      Well, I think Demise cursed the very blood he was spilling after being fatally wounded by Link and thus created malice. This substance seems to be able to withstand time and might have lured a power hungry, but not very strong Ganon(dorf) with a promise of power into service as the vessel of it.

      @@bastienlafleur5838 that goes along with the theory that the dark interlopers were sheikah defectors who turned against the royal family and created the fused shadow with shadow magic to subjugate the sacred realm to gain control of the triforce, which almost happened had the goddesses not sent the light spirits to stop them. Back when OOT first came out it was stated that the tear on the sheikah eye was added after the sheikah betrayed the royal family however it was never brought up again storywise until Botw where you have sheikah defectors again called the yiga who flip the sheikah sign upside down signifying they have no remorse for the past betrayal perhaps

      @@bastienlafleur5838 I understand that and I agree but they could still be making the technology even if they are magic users and the Sheikah tech could have magic infused with it and that is why the kingdom can't figure it out and maybe that is why ganon was able to take over the tech because his magic was stronger. Also we don't know how far Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time are away from each other plus we don't entirely know where BotW fits in the timeline.

      Yeah there's a few holes with this one. Largest is that in the original LoZ ganon had abandoned his human form and was reduced to ash. Why would Ganondorf's corpse exist still and why wouldn't he be back amongst the living if his minions were actually successful in procuring the blood of the hero

    • @mindsight9732
      @mindsight9732 3 года назад +10

      @A B It's a stand alone theory, that is fun to toy with. Throwing out everything you know because it contradicts a theory, that has holes isn't meant to stand tall. SS's Ancient Cistern really counters this theory on it's own. The other hand this theory is less about factuality and more about design thought process.

    • @grantconquest3313
      @grantconquest3313 3 года назад +10

      @A B the original legend of Zelda, Ganondorf doesn't appear. Ganon abandoned that form in OoT downfall time-line. At the end of the NES LoZ he dies and is turned to ash. Assuming that what was said in the video is accurate, how is Ganon's human form back and why is it mummified instead of being fully restored?

    I love this theory because it gives the original Zelda and Zelda II significance in the timeline theory. To me I've always thought the Downfall Timeline was a dumping ground for games that Nintendo had a harder time fitting in the other two timelines, with the exception of A Link To The Past, probably one of the top 3 Nintendo games of all time. This theory gives those original games more narrative purpose in the big picture.

    This is pretty good. I do still think Malice seems to have been around since SS, as the poison purified in the ancient cistern basement or in the depths of the shadow temple of OoT. It is presumably the opposite of Gratitude, gems that can alter the world in positive ways seen in SS and ST. But this malice type of BotW does seem different, and it may be due to a unique circumstance this Ganondorf has went through. Though I do also remember the ALttP manual said the knights of Hyrule had to protect the Sages from waves if Ganons Malice coming from the Sacred Realm. Maybe it's unique to the Ganon who held the full Triforce?

    I can't accept Malice being an "unexplained goop". Just the idea that it might be Link's corrupted blood is far too interesting to ignore. Not only am I going to choose to believe this, but also the idea that Link's spirit is trying to something to prevent Ganondorf's return. For all we know, That could be Link's hand, plunged deep within Ganondorf's chest, forcing him down closer and closer to the depths of the Underworld where he belongs

Perhaps we will se malice in this forms on the sequels. Imagine seeing the champions’ corpses reborn using malice and moved as puppets by Ganon. That would be terrifying and not to far off.

    TLDR link needs to actually kill Ganondorf and not the blood puppets(btw i know that will cause him to be reborn).

    i have a follow up, in Demises curse he said " A blood soaked sea of darkness", in BoTW they say " Malice is a type of substance which sullied water during the Great Calamity " what happens irl when you drip a bit of blood into water, it infects the water and also i completely back up this theory because of the Dark Links, they still contain the Blood of The Hero because they are tainted by Ganons power and i have another theory to back this up, Veran, the shadow queen summoned dark links, they were weaker in the second game but they progressed to be as strong as the hero himself, so i say i back this theory up and i love it, it is completely valid! dont underestimate yourself!

  • @Carter_443

    I have a theory of my own I think I know where the tomb is in the sequel of breath of the wild is. If you look in creating a champion page 312 it’s about the forgotten temple and the top picture shares some similarities with what the tomb looks like, on that same page it’s says,”The entire area has become unstable due to shifts in earth’s crust.” And then it says “due to the calamity?” If they do go back in time like other theory makers have suggested, when the Hyrule castle rises that could be why the forgotten temple was destroyed. Of course this theory has many flaws but I thought it could be something inserting to run by you.

    1. Guys, it's literally Demise's hate. Can we stop this thread? It's just physical form to his hate.. Period.
    2. Nintendo already specified BotW's timeline is all of them unified.
    3. Ganon (and calamity ganon) are not clever in their nature. As their heart is full on hatred alone. The cunning traits of calamity ganon were shown in his domination of the divine beasts and almost destruction of Hyrule. He is intelligent.
    4. His body was malformed because Zelda interrupted his development.
    5. Purple is the Japanese equivalent to darkness in the West. It just means evil.

  • @mblum1611

    I dig this theory! Having never really seen Zelda II materials, I would never have come up with this one myself, so I love learning new things. I do have a few ideas, though:
    1) I buy it as blood, but would consider it more likely that it's Ganon's own blood or ichor.
    2) I don't really believe it's a Link's hand, but consider this: It took a LONG time and utter catastrophe for Zelda to awaken her powers and after the Calamity is defeated, she loses contact with the goddess and can no longer hear the sword, so what if that's actually Hylia's hand and she has been struggling to contain the Malice to buy her people time, slowly being dissolved in the process. This dissolution could have led to Zelda's inability to access the powers her mother had once experienced with far greater ease. Simply put, it's not the blood of a hero which has been corrupted, but something far more powerful: the blood of a Goddess.
    3) I would place BoTW where it has been suggested: at the end of all timelines. The way Gorons, Rito, and Zora are all present, the constant callbacks, it feels like a multiverse attempting to reform itself into one timeline again (which was utterly botched by Terrako's attempt to undo Hyrule's Terrible Fate). I wonder if perhaps Terrako's new timeline is one too many for that multiverse to handle, and some very painful choices may have to be made in BoTW 2 in order to stabilize the world?

    I love this theory!! I think that the hand is pushing malice through Ganon's body. Either to keep the triforce away from him or to keep it from activating. Maybe the triforce senses the blood of the hero and resonates with that. The hand is flushing malice through his body to keep the triforce of power out, so it doesn't recognize Ganon's blood at this point and won't resonate with him.

    The blood theory is definitely possible. As for the hand draining said malice it could just be a hasty attempt to stop a revival. The malice being drained is to prevent the actual remains of ganon from being brought back and leave him mummified, and in turn said tainted blood could have bits of Ganondorf's power but since his "True" body is still technically alive the other recreations of himself are far more mindless since they aren't true direct incarnations like each Zelda and Link. The malice is Ganondorf's corrupted blood being constantly drained to prevent true revival but still technically counts as ganondorf still being "alive"
