- Who hasn't seen the Breath of the Wild sequel trailer by now, and who hasn't studied Ganondorf's lifting of Hyrule Castle? Could it be that the castle holds a Sheikah secret that's been right in front of our eyes this whole time-- could the castle be a Divine Beast? Huge thanks to @NintendoBlackCrisis for helping out with this one!

There was something that had a bit better graphics but it somewhere on bottle grotto it looked like it was using malice to push the player out of the room
I think it could be a mechanism similar to Balamb Garden in Final Fantasy VIII. I have to say a divine beast battle similar to the Garden battle from Final Fantasy VIII would be pretty sweet.
@@ianboast9928 final fantasy is very not similer
And the pillars are there from Ganondorf to hold it down and in place?
Remember in Ocarina of Time Ganondorf pretty much replaced the castle with his own structure so maybe something like that is going on.
The simple thought of a giant, spider-like guardian nest/castle moving around in Hyrule creeps me out.
Imagine if the four divine beast are trapped in the castle
I think the theory of the Hyrule Castle flying thing is thanks to the laboratory, (see the battlefield where Link fights Calamity Ganon).
I imagine it'd have a divine beast laser too. So you'd try to invade the castle and you'd get _demolished._
Yeah my brain is imagining that and I am terrified

That was my EXACT same response!
I don't get it!
Calamity Ganon battle resembles Metroid Prime's last boss fight, especially when the boss destroys the ground to cause a room change, and then both you and them have to go down to another stage.
Imagine the castle is like a guardian and run towards you attacking with lasers
That would be both the most terrifying and epic boss.

Underrated lol
That does sound really cool btw
I like this idea a lot! Hylia raised the kingdom into the sky after it became apparent the land was doomed. Could be that Zelda has to do it again in BOTW2.
Thats kinda wat i was thinking it looks more like underground power lines then legs to me
@@mastersword5178 what do you mean?
I think the castle was moved there for two reasons;
One: The castle has an active role in imprisoning Ganon's real body, dampening the malice that comes out of him with the Sheikah tech in the room aiming at him
Two: The castle acts as a focusing beacon intentionally for all 4 beasts so that any time his malice reformed, they were always instantly prepared to fight him with Divine beast blasts and the brunt of their guardians the moment he appears.
Either way I look at it, I believe the Sheikah and Hyrulians of eons past KNEW that his real body was there, but I think perhaps somewhere down the timeline that knowledge was lost, and it was lost at disastrous effect. Not only were they ill prepared, but the malice somehow learned and took them unaware using their own defences against them, in a way even the ancestral Sheikah did not think possible.
Nice breakdown, another theory would be that they put a chamber to put Ganondorf then proceeded to put the castle above that chambe so the there was no way that he couldn’t escape
That first theory is really interesting, but we still don’t know for sure wether or not that the place their holding Ganon is right under the castle
I always thought those "legs" in the concept art were roots. I dunno why.
They looked like roots to me too, which is weird considering it looks like a mountaintop.
They looked more like roots to me too, they still do. Also, the concept art looked more like Death Mountain to me, but I looked closer and then it looked like it was snow capped, so what do I know?
that's what i thought too, but the 'legs' look too big/long in comparison to the floating mountain, so you'd need to have some pretty huge trees on the mountain for that to be the case.
Hey so just throwing this out there. We also saw the castle floating in future hyrule in ocarina of time. Ganons castle, either being hyrule castle with a big makeover, or just built overtop the ruins of, floating above a lava pit, albeit without the mecha tentacles but floating nonetheless
in the legend of zelda series, i see 2 main other flyng thing :
- the City in Skyward Sword.
- the City in the Sky from Twilight Princess.
Don't forget, there's also the Palace of the Winds (in TMC, as well as FS/FSA)!
Ganondorf's Castle was hovering over a lava pit.

Hey that could explain how the castle got from the plateau to where it is now!
no the original castle is still in ruins on the plateau. the castle we see in BOTW was built after the plateau was moved from the center of hyrule, somewhere between OOT and TP
@@strappymasksalesman2819 nah its the remains of the cathedral only i think this makes perfect sense

Holy shit. I wasnt convinced but this is a really interesting theory. The only thing I would say to refute is that the trailer that was shown at E3 is not necessarily in order
Anyone elses heart still jump when they come across an unexpected Guardian stalker even though you've already killed a million of them? I'll be crapping my tunic if that Castle gets up and starts walking.
Same! Even though I've faced hundreds of them by now, they still scare the shit out of me!

