You truly start to love Heavy when you realize he's not a frontline class (He can be but still), he's a stealth/ambush class.
Most of the classes in the game benefit greatly from ambushing unaware enemies. This isn't an unique strength of the Heavy.
@@Techhunter_Talon but its the way you get the most out of the minigun. When you catch an enemy without cover anywhere close thats when you can finally enjoy the minigun's insane dps. while other classes (except pyro) do their damage in a burst, a heavy is basically a medium range pyro

Ok, quite literally in Lazy's words in the "How it FEELS to Play Scout" video, he points out that
*every class in the game would technically perform better if their opponents were always turned away, doing other things.*
So heavy is more of a front-line class because he is a front-line class _compared to other classes_ like sniper, spy, or scout,
because those classes are extremely weak once the enemy team is ready for them. Heavy can get by a defense fine anyway if he has a pocket medic.
His health pool compared to other classes is the other reason for this:
Heavy: 300
Soldier: 200
Demo and Pyro: 175
Medic: 150
Engineer, Scout, Spy, and Sniper: 125
or pretty much a moving sentry, but in the way that Uncle Dane sees the sentry, a building meant to punish overextending players... Pretty neat.

The title cards for the different chapters were actually inspired by the original Paper Mario although you could argue that the chapter screens in that game were inspired by Mario 3/All Stars.

the "evil betty crocker" gag is a reference to the long form webcomic "homestuck" which i kind of recommend but at the same time is also a gigantic rabbit hole.
About weapon realism and arm-time on rocket launchers, i would recommend you checking out the game "Killing Floor 2", their weapons are painfully realist, expect the more recent sci-fi stuff of course, but damn how i hate losing a round because my rocket launcher or grenade launcher becomes a glorified slingshot in close quarters because of that minimum distance safety haha
i mean with the rocket most dificultys a demo can insta kill a scrake with a point blank rocket thats like 3x damedge to the scrake

If I remember correctly, the reason why Betty Crocker is bring made out to be evil is a reference to one of LazyPurple’s fav webcomics Homestuck, which is this crazy long comic, its been called ‘The Odyssey of the internet’ and within that comic, Betty Crocker is actually an Evil Space alien, called a troll, that come’s to earth and slaughters near everyone on it

Fact: the reason rocket launchers have minimum distances is because rocket jumping was deemed to powerful to be used on the battlefield.

I'm a medic with about 600ish hours in just medic, and I have my buddy Steve who has only played Heavy for like 5k hours. It's always fun helping him stomp. Honestly we like getting on those all comms servers where both teams can hear eachother so we can laugh while they get angry. Man I'm going straight to Hell. lmao

@King Turtle II heres my take:
need 300 dmg to charge it or wait 1 min. it gets boosted charge by assists and kills. it upon thrown coats enemies in gas which count as wet, and gives them 30% fire and bullet dmg vulnerability and any damage done to them is cut in half and transferred to the pyro as health.
it can also remove afterburn, jarate, mad milk and marked for death...........
only penalty for this is that pyro has no effective secondary and maybe a 20 health reduction.

The stage-play look did originate from Super Mario Bros 3, but the specific look in the video is meant to replicate the look of Paper Mario, in which, when battling an enemy, the fight space is on the stage.
A TF2 creator you might enjoy is Mr. Paladin. His videos aren't insanely funny or anything, but he has a lot of good insights, not just on gameplay, but also in general.
Really like the idea how he enjoys the vid while also explaining some military and tactical stuffs. Ive learned more from this bro than my school😃.

Heavy is my favourite class in TF2 specifically because of his weaknesses. You have to be hyper-aware of both you and your enemy's position. No-one besides Medic requires such a degree of game-sense to succeed with.

12:00 Except the Heavy can instantly 'recharge' his sandvich by picking up any health pack while at full, or overhealed, health. Which, because it acts as a medium health pack, you can grab a small health pack and essentially upgrade it to a medium for your teammates. That said, if you're a Heavy completely on your own with barely any team backing you up then the banana is actually better because it recharges quick.

