    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

    I worked for ADT for 10 years and installed hundreds of these ring doorbells. I love em. That's exactly how I would have installed it too. But we have a little trick in the trade to fish the wire through the wall. It's a chain and magnet. 😁

    Put some silicone caulk around the wire on the outside and inside to prevent air leakage in and out of the house!

    Excellent video, I know how to do all of this but it never hit my they would sell a power adapter for the Rings.

    Great job.....I just have one concern that always bothers me. Dont hold the cord and let the wall wart dangle. That cord is thin, and that adapter is heavy. I'd hate for you to do all of that work to find out that it doesn't work because of a break in the cord.

    Did we have to keep charging always to ring doorbell

  • @linden5576
    @linden5576 2 года назад

    Well I’m 61 year-old female, and I installed my doorbell “wired” ring doorbell camera. For some odd reason the wire for the doorbell that runs from my basement to my doorbell chimes into my wall and out to my push doorbell, is not very strong because it won’t keep the batteries charged on my new ring doorbell! So I decided to order this adapter and drill a little hole on the inside of my house wall, just like in your picture, and install the plug-in adapter.
    What I’d like to know, is it OK to connect my plug-in adapter wires to my wired doorbell wires and then connect both sets onto the back of the ring doorbell camera system?
    In other words, connect the adapter and the original doorbell wiring together and then connect them to my ring doorbell unit.!?
    In other words I’d have two power sources going to my ring doorbell! Or would it be better just to omit the original old doorbell wiring and cap off and just go with the plug-in adapter connected to the back of the ring doorbell unit?
    The reason why I’m asking is because number one, my doorbell won’t stay charged on just my old doorbell wiring.
    And number two, I don’t want to lose the original doorbell wire that come out of the wall by shoving them back into the wall and having them get lost!
    Thank you for this great informative video😁👍

    Once the adapter is wired & I screw it back on the door do I leave the battery in it or can / should I remove the battery? 🤦🏽‍♀️

    Alarms let you see who broke into your house but all you can do is watch him steal what he wants. To prevent break-ins you need active barrier protection, like more secure locks or door reinforcements and a police monitored system. P.S. with all the police defunding, don't count on the police showing up any time soon to stop a break-in.

      @@tjohn2097 No political comments made. I just said that a doorbell camera only let's you see who is trashing your home. It is not an active security measure.

      Technically a camera allows me to see who’s approaching my home so I can load my gunS then wake my family members and get them to a safe area where I can protect them!
      By your numerous negative comments here I’m left to assume you don’t like or use any type of doorbell camera. My question is, if you don’t believe doorbell cameras are useful…Why are you here?
