I'm glad someone else sees sense with the boring PRS tele. The Andertons video was the nail in the coffin to me, as it sounded so much worse than Pete's actual tele! I have and enjoy a Silver Sky SE but I can't see myself ever going for this tele.
The actual person Paul Reed Smith declares that poor people are poor because they don't work hard enough, but when it comes to his job, he just copies Leo Fender's homework.
In all honestly, does the NF 53 have anything in common with a Telecaster other than a single cut and barrel saddles? Headstock, pickups, nut, bridge are all different.
Oh, this was a quite wonderful episode. Interesting and entertaining on a grandiose level. As much as I love the Diablo video game series and celebrate Jackson's guitar as a gimmick, I wouldn't want it. But it was fun to see it. Love the format and I look forward to each episode. 🤘🏼🎸
so many good guitars and pedals going for stupid prices for hype right now. both vintage and new 🙄 if you are just looking for a great sounding and affordable analog delay pedal try the donner yellow fall analog delay for 35€ or the donner digital delay for the same amount of money and decide for yourself if you just buy both and save 470€ here..cheers 🎸
Please get the Stew Mac hardtail offset kit if you're able! Been interested in it for quite a while and you're one of the creator's I'd love to hear opinions from!
I'm in total agreement with Andy's opinions about everything listed here, except the AI "designed" pedal. AI "creativity" is just a tactless fad and I yearn to see AI applied in a meaningful way not as gimmick. Also I would've put the DM-101 above the PRS T-Painful, yes the DM-101 is expensive but it's glorious and I want one. Unlike the PRS's which are so ugly to my tele loving eye, they make me sad.
Mr. Geek :D I agree about the PRS "Tele". Given it IS a PRS, its release will have to be a big deal but that doesn't make it good. Like others you've heard from, I agree with the sentiment of "let's wait for the SE". The Powers Electric releases are way more interesting :D
Hoping REVV sends you a review copy of that distortion. And I think PRS got cheeky when their strat-type did well, so they are trying a tele-type. And I am afraid I echo your opinion of it. 😎
Speaking of Delays. I own a 1966 Fender Echo Chamber (its a real tape delay) and i modded it out with Echo Plex parts and did some circuit changes and its CRAZY good. You can find in need of repair for $200 around. I know the Boss is awesome, but its $500 and its not even a REAL tape delay. I love the Echo Chamber after i modded it, before it was modded not so much. So dont let people tell ya the echo chamber has no hope, it does. Now to just make the hi and lo mode footswitchable and im good ! :-) Thanks for the videos
I can't tell if you think that the 24.875" scale length is odd because it's not commonly used, or if it's because of the number itself. If it's the latter, it might not be obvious to someone who's not used to seeing inch fractions in decimal form that 0.875 is just ⅞.
Nice to see AI can't design a chip. That means The Terminator scenario won't be played out. Phew! That PRS tele is an expensive joke, but that last Powers guitar looks intriguing as anything!
The control circuitry on the DM101 looks to be the same as the DD500 (and 200 for that matter) but running an analogue signal path. Could be really wonderful for analogue delay snobs...
The Kelly is my fav Jackson shape, so I'm always happy to see it getting some love. The PRS tele is one of the most uninspiring guitars I've ever seen. Hard pass. On the other hand, it's nice to see an actually unique electric guitar. Some really interesting innovation, fair play Powers.
I wanted to like the PRS tele, but it kinda left me meh, mostly style wise. Usually if theres two things you can almost guarantee from prs its that it will play well, and look nice. By all accounts it does play well and the NF pups do offer something different... But I just cant fathom how they dropped the ball so badly on uninspired utilitarian styling ... at 3k! Though plenty of others seem to love the styling and colours, so maybe its just a marmite personal taste thing.
@@SlaughteredDecay yeah, a painted body with a bolt-on neck and a gig bag... The CNC machine is doing the bulk of the work, and Andy is spot on with the neck pocket. I bet my Sterling CT50 Cutlass has a better neck joint.
The PRS is fugly! There are a couple of bits, the bridge for example, is pretty neat but I will not be rushing out to buy one. $3000 and a gig BAG?!?! Seriously?
The Powers Electric guitars look astounding! I'll have to check out some sounds of it! For the PRS FS53 and Myles Kennedy, I don't mind the shape of them (the pickguards are an odd shape, but almost like a take on the batwing pickguards of the SG and some other Epiphone models), but I think where I struggle with these is the finish choices are kind of uninspiring and not quite screaming "$3500 USD guitar". That said, the sounds you can get out of the Myles Kennedy sig are pretty great sounding! I can only assume both models feel and play fantastic. I wonder if white pickguards (normally, not my preference) would drastically change the appearance of these guitars...
My only interest in the Myles Kennedy signature is due to the pickups sounding great, in a distinct way, and its neck being only the fourth (or fifth if you consider the NF 53 as sufficiently different) which suits me in the entire PRS range (the others belong to the S2 Standard 22, Fiore, and DGT [I have an SE]).
The PRS is absolutely horrid looking. The colors, the wood grain tops, maple necks/fretboards, cutaways, etc.. then, the price!! No thanks. I'd rather go for any of the Fender line, or get a used Fender CS, Suhr, etc, for the same money. They should have called it the Southern Sky and made it more traditional looking. The Power's guitars look great, though! Id love to try out one of the burst, and hopefully, they'll offer a hardtail.
Although the Powers Electric isn’t for me, it is awfully cool. I think the pickups of the regular NF PRS (not the signature one) look interesting. But if I were to get a PRS, I’d be getting a Standard 24 instead of their takes on another company’s guitars. I do think they’ll be very happy to sell a few boatloads of SE models when they come out. That’s where the margins are. The DM-101 looks very interesting. While I’ve found myself going almost completely digital, I do like the idea of having a separate analog-only board someday.
Hmm I totally agree regarding the lack of innovation...... But to me, the original Tele is one of the most bizarrely proportioned designs I can think of... I would take the Miles Kennedy PRS all day, I like that the scratch-plate, reminds me of an SG and I'm interested by the narrow-field humbuckers. Just my 10 Cents!
As if I couldn’t like this dude more, he’s not afraid to slag on the PRS strat and tele! Cheers homie!
Yeah, that PRS is butt ugly.
3,000 for a T shaped guitar with mini humbuckers not for me.
I loved your honesty on the PRS. 100% agree.
I really enjoy your “picks of the week” episodes. Short, well done, good humor, and good fun blessings
Love this format Andy. Brilliant mate.
I really love The Week In Gear videos, Andy. Keep up the great work!
The way they "altered the bridge"?!?! Well played Andy! Hahaaaaaa
I'm a Tele player and I'm stubborn as a mule when it comes to Teles, I only like them with single coils and they must be very traditional.
Leo got it right first time, though my favourite tele is the esquire custom
I could understand a mini humbucker in the neck, but it’s not a tele without a tele bridge,
I'm glad someone else sees sense with the boring PRS tele. The Andertons video was the nail in the coffin to me, as it sounded so much worse than Pete's actual tele! I have and enjoy a Silver Sky SE but I can't see myself ever going for this tele.
10 for 10! Look forward to 11!
I laughed when the bridge was the only redeeming feature of the PRS for you considering Mastery had been making Tele bridges like this for years 😂
Mastery makes similar saddles but the top loading bridge is different.
The actual person Paul Reed Smith declares that poor people are poor because they don't work hard enough, but when it comes to his job, he just copies Leo Fender's homework.