There is 3 option of heavy.
Normal heavy: wear what you want and use what you want.
Comunist heavy: Wear ushankasome other cosmetics what will make you comunist soldier and use Iron Fist, Sandvich (share), and Iron Courtin.
Hoovy: Sandvich (share with enemy), nice friendly hat.
Your mention of the Matrix makes me want you to react to the Matrix 4 Trailer...a little out of character but would love to see it
It's actually considered a good tactic to share your sandvich with your teammates because of the mechanics of how it regenerates. If you're at full health and near a small health kit, you can give your sandvich to an injured teammate to give them the effect of a medium health kit, then pick up the small health kit and instantly regenerate your sandvich. Likewise, it's usually a good idea to give your sandvich to a medic that's pocketing you, since their medigun works faster than the sandvich.

I can tell you right now that is the quickest way to make an enemy of your own team. Especially your Medics. Medics do heal over time. However, this is a very slow heal, and since the changes made in the Jungle Inferno update, passive health regeneration takes time to ramp up to it's maximum rate. If your doctor is missing half their health or is on fire, you don't say "I might need this sandwich later", you bean your doc with it, your sandwich will recharge(as strange as that sounds).

The "Don't Give Anyone Your Sandwich" item is the Second Banana. It has a faster cooldown at the cost of doing a little less health. Given to a teammate, it is the same as handing them a small healthpack, similar to the Dalokohs bar.
You should try reading the tf2 comics, they help flesh out the characters a lot!

Since you mentioned pyro, you should check out "Pirateer"s videos. He does videos on pyro, like uncle dane does for engineer. Might help you understand the roles pyro can play a little better.

Yo i recommend "Ham tf2" by dewill, its a perfect representation of what the tf2 community does on a 2fort server at 3 am
I feel it is worth noting that, while Pyro and Heavy are both positioning-focused melee classes that specialize in protecting their team-
Heavy is MUCH slower, and struggles to push forward, while not being limited by range as much as Pyro, as well as having a MUCH higher damage output than Pyro once he does get revved up.
As such, Heavy generally does better at controlling a space, whereas Pyro is better at doing actual team protection.
DEFINITELY do not hoard your sandwiches.
Heavy is strong, but he needs his team to protect him so he can protect him back.
Their support pushes him over the line from
'strong but easily chipped away' to 'unstoppable.'
As such? Keep your team alive, and they'll keep you alive.
Remember, they don't get sandwiches.
They need your first aid.

I think an exception to the sandvich rule you said would be giving it to medics since their main job is to heal everyone else, so it's better if they can survive for longer
I will say as a heavy main that heavy is not worse than pyro, In fact, it's the other way around what heavy has over diet heavy is that he shreds enemy's at mid and close range and can stay in combat longer because of his health pool and sandwich making him an ideal offensive and defensive class. Whereas pyro is most effective as a weird support class. So please consider this when playing pyro: heavy is superior combat and objective-based class than pyro.

about that minimum safe distance thing, fun fact about another game called killing floor 2. it has an RPG-7 in it and if you shoot it at an enemy that's too close to you, the rocket won't explode, but it will deal a ton of physical damage. It's actually something you want to pull off occasionally because there is a miniboss enemy that's resistant to explosive damage but weak to physical damage. it also has a chainsaw for an arm, so basically, you as the explosive class, has to go within melee distance of a chainsaw miniboss so you can point back its face with an RPG-7 because it's the optimal way to deal damage to it
It's funny that he references Iqan near the end but in TF2 lore the gravel wars have been going on for over 100 years because both sides are too well balanced to make any process.

10:15 on Vegas Pro, you just open the audio FX, apply the Resonant Filter, and set it to the preset option of "Teenage Late-Night Radio by the Bed" OR if you're manually applying these stats, you set the audio to 1,500 Hz, 20% Resonance, 100% wet/dry.
I play sniper so much, people don't learn they stand in the same cover even if they died there before. It wasn't camping by the way they had plenty of other places to go. The map was just a long road. They were just stupid.
