So many say summer is the worst time of the year and midday is horrible and sunlight sucks etc etc and I tend to agree BUT, you inspire! It goes to show that if you are truly creative, you can find a composition almost anywhere. Some great photos and advice here. Thanks for the inspiration.
I´m very thankful for your efforts to show us not only the beautyful spots in Island, Norway or somewhere else. Because I don´t have the time and money to travel to all these countries only for my photografic hobby. But you give us also motivation and hints to photograph where we are and live.
You clearly demonstrated that they are images to be made at anytime of the day Mads. You have a wonderful skill in bringing order from chaos to create beautiful work and today's video was an absolute joy to watch
Thank you Mads, aside from the great knowledge of photography you always so easily pass on to us, watching and and listening to your video, always brings great joy. Thank you
The wild garlic almost looks like snow in several of your photos, at least on my smartphone screen, that juxtaposition with the greenery captured in the rest of the image is a nice contrast.
Another great video. I recently purchased your first composition Ebook and it was super helpful and packed with great photography. A worthy spend for anyone wanting to improve their work and support a great photographer. Thanks for what you do!
I absolutely love your videos, Mads and it would feel like heaven to walk through a forest such as this just once! It really is wonderful to live vicariously through your eyes. Thanks for sharing your vision and your work.
Great video. The part toward the end where you explained how to straighten the trees in the photo stack was an eye opener. Would not have thought to do it that way. Thanks
THANK YOU for this! I'm an amateur photographer, and because of a busy schedule I often only have time to shoot in the middle of the day. This video helped me with ideas to improve my 'flat, broad daylight' woodland photography.
Absolutely amazing. It's a treat to watch your photography. Somehow it feels that you can speak through the photos themselves. Pushes me to improve as well! Keep posting!
Wow, that is an expansive display of wildflowers. We have multiple species, widely scattered and only a couple have mono specific displays. I really liked the oak tree leafing out in the canopy opening.
Thanks for the suggestion to tilt the camera up for the last frame of the focus stack to minimize wide angle distortion. Years ago I purchased a 24mm tilt-shift lens. It doesn’t go into the pack very often, but when it does I’m so glad I have that option. This video reminds me I have that option and could employ it more often than I have.
Hi Mads, great video of the wild garlic. My favourite photograph was the canopy overhead, that was special one for me. My own camera has quite limited dynamic range so woodland photography is always a bit of a challenge, so I often need to exposure bracket. I usually do this manually using a cable release so that I get the exposure range that I want and not disturb the camera. Sometimes the wind makes this impossible, so I go off and photograph something else and keep a note to come back to the location and try again. Keeps me fit.
the Garlic is such a beautiful little flower! also, what a beautiful place for a photo walk, snow in summer. lastly, I just finished your photoshop class... took a while because there is soooo much content and I'm not super comfortable in photoshop yet... I don't know, what I don't know.
Always useful tips, Mads 😁 it’s great to watch videos about the general concepts in composition and photography and being applied on location for illustration. Time for me to go out some more and apply them 🤣
Great video tips as always, I especially like how you demonstrated you can get great photos in mid-day light. I often find that it's the only time I can get to go out, and this video has given me lots of ideas
This video is just loaded with great, practical tips Mads. Especially "Border Patrol" and checking photos for movement/focus issues before leaving. Also, the more I hear you explain your centralized composition technique, the more I understand and like it to the point where I will incorporate it. Thanks for another awesome vlog! BTW, I'm Sooooo jealous at the sight of that incredible wild garlic display in that beautiful, spring woodland setting!
That's so great to hear, William! Really happy you benefit from my videos ☺️ And yes, I would definitely be jealous too if I weren't the one standing in it 😁
Great video Mads, we have had some great wil garlic fields her in the Amsterdam forest. So nice to see how you make your compositions. I sometimes also like to use my 70-200 and focus stack creating more curve in the forest paths and to optimize any slight fog. Cheers, Thijs
Beautiful stuff Mads, and great tip around tilting the camera up for the last shot of a focus stack series. Always try and fix that through the transform function but being able to address in the field seems to give a much cleaner result. Plus it's more time away from the screen when processing! Thanks a million
Dear Mads as always another one wonderful video and very helpful to us! Thank you for all of your videos. Please, i have one question. I have the Sony a7r4 with the Tamron 28-200. I know that you have also the same lens. My question is when I shoot on a tripod, I must turn off the IBIS or can leave it on?
I know you're a professional photographer and perhaps don't like the idea of sharing your raw files around, but I would love to see how other photographers would have done editing and post-processing on your second composition with the tree trunks. Maybe a roundtable discussion. Your edit is good, and very much your style, but I feel like it would have worked wonderfully in a more dark toned, muted way as well. Just an idea. Either way, solid video!
Great great video! some questions related to travelling with your gear in carry-on to Iceland. Did you have any problems with carry on backpacks going to iceland carring your gear? and what backpack did you use, capacity(lit)? the acelandair company, the max size of carry on is...55 x 40 x 20 cm, how was your experience with it? because i'm from Portugal i probably will have to take a 2 flights to get there. keep the good work. Have fun!
So much beauty! 💚🤍I have a question: I don’t have PS or LR (can’t afford it) and the app’s I use don’t allow me to photostack, are there any other ways to get a fairly sharp image? Or do I just ignore the whole idea and take a “traditional” photo?! Thank you for all this beauty!
I don't have PS or LR either (use DXO Photo Lab). I've used Helicon Focus for years and love it. It's designed to be a plug-in for LR but it works as a stand-alone just fine. It's also a company based in Ukraine if you're interested in giving them a boost. Of course, all the images you use for a focus stack have to be sharp to begin with in terms of no movement from wind or the camera. That can make photostacking try your patience but it's worth it!
Fed video. Lækkert sted. Til din Border Patrol,.... mon du bare skal have en større rygsæk hvor der er plads til en motorsav? Det gør det virkelig nemmere. 😁 Well done Mads. Tak for deling.
@@MadsPeterIversen Any chances to catch you in Aarhus? By the way I recently have also made bunch of pictures using that „white week” opportunity to use the blossomed wild garlic in Riis Skov :).
You use the same background music over and over. It’s not enjoyable. At all. Just show the photo. If I want to listen to annoying music I can do that on my end.

