Is Hyrule Castle a Divine Beast? (Zelda Theory)

- Check out my updated theory featuring NintendoBlackCrisis! • Hyrule's Moving Castle...
Breath of the Wild introduced us to the Divine Beasts, which are large powerful mechanical beings used to defeat Calamity Ganon. Everyone seems to have their own beast-- except for Ganondorf himself. Could the raising of Hyrule Castle in the BotW2 trailer be a huge clue to Ganondorf's next abomination: Ganondorf's Divine Beast?

Not too sure about this theory, though some things to take note of that might help it;
Masterworks implies that Hyrule Castle has its own Main Control Unit..... which is something that appears within the 4 Divine Beasts!
In the library, within one of the secret passageways you can see a wall of some sort of Sheikah tech that's revealed from the dirt. Yes, it COULD solidify the Divine beast theory but after using the map it's obvious that the wall is supposed to be the exterior of the laboratory.
Aside from that, I really like your humor. Keep it up :)
Hey, alright! I feel like a celebrity just commented on my video. Lol
Thanks so much for watching my lil’ theory video and for your input. I enjoy your videos and have referenced some of them very recently in my other videos. I don’t take your advice lightly!
Great point on the control unit and laboratory! The way I envisioned it, I was thinking the castle would still be a functional castle along with being a Divine Beast; so to me a laboratory on this giant Beast would fit as well.
Once again this is probably the most impactful compliment I’ve received yet, as your channel is one of my favorites. Thank you so much :) I look forward to more great content from NBC, and hope you’ll catch some of my future videos as well!
NintendoBlackCrisis actually that sheikah tech texture wall inside the hidden library room is actually the exterior of the round wall to the cavern beneath the sanctum where you fight Ganon. If you face towards it and check your map you’ll see you’re just barely outside of the central cavern chamber, and facing toward the center. So it’s just the wall to the boss chamber, which was a nice attention to detail on the devs part ;)
Edit: you just pointed that out yourself later in the comment nvm I’m silly lol. Love the vids btw.

True
maybe
It has a 3D map so you know where you are and where to look :/
Uh shit
@@SCP-os6hk yeah its pretty easy. Multiple floors in dungeon, 3D map.
You'd think the four blight Ganons would have done more damage with their respective beasts. Each could've 1) Put the Zora on ice and trampled their pretty palace 2) flown splat into Rito pillar, knocking it over like a deadly domino 3) just stomped all over the Gorons 4) use the confusion from a sandstorm and zapped all the Gerudo to death. Why don't they? The Champions still have control of their beasts. Urbosa, Revali, and Daruk allowed the beast to move, but only in circles in a place where it wouldn't be directly destructive. Mipha managed to keep Ruta completely still so Waterblight just started crying profusely. How is this related to the video? Well, with Zelda joining Link on his adventures, there's no one keeping Divine Beast Vah Ganondorf from absolutely levelling everything with his boar-castle. Either she will have to return to struggle for control of Vah Ganon, or he will be a moving obstacle destroying everything we love. Or maybe him and the other Vahs will have some big mech battle on Hyrule field! That would certainly be... Wild.
Yez plz
That's a really good point!

What if Hyrule Castle already had the mechanizations of a divine beast yet the "Recent" Hyruleans didn't discover them yet, this could explain how Ganon once released takes control of it due to their lack of knowledge.
Also with the divine-beast like map and how it says ‘Scourge of Hyrule Castle’ like with the blight Ganons.

Hyrule's Moving Castle
Or is it the Hylians getting ready for a rave...
A Crab Rave to be exact
Ahem a big race to the triforce to be exact
Or the Yiga aka former shiekahs knowing them being very mysterious and the fact they plot and plan things ahead of time. Since they're followers of Ganondorf they could've had a plan to create a divine beast for Ganondorf in secret. After all divine beasts are sheikah technology.
Except now sheikas are just dumb and can't make what they used to
@@AliVe1234 true but before they got lazy the yigas probably built the secret divine beast before the became dull at creating anything
What if the pillars of BOTW were just the tip of the iceberg and the whole castle was meant to be protected by a gigantic robotic base all along. Ganon just wasn't completely successful activating the mechanism the first time around
Wait your saying hyrule castle is area 51?
All your base are belong to Ganon.
This makes sense, especially with the way the shiekah slate's map turns into a similar 3D type map. You just are not able to pull any switches like with the other divine beasts, and dont tell me it is because Hyrule Castle is like a dungeon... most of the area is outdoors. Yes the beasts have outdoor parts too but more than 50% are indoors, as opposed to the castle.
What i am saying is that I certainly believe there is more than what meets the eye.
Totally agree; really nice take away with the sheikah slate!