Ganons castle(hyrule castle) in ocarina of time was also a floating Castle over lava
7:40 I think at Hyrule they did this, because they want to separate the temple of time from Ganon, because they wanted to separate him from the sacred realm, so he couldn't get the triforce.
But the Triforve is in Zeldas posession...and She LIVES in the Castle...that...dosnt makes a hole lot of sense. The Triforce hasnt bein i the Sacred Realm since Ocarina.

The more I hear this theory, the more it makes sense (I'm also a Howl's Moving Castle fan). And when you think about it, the developers admitted that they based the layout of the game after Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke so I have no doubts that BotW has elements from all the Ghibli films.
EDIT: WOW! Never expected I'd get over 100 likes on this! THANKS, GUYS! 😄
I mean they both feature huge amounts of Shinto elements often with a slightly European coat of paint but that can be said of the entirety of the Zelda series. I hope Miyazaki likes all the flying elements, we all know how much that man loves him some flight

@@lannahuxel98 I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!! 😄😄😄😄😄
No wonder Princess Mononoke reminded me of BotW when I first watched it. I thought it was just because I was playing it by that time
Maybe the central control unit/ancient furnace is in the inaccessible great hall in Hyrule Castle? It’s one of the more central areas in the castle and would make a lot of sense for the controls to be there. Also, there is access to a balcony through the observation room, so they actually had a view of where they were headed. I’m just kind of guessing, but maybe consider it.
It’s amazing how different yet ALIKE both of your styles are! These two vids were great fun to watch! Amazing work to you both!
I genuinely love how your audio flowed in this video. The fades and dramatic switching of tracks was 10/10 😍💕
Another thing is when you entered there the Map of the castle comes up like it does with the Divine Beasts and you are actually able to leave the area not just by walking or flying out, but you can actually leave by warping out of there like how you warp to a shrine. I thought it was weird that they would give the castle the ability to warp out of there like a shrine warp
Chuck the Ruckus wtf this needs more attention...
That’s just because the castle has to have a 3D map because of its multiple floors and rooms that couldn’t be conveyed in a conventional map system, and the ability to warp out is just so you can change to the normal map
Why does noone talk about the dungeon roof in the BOTW Sequel trailer? There are guardian-like legs in the roof on top of Ganondorf's Corpse.
Im really exited for Breath Of The Wild 2 I just finished the first one a month ago

