I’ve been watching many videos about this medication and I honestly don’t know how I feel about starting this medication. I do have a question.. how many mg were you on? How long did you stay in the hospital

How long did you take depakote before stopping and what were your dosage ? I have been taking depakote for almost 7 years.I have gained alot of weight and m always sleepy and tired. Warning...women who are of child bearing potential should not start this medication as it affect the unborn baby.babys are born with birth defects like neuro tube defect or spinal bifida or some malformations and now there are little studies that male parent who take depakote or valproate in three months prior to conception can cause birth defects neurodevelopment disorder or malformation.so please women who are planning to start this med do not take it and if you are taking it already then consult your doc and ask to slowly taper the medicine...do not stop this medicine suddenly as it could cause seizures and other withdrwal...medicine should be taper slowly in time course of 3 months .....1000mg to 750mg for 2 week ..next to week 750 to 500mg..next two week 500 to 250...next 250 to 120 and 120 to 40 next.......i am going to start tapering this med from 15 sept ..wish me luck

I've been taking hydroxyzine because I want to avoid benzos. I lay down and don't really feel much, but at the end of the day I feel calmer.

I have to take vistaril 25 mg. Only as needed. I don't take it all the time. And I have strange dreams to at times. I know mental health is a rough thing too. I have allergies as well.

If you research everything. You can go into any doctor and control your care. Periodt, educate yourself.

I love it. Over 10 years, no liver issues (blood work). You’ll know if it’s for you, because the first couple days will be like the best days of your life, like you feel stress free. You feel vibrant, you feel good for once. Take it at night. You do have take meds for months to feel real changes, you will gain weight on meds. It’s a mental illness there comes scarifies. After listening to you. You may be the problematic. The racial, cultural ish has nothing to do with mental health. It’s a chemical imbalance, just do your work. You may have ptsd w your bipolar. Watching this, you have a lot of work to do. Attitude is awful.

I have lived in a Skilled Nursing Facility for six (6) years. I am epileptic with VERY infrequent seizures. I was placed on Depakote after I suffered a grand mal seizure, traumatic brain injury, six (6) craniotomy brain surgeries and a paralytic stroke. A couple of years ago I realized that I had become sexually impotent. In January 2024, I made a New Years resolution to do 100 consecutive pushups. I reached my goal last month, but still had a fat belly. I learned that Depakote causes fat retention. I gradually weaned myself off of it and stopped taking it completely in June. The Skilled Nursing facility where I live is making money, so they continue to give me the pills. The drug mfg. company and the salesman are also making money. I simply drop every Depakote pill that they give me in the toilet. I will NEVER take Depakote again!

Thanks so much for your real input on how Levofloxacin affected you! I spent last night in the hospital with pneumonia and was given this by IV. I was released today as my oxygen levels were good. Like you I was scary sick…everyone including me was concerned! I have a 10 day supply of Levofloxin 750mg and it gives me encouragement to know how well it worked for you! Best wishes 🍀
