If you spend $6000 a year there at 2% cash back is $120 that would pay the executive membership. That is if the rates don’t increase or the cash back program doesn’t get phased out. That’s $500 a month needed to spend there except your first year (10 mths to get first cash back). For the first 10 months of joining you would need to spend $600 a month to completely cover the next years membership. Doesn’t seem like there’s really any incentive unless the prices are better than stores that don’t require membership. I’m not one to buy in bulk either just to get a deal. I don’t like getting stuck with large amounts of things I will never use or get burned out on and end up throwing away. I also don’t really see any big price difference if any than in other stores if you’re not buying in bulk.
The Basic membership is $65, with no Cash Back, so the first question is whether you would save more than $65/year by shopping at Costco versus shopping elsewhere. The Executive membership is $130, with Cash Back, so the next question is whether that Cash Back cover the $65 increase over the Basic membership. If you spend over $3,250, you would come out ahead with the Executive. You can do the math to figure out if it's worth it for you, but I will say that we are a family of 2 and buy very little "in bulk" and our Cash Back was $148 this year, and that doesn't even include how much we saved versus if we'd gotten the same goods and services from elsewhere. Also, if you get the no-annual-fee Costco Visa card, you get another 2% rebate so if you pay for your Costco purchases with the Costco Visa, you're effectively getting 4% back (2% Executive Cash Back + 2% Visa Rebate).
Yea that’s why he said that if you are going to do those purchases anyway you might as well get a free membership .. plus more people spend more than 500 a Costco a month than you realize lol

If the spending between the two of you has been over $250 a month since you got your card, or if you're planning on buying more items there for the holiday season (Halloween decorations and candy, thanksgiving food, Christmas gifts) I would definitely upgrade to the executive membership. If you get your rewards check in May and it doesn't pay at least what the upgrade cost, you can still get the remaining balance back, and then you go back to Gold star :)
That would be so awesome!! It would be a no brainer to get the executive. You can always get the Credit card and get 4% too! And that would apply to most gas stations, not just Costco :)
The membership is meant to be per household. So assuming a lot of people live in the house, the second card could go to a parent, a son or daughter over the age 15, or a roommate. So if your friend is a roommate, you can definitely share the membership with him/her.
Great question, there's no minimum to be eligible, but if you want it to be worth it in your favor, you should be spending a minimum of $250 a month, which is not that hard these days, unfortunately
If you get the 120 dollar anual costco membership then I assume you also have the costco credit card. In that case for the executive membership to be worth it, you have to spend more than 6000 dollars a year on your costco card for the cashback to be worth your time.
@@acidgolem2132 spending $6000 a year would be the minimum if you want your membership to be 100% paid. If you spend anywhere between $3-6K/year then your membership will be less than $60 for the following year, which is already less than those who just go with the basic membership. Personally, I spend close to $5k a year at costco, and with a check being around $100 i'll gladly pay the additional $20 +tax for my membership for the nest year, plus i still get all the benefits. Additionally, if you use your Citi card for all your purchases at costco, you're actually making 4% cash back in total, in which case spending $3000 will actually pay for your membership in full :)

All depends on what you Buy there $350 / month on food ALONE is $3700. Add all the other stuff they sell there - Premium gas at a discount / tires / household products / electronics.
This is accurate. Most members spend around $300 per visit, which comes to $3600 per year, by then the executive portion of the membership will be fully paid plus some more, and then one ends up paying less than the Gold Star member :)

Can I don't share it with my friend?
The membership is meant to be per household. So assuming a lot of people live in the house, the second card could go to a parent, a son or daughter over the age 15, or a roommate. So if your friend is a roommate, you can definitely share the membership with him/her.
Is there a minimum purchase amount that is eligible for the 2% cashback , like annually how much we need to spend in Costco
Hi man thanks for the information
Can i buy the acostco membership (for busines) but i live in iraq And if i could get one can i get annual 2% reward on the minoxidel krikland and discount or free shipping (inside the us) i deal with a shipping company they can ship orders form the us to iraq
I just get the basic membership. The car discount isn't aggressive enough.
I have business membership of costco, Can I sell kirkland products on Amazon as business members have reselling options. Your help required urgently.
Thank you for this!
$120 and there’s so many restrictions with the executive membership. You’d have to spend $3,000 to justify having the executive over a gold star 👎
All depends on what you Buy there $350 / month on food ALONE is $3700. Add all the other stuff they sell there - Premium gas at a discount / tires / household products / electronics.
Is the $60 a one time payment or is it broken up monthly?
It's one payment a year
@@CostcoDude ok definitely getting a membership then
We're Costco GUYS!!!
If i spend 400 dollars on groceries for just my wife and I, is a costco membership worth it?
If it's $400 a month, definitely yes! Hey the executive, you'll make money back if you're spending more than $250 a month
We really need to navigate this..lol..😂
Me watching this with no castco in my whole country:
What country??
@@CostcoDude Saudi Arabia
Wow! Well hello from the Americas!
@@CostcoDude Hello🫶🏻💖
Thanks
Thank you
Very informative
Ebt can get membership for cash bag or not
Walmart's Sam Club cheaper then Costco membership
You need to spend around $3,000 to get $60 back
This is accurate. Most members spend around $300 per visit, which comes to $3600 per year, by then the executive portion of the membership will be fully paid plus some more, and then one ends up paying less than the Gold Star member :)
Not worth it he is lying to you
@@gordonyee2627 I'm sorry you feel that way.
Never mentioned free online shipping!
@@gordonyee2627no he’s not
Hi Izzy, can I get a text on my phone one month before my Costco membership auto renew
I don't believe our systems are set up to send text messages. But you should be getting emails. If you don't, definitely stop by membership and add your email to your account

oh boy this young man talk Soo much just talk about the card which one to get
1. I'm glad you think I'm a young man. (My back and knees beg to differ 😂)
2. Getting a membership at Costco should be as easy as "just get the executive." Unfortunately there are many different scenarios where that actually might not be the best option for someone, so I try to clarify all the differences so you can make an educated decision when you do get your membership.
3. I'm sorry my content is too long for you. But most people appreciate it, and that's enough for me.

How do you do a dedicated video with this title while being so incredibly unprepared and uneducated on the topic?
This was the first video I made for my channel. I don't know why you think it's incredibly uneducated. Most people are grateful for this video. But it's clearly not for everyone and I'm sorry I've wasted your time. Unfortunately I don't have the power to give it back.
Forget it it's not worth it I'll just stick to a regular grocery store which is just as good!!!
your confusing! Get to the point already!
Makes no sense at all lol
A rip-off.
I was there on July 3rd & it was packed with people getting food / meats for the grill. There were a few workers there giving free samples but didn't see the Kirkland hot dog guy there. With all the people there it was overwhelming to shop during my 1st time there. Still managed to get my hands on the Wild Sockeye Salmon & stuffed grape leaves. Really amazing place & the meat counters were probably my favorite.