I plan to face Calamity Ganon after I max out my Champion’s Tunic, I also need to prepare my arrows and some food. Any tips on beating Ganon?
@@bostonwu1800 just doge his attacks and if you have only one shield for the first phase just doge the lazer and in the second phase he will turn orange and you won't be able to hit him endless you reflect his lazer back at him or knock him off the wall with either reflecting the lazer or Urbosa's feiry
@Eli Murphy
Will 35 Arrows, 30 Shock and Ice Arrows, 12 Fire Arrows, 49 Bomb Arrows, and 12 Ancient Arrows suffice? I also have 2 Ancient Bows, a Savage Lynel Bow (+9 ATK bonus), Royal Guard Bow, and the Great Eagle Bow...
@Eli Murphy
I already have the Hylian Shield and Master Sword and have FINALLY maxed out my Champion’s Tunic. I feel confident in my weapons and gear, but it’s my overall stats and skill that I’m worried about. I only have 13 Hearts and 2 Stamina Wheels and I’m not that great at parrying Guardian Lasers, so I tend to rely on Daruk’s Protection and Stasis. And I’m somewhat average at dodging enemy attacks but I tend to accidentally press the crouch button whenever I try to dodge, which I can get over with after some trial and error. Should I try looking for some more shrines? And do you have any tips on knowing when to press A to parry the beam?
@@bostonwu1800 right when you see the blue energy building up right when you see that animation parry and it will go back into its face I did that to Waterblight Ganon my second time beating him the second time was way more easy because my first time I didn't know how to reflect lasers
Levitation I suspect is the Ganon-fueled spirit energy.
Tinfoil hat: after the events of OOT and Twilight Princess coupled with the thousands of years of development of Shikah tech, they made the castle mobile and moved to where Ganonndorf was being “sealed” and harnessed that energy.
I suspect that the castle has protocols to evade Ganondorf so, with his waking, the castle also wakes to move vital tech and information away from his grasp.
Wouldn't it be more logical to say the great plateau moved since the castle is roughly where it is in orcarina of time and we already know that there's some sort of divine beast under the great plateau
The divine beast in the great plateau likely isn’t big enough to move the entire plateau. It would just make more sense for the castle to move instead of the great plateau.
@@bandanadeesupremacy332 that makes sense thank you
@@bandanadeesupremacy332 though one of the most prominent theories since botw realease has been that the lost woods and the great plateau moved so to me the the most likely explanation as it also further lines up with oot map with lost woods being at the South (if they did swap) lake hilia and Gerudo desert to the west kakariko to the east death mountain to the north east and lon lon ranch in between castle town and the lost woods
I always thought the castle moved from the great plateau and the great plateau swapped with the lost woods. Also am I the only one who thinks the castle moved from the river of the dead on the great plateau and not the eastern abby?
I think that it was teleported sort of like the things from tp (sorry I forget it’s name)
Hear me out;
What if, in BOTW 2, the castle divine beast rises and starts walking about Hyrule and it's up to Link and Zelda to defeat it. It then has this line of sight which if you enter it it'll shoot massive laser at you and alarm all guardians of your location
Maybe it uses a big light similar to the one of the Guardian drones, and Link and Zelda have to hide under ruin roofs, trees or in the bushes/plants.
Settle down Satan 😂😂😂
Everyone: those divine beasts concepts look sick
Me: that looks like a lot of work
Maybe the castle was moved on top of Ganon to help seal him away? Maybe the castle moving is a sign that Ganon has "awoken" and maybe even escaped.
You were right. New trailer out.
Maybe they had to change the castle's location due to when Ganondorf was captured by the "magical blue hand"? The castle now lies above where Ganondorf sleeps so the Sheika could keep an eye on him up close, perhaps?
Maybe the Royal Family made some sort of "agreement" with both the Sheikah and the Zonai in order to keep Ganondorf sealed below the Castle.
If you, NBC and Zeltik ever did a three way colab I think I would die. I love this theory so much, I can't wait for the new game!
I'd also like to point out that Ganon's Castle in OoT was FLOATING above a pit of lava.
So, if this is The Legend of Zelda: Ganon's Moving Castle, when do we get The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Mononoke?
Simple- that’s botw one- since botw was confirmed to take inspiration from Princess Mononoke
Imagine if scale were to be taken into consideration, if Hyrule Castle were a Guardian-like entity, imaging the laser that thing could fire...
Maybe the castle was one of the divine beasts that helped take out Ganon 10,000 years ago, and he was still kicking, so parked on top of him.
Maybe the castle will move and reveals the entrance to the underground
You mean the place where you fight ganon?
I think I found the entrance to the cave where Ganondorf is found.
Where?
@@IATEALLTHECHEESE it is the floor itself in the stalnox room. It looks like a giant sideways vault door.
Kid: Mom, can we get Howl's Moving Castle?

@Eesa Khan Did you read the *what* *if* part of my comment? I know they probably won't be .
Maybe there will be a new boss(not another fake ganon) in the malice blocked hall in the castle. I imagine it would be a difficult unique boss and requires a type of trial or key to access it. Like a divine beast? I personally think this would be a really cool touch to the game. If you read this thank you and have a nice day :)
Edit: Thanks for the likes! 😁
Hyrule Castle ups and moves, has a big weapon similar to the Divine Beasts?
Snake: "Metal Geeeaaaaarrrrr, it can't be".
makes sense because all 4 divine beasts had an "scourge" in it, and happens that Calamity Ganon is also an scourge, as shown in the beggining of the battle against him...
What about the castle town ruins and Lon Lon ranch ruins near where the castle is in BOTW?
If this is the case (where the castle is a mobile devine beast,) then i would speculate that the devine beast under the great plateau is also a mobile "DB," and of this is the case it would lead me to believe that there is another mobile devine beast under/in the lost woods, the reason for this is because of one of NBC theory of the great plateau and the lost woods having swapped locations, (because of LOZ OOT's map locations) that is my theory.
Ps. I also belive in the time travel theory from June/July
If the castle is a shiekah howls moving castle, Ganon/ the malice could be controlling it like the divine beasts now he has been awoken
This is a great video, love both your channels, I remember the original theory video too!
"Allow us to humbly present...Hyrule's Moving Castle." As a Ghibli fan, I see what you did there, Mask, lol.
Easily one of your best and most extensive theories thus far! I'm so proud of ya, brother! And sincerest congratulations on surpassing 25k subscribers!
I'd like to add a tie-in to Twilight Princess on the grounds of the similarity between the Ocarina of Time Hyrule Castle Town ruins present on the Great Plateau and the ruins of the Sacred Grove, also the former site of the Temple of Time, in Twilight Princess, along with the relocation of Hyrule Castle which took place at some point between Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess within the Child Timeline. Therefore, there is present already a precedent for Hyrule Castle relocating and certainly isn't a stretch by any means. In Twilight Princess, we see that the castle is undergoing construction of some sort, whether it has been newly built or if repairs and maintenance are simply being carried out; however, in the Sacred Grove, we never see any structures that appear they could have been Ocarina of Time's Hyrule Castle simply abandoned. Could perhaps, as in Breath of the Wild, the castle have been relocated in its entirety by some method between Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess?
Wow this wasnt edited