“UMM OK LETS JUST ADD SOME CONTRAS AND SOME LIGHT AND HU-HOLY MOTHER OF GOD”
Ni no kuni: we are the epitome of ghibli art style
Botw: hold my moving castle
At the end of Botw you beat the bligth of the castle like you win against the other small ones. But didn't know it was a "Divine Beast" so we didn't see or find or look for the console to take back the controle of it, so it stay in Ganondorf power. Why it didn't move? Because Ganondorf is still a sealed corpse downstair. Cannot operate it, his blight maybe can't and was just watching over it. But Ganondorf will be able to operate it after is awekening in the cave. Maybe the castle going up doesn't happen right after is awkening, this is just a short trailer, maybe he need to go to the castle to operate it and when Link and Zelda get it of underground they see the castle moving because Ganondorf got there and take controle of it.
For the construction, I think he could do it by controling the malice to construct it piece by piece without anyone notice it
Or after his awkening he start building it during the game and Hyrule castle is the final Divine beast of botw 2
A few things to point out that actually may support this theory; 1) On page 374 of Creating a Champion, it says “Hyrule Castle itself had a wealth of Ancient Energy that was more valuable than money.” 2) It was established that Gannon did suddenly emerge from under Hyrule Castle on page 380. 3) The columns around Hyrule Castle were built to house Guardians (pg 382). With all of this, Gannon certainly had everything he needed, and _if_ he did actually build his own divine beast, with so much Calamity, and it being the _essence of evil_ I certainly would not want to be around when it emerged.
Love it!
So i was right, the library did hide the divine beast in the castle.
Its why the great plateau is a divine beast.

I think he could've had it created as a backup plan, studying and building it after his first sealing. Who knows the sheika might have originally used the divine castle in the first battle so Ganondorf knew of its existence it just took longer to corrupt and modify to his tastes.
Imagine if ganon went through the castles library and looked at books that have info of hyrulian mechanics.

I think it might be a machine built by the Zonai/Sheikah to move Hyrule Castle in case of a emergency. OR its the room where they find Ganondorf an it used malice to move it.
Maybe Link's glowy sword hand will give the Master Sword energy so it won't break
Or maybe, it consumes energy and the sword breaks faster

As soon as I saw this I completely agree. If Hyrule Castle isn't rising up in the air, it is certainly standing up to move around on those 5 pillars (legs)! I think the original castle was turned into a shrine after Ganondorf was sealed with the Malice, and the current Hyrule Castle was built on top of it.
I'm thinking there will be temples and the final dungeon will be the walking castle/divine beast or something
Wow someone finally realizes it.
"how do we escape Calamity Ganon?!"
"we take hyrule castle, and PUSH IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!"
Hyrule Castle did have a 3D map like the divine beasts. We won't know until the game releases. It's an interesting theory and it could explain how easily Hyrule Castle could be lifted off the ground. What if the hand was connected to the Hyrule castle divine beast and the hand was the rider for Hyrule Castle? Seems unlikely, but still interesting to think about.
Very interesting indeed!
the concept art from breath of the wild shows that hyrule castle is floating.. and knowing nintento.. this might be true...
Well when you say "divine beast with legs" it sounds crazy. But the idea of Ganon taking over Hyrule castle isn't new to BoTW - ocarina - so laying it out like this makes a strange kind of sense.
What really made me chuckle was the beginning. All the zooming and brightness adjusting... Only for there to be nothing noticable on a mobile device screen. So it looked pretty much the exact same.
Never seen you before but thanks YT for recommending me this. This is good funny quality content. Subscribed :)