That Powers Electric is the kind of curve ball I really enjoy! The Boss DM101 tho 🫨 proves why boss is the boss of pedals.
That Bose delay looks beautiful
Please get the Stew Mac hardtail offset kit if you're able! Been interested in it for quite a while and you're one of the creator's I'd love to hear opinions from!
You like the way the altered the bridge! Doh!
1:05 LOL 😂#3 and #1 - WOW splendid picks of the week

The DM101 looks good value against the Suhr Discovery.
When is Stewmac going to open a warehouse in Europe? I am not going to pay the same for shipping as I pay for the guitar... Just sayin 🙂

Both of the new Jackson and PRS make me wanna' throw up, lol. Those Powers guitars look extremely cool!
Next, Power Rangers signature
That’s not a new bridge on those fugly teles. It comes from the Vela.
Behold the powers of electric guitar! 😀

I have Taylor GTe Urban Ash, love it

Thank you too

I feel like a chat gpt pedal should be affordable.
ANDY!!! 🙂

My pick of the week is definitly the same as yours. these powers electric are looking georgous!
But the PRS "Tele" on the otherside 🤮
I'm over the birds, colors and the high prices. I have one PRS and never play it. I do like Tele's.
I wanted to like the PRS tele, but it kinda left me meh, mostly style wise. Usually if theres two things you can almost guarantee from prs its that it will play well, and look nice. #1 was cool.
-I didn’t totally understand the neck thing.
-I didn’t catch the price.
Does anyone else get Sonex vibes from the PRS?
YES!!! I couldn’t think what it was but it’s the Sonex!
Thing is, I like the sonex… so does that mean I like this PRS now?
@@TheGuitarGeek But do you like 3K Sonexes?
At the right price, maybe as an SE level, PRS would sell a lot of these. (Edit: the Myles Tele I mean.)
Let me know what all you want brought over from the states! I'll be heading that way February 2024🎉
A breakfast burrito would be top of the list please!
I love the look of the MK signature, that green is beautiful.... The price is absurd.
Yeah, and only a gigbag for a 3000 dollar guitar???
@@SlaughteredDecay yeah, a painted body with a bolt-on neck and a gig bag... The CNC machine is doing the bulk of the work, and Andy is spot on with the neck pocket. I bet my Sterling CT50 Cutlass has a better neck joint.

0:17 and 5:38 😂😂
Does no one at Revv have a better idea than double-stacked gimmicks (pointless "ChatGPT" involvement and limited availability)?
The Powers Electric guitars look astounding! I'll have to check out some sounds of it!

"I hate that the new PRS doesn't look any different", as he sits with 3 same looking shaped
strats behind him hahaha

PRS NFT GUITAR. CRYPTO GUITAR
PRS hate certainly is innovative.
Thr prsssss is dull.
New PRS guitar for £3100- No thanks.
I would much rather have a Suhr ALT -T .
PRS; sort yourselves out !!!