@@agent_8167 seems legit.
Only a little bit in and this has already got me thinking of Howl's Moving Castle & Phantom Lord's Guild Hall.
I reallylike the idea of the castle kinda roaming around hyrule. When you come across it, you could chase it down andmake your way inside and maybe have a chance to get cool stuff from it. Like special foods or powerful weapons.
Well, the castle is literally moving in the trailer. So i think its safe to say the castle has the ability to move. Which is this whole video?

With how much technology the Sheikah have made, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went secretly apeshit and were able to make the castle suspend in midair or fly, and those ‘appendages’ dangling from below the castle in that concept art are actually just roots and/or disconnected pipes? The Sheikah are basically MacGyver with their tech, so why wouldn’t they just go for the whole enchilada and make the f$&@er fly?? Great video!!!! And maybe, if those ARE legs, it also makes sense since in the art they’re Sheikah Guardian looking. And the idea that the entire castle ACTUALLY migrated is huge(and a cool idea) too!
The entirety of Hyrule is a Divine Beast. That's why entire landmasses can just move across the kingdom between games. Greatest theory, 10/10.

When BOTW first came out and I began my game, I recognized the Temple of Time, saw the ruins of what once was Castle Town, and then became very confused as to when the hell the castle WENT. I know the game has been out for a long time now, but I remember very clearly being totally confused and thinking that, and then running around thinking what the hell is going on here? I completely believe that Nintendo did this on purpose, knowing fans pickup on minute details because of our love of the series. They really love messing with our heads! I really like this video, and agree completely! Also huge Studio Ghibli fan here, so love the references! You have a new subscriber 😊
If the castle moved (especially if it floated), I would CRY. Castle in the Sky is my favorite Ghibli film.
Ok, this was very cool. You two are quite the team. I am very much looking forward to BOTW 2. It will be interesting to see if any of your theory takes form.

Yeah I agree
This blew my mind
I'm still not sure about this one BUT I've been reading through the Creating a Champion book and under the guardians there's text that says "In addition to the Guardians that ended up in the game, there was a design for a giant, fortress-like Guardian that was equipped with multiple beam cannons, but we were ultimately unable to implement it." Who knows if by giant fortress they meant castle-sized, but the idea of a big moving structure was there, apparently.
Just subscribed, great theory video. I fount you from NBC video. Looking forward to watching your past content.
Nice to meet you :) I hope you enjoy!

the castle having legs blew my mind!!
This is so interesting!!! Though I wonder if Hylia is the one making the castle move up. I mean, they could of been the is to switch the korok forest and the great plateu if you've seen that theory
This would be so cool if the castle gets up like Howl's Moving Castle and starts walking. Add in some Shaddow of the Collossus vertical traversal and it would be the coolest thing
The one thing i'm wondering about in BOTW, what are those pillars? Were they there from when Ganon was slumbering? like objects that kept him sealed? did he put them there? I actually never thought about whether those broken walls on the Plateau could have been parts of Hyrule Castle.
2 things:
1=if you slow down the frames when the castle emerges, you can see its standing up like movements, witch are similar to the ones a "sleeping" guardian stalker makes when it "wakes up"
2=anyone notice the pillars from around the castles? legs maybe?
It would be cool to have Hyrule Castle function as a giant guardian, as a pre-final boss maybe.