You're welcome dude

Your question of "What could Ganon possibly do next?" is very valid, but while he may have a divine beast in the castle, remember Link took out 4. If the theory of Ganondorf the Hero is true, then that means Ganon the beast is a different being living inside any given Ganondorf. So, if the man is just a host for the beast... and the host is no longer good...what better host body to choose next...then of the one boy who singlehandedly destroyed an entire army? What if BotW2 is Zelda and/or good Ganondorf (revived by spirits due to the emergency) versus a Ganon-possessed Link?
OH GOSH
that was awesome man, sounds like a theory to me...
You've been very active lately, nice to see more content from you!
Thank you! Just trying to get my ideas out there :)
Just subscribed love your vids keep up the great work 👍
Just want to throw this out there...
A lot of people have detailed the connections between BotW and Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli's work, particularly Princess Mononoke.
Just saying, Ghibli made a movie called "Howl's Moving Castle"
Sorry for using swear words but... what the fuck is wrong with ghibli studios and legend of Zelda comparison!
This is a big stretch, a tad off topic and I have not played breath of the wild yet (Shame on me I know and I want to play it badly) But what if Ganon and Ganandorf are two separate beings in a sense. What if Ganandorf doesn't have full control over the Ganan part of him and the Ganan part of him almost has its own mind set and makes Ganadorf THINK he needs him when in reality Ganadorf would be more refined and focused without him and so probably Ganandorf in his current state had Link kill that part of him. Kinda like how the Hulk works in a matter of speaking. I figued that's why it's probably backwords this time where we kill Ganaon 1st and now Ganadorf is free to have 100% control of his thoughts instead of like 60%. The ganon part of him probably caused some madness in his head though still had the same goals just, couldn't focus well enough to complete them. and now he has full control of his action and can finally calmly think about his moves rather than have Ganon's Primitive thoughts clouding his actions.
I actually really like that! I did a video a while back (May have even been my first video) about Ganondorf and in it I mention I’m a fan of the Ganon/Ganondorf split theory. I think it’s backed by lore.
Oh man I didn't know you had a video on it. I'll have to watch it. I also think over his life times his Ganon state has become more and more primative and out of control. You see in OoT that he does have control over it but then in Twilight it has become more of a primative beast. Now in Breath of the Wild (Though my logic is very very limited on THIS ganaon) it has become this pure essence of madness and Ganandorf had to finally rid himself from it. It would be cool to see a more calm and less mad Ganandorf though still has the same intentions just more suttle.
That 'BUT' image cut was genius
Wouldn't it be cool if that thing would just walk around like an actual guardian, except unlike normal guardians who only walk in a certain place, this one can go everywhere.
you missing something important, ganondorf has been binded for over 10000 years they never fought the true ganondorf, they only fought his malice.. you cant kill the real ganondorf without holy weapons and canonically link didn't use it in botw. you can harm him without the master sword in this game.
You also recall that in the downfall timeline the Seven Sages were able to cast light magic on him and imprison him, which was also demonstrated on Ocarina of Time. Which is exactly what Zelda did to the malice
@@victorhale that was a sealing that broke in a few hundred years but normal attacks never beat him.
If this theory is true, then maybe the map for Hyrule Castle is a hidden easter egg with the glowing orange marker in the center (over the Sanctum) being a reference to the eye of a guardian...
This was awesome. So funny. I'm personally thinking the castle raised up like one of the shrines or towers, and that the "legs" are just breaks in the clouds. But, this video was so expertly crafted with hilarity; I give it two thumbs up (but am only actually able to hit the thumb once).

"hyrule moving castle" i see what u did their japan
The "above lava" aspect intrigues me seeing as Death Mountain is so nearby. That would be fascinating to me that we might see the Castle hovering above lava again. This Ganondorf is the exact same person we saw in OoT and TP. The Plateau was relocated to another location on the map of Hyrule and it is the location of the Temple of Time, so we can assess that BOTW has land-mass hovering within the realm of possibilities. Could it be that Ganondorf is in some way attempting to utilize his original plan but is taking his time with it to be more effective? He's fought against two Links before, so this time, he bided his time for thousands of years. The final bosses we fight in BOTW could simply be his phantom along with the Blights. I guess we'll see. I like the idea that this is his original plan but spread out over the course of a long time period.
let's see.. we have an elephant, a salamander, an eagle, a camel, aaaaand a castle.
So your hot pockets leak too? ;)
Well you know it’s a built in Hot Pockets feature lol
Now it's confirmed, it doesn't have legs but it floats
Thank you so much for noticing this detail! None of the other theorists have mentioned this and I honestly thought I was losing my mind.

I really like the theory man, it honestly one of the small but true ones out there. You have earn yourself a sub for sure!
Well thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Hyrule Castle could also be the main Sheikah tech hub. In another theory by Nintendo Black Crisis I believe, he made a good point stating that Ganondorf's corps could be the fuel to all the Sheikah machines. In this sequel maybe Ganondorf does not build this machine but instead simply controls it. However it does not make sense why he would not have done that in the first game since he took control of all the other Sheikah tech.
could be a giant monster under the castle and Ganon just woke it up or resurrected it, either way I didn't notice the legs so thank you for that. I'm also a new subscriber to you and i'm really enjoying your work, keep at it mate and good luck with future theories and i wish the best for ya.
Great content, great organization, great speaking voice, subbed...
Well thank you! :D
I think Ganondorf's taking over sheikah technology was cover for what he was building in the meantime, a "Divine Hyrule Castle". That's why Ganon was mindless during breath of the wild and had no knowledge or strategies while fighting Link. Ganondorf was working on a plan the whole time, scaring Hyrule enough to keep them from exploring Hyrule Castle.
Why is every Zelda fan not subscribed to your channel? Love your content and theories.. keep them up bandit!
