whatever the latest suburban xl is, is my favorite type of car or SUV. Always liked suvs since i was a kid and still do. An since cadillac and Chevy use the same chassis right? So its like getting an escalade without paying so much.

This is a great suv and I like how's there's a lot of connectivity but my only complaint is that there all USB c's. I mean I don't know alot of people who use USB c's. Regardless good job on the review Joe and keep up the good work
It easy to buy some USB-C cables on Amazon... I ordered some for my Ram 1500. For my iphone I bought USB-C to Lightning Cables.

I just bought my wife the 2020 Hyundai Palisade and it’s an absolutely astonishing vehicle. It’s an incredible design, build & engineering. It’s really unbelievable the luxury, technology and safety features that it has for $48k!!!
Not a huge fan of the frontend design, but at least it's not a huge Spindle or enlarged Kidneys. I do like everything else about the new Suburban, especially in Z71 trim.

I just bought one of these and can say,not happy with Chevy so far. First, sales manager said the running boards that come with the Suburban and supposed to be installed by dealer will be here in a week (obviously lied) as parts guy said they have been nationally on back order for a few weeks with no ETA. My 5'3" wife isn't happy right now. Lesson learned, don't buy a vehicle late Saturday when parts dept. is already gone. Make sure they are there to verify what sales people are saying. Also, no aftermarket running boards available and no weather mats to install currently that where supposed to be dealer installed. All on back order. The parts guy said chevy is having a huge problem acquiring and making the parts supposed to go on these. That is the current situation as of 07/22/21. A few months ago may have been different. Keep this in mind if thinking of buying one of these $70k rigs right now. Im hoping I didn't just make a huge mistake 😕. I wonder what else they cheaped out on producing these. I guess we'll see.
Chevy has really improved with the quality of their vehicles. It used to be Chevy, GMC, Buick, then Cadillac based on luxury, but Chevy has really stepped up!

I am deciding between the 2020 Golf GTI and the civic type r and am struggling to choose one. You guys can reply stating which one you would chose and why. I am also curious to see which one is faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile so if you know, feel free to let me know
I’d go for the type r, it’s one of the purist driving experiences you can get. It’s fun and it will be more reliable than the VW as it’s a Honda.
Did the mid row have thick enough arm rests?