Amazingly beautiful, elegant pictures and precious composition advices as usual, thank you Mads!
Wonderful photos again, Mads! Its amazing how you find beauty in day by day scenes other may not recognize at all.
I’m glad you realize wildflowers are a dynamic part of the landscape. Really like the fallen tree amongst the wild garlic. Idyllic!

Very useful tips, Mads, and what stunning photographs of the garlic!
Magic photos of the blooming wild garlic. I will pass Kinnekulle tomorrow and it will look like this. 💪❤️ 12:50 was my favorite Mads!
These shots are beautiful! I can see why you get excited for the wild garlic bloom.

Love seeing all the wild garlic -so beautiful! As always, great composition tips. Thanks for the great info!
I like your wild garlic photos (actually, we call it _bear garlic_), but the oak tree photo (8:40) is the most for me, in this video. Thanks!
Fantastic images, Mads! You're inspiring me to photograph wildflowers more!

Thank you very much, Paul! It sure is. Probably the best for this we have in Denmark 😁

Great video, Mads. Now wish I had some wild garlic nearby :D
Hehe yeah, that's kinda necessary for wild garlic photography, but these techniques do apply to all my photography 🤓

There are some different programs dedicated to it. Just Google it and see what comes up. I do think most of them have some kind of trial period :)
You can try Zarene Stacker and Helicon for free, but the free versions do expire.

Mads, when shooting landscape do you shoot your photos in 4:3 or 16:9. Love your photographs great job man
I shoot in 3:2 ;)
