I have enjoyed buying it, driving it and many upgrades over the air and mobile service as well as taking it in and getting a loaner. However, I have found the one weak point in Tesla which is body shops. I managed to hydroplane off the road into a hill and got minor front damage and to one radiator and haven't found a shop that will take it in before July so far. The few times I had damage to previous cars they would go into a shop within a week and be fixed up in another week and back on the road. Nothing new in this video Pete but I'm still glad you said it. The way Tesla was treated by mainstream media only underlined how big oil has intertwined itself into our news outlets. Great Video. I do not subscribe to the Global Warning stuff. It's fake. But I love technology and there is the economic aspect of EVs that I find appealing. We went from gas being under $2/gal in November 2020 to it going 3x or higher. That is not economically sustainable. Much of the inflation that is hurting us is due to fuel prices. You did hit on one of the other advantages of bypassing the Dealerships. The legacy auto guys want to follow Tesla but NADA is fighting it every step of the way. To the point that expect the Dealerships to take down one or more of the Legacy companies. EVs are still a small percentage of new vehicles sold, but it is growing exponentially. Legacy auto's push to only make the high-end trims to boost their margins is backfiring. Lots are full of $40k vehicles being sold at $80k because of the high trim, and then you have dealer markups. So you will pay almost twice what that vehicle is even worth. I will be in the market for a car later this year. I wish I could pull the trigger now to capitalize on the incentives. But my next car is a Tesla. Probably a Model Y
What if one day those Tesla Roadsters no longer can find circuit boards and all are burned? Will those owners have to rebuild the whole system with a new architecture platform?

That's hurting the brand, and is a step back to when cars did not have them. Please bring them back ASAP.
It does help in cost reduction to remove the USS in the bumpers so I'm hoping that the new radar sensors will help this. I wish that they would utilize the rear camera for FSD and near-infrared abilities of many current camera sensors to detect pedestrian body-heat signatures.
I don't think we, as the public have as much knowledge about building an electric car as Elon. He also stopped using lidar because it's not practical for this use in FSD driving. He mentioned that he used LiDAR for docking on the space station and that was an appropriate use but not on earth for this task. He's been right so far, let's see, if he's right or wrong with sensors, LiDAR, and other growing pain issues. BTW, Service is getting better but it's not there yet.
@@tech-utuber2219 Cost reductions? How much do they cost? $100? $200? Cars that cost $20K have these now. Have you seen people trying to park using park assist without these sensors and the new parking assist enabled? The Tesla runs right over cones placed directly in front or behind it. @@Paul-cj1wb these cost-saving notions are from Sandy Munro and Elon himself. Not only do I agree with your other comments but I also think that charging $15,000 to test this beta FSD is a mistake because it is a promise that cannot be guaranteed right now. He instead should be offering one year of free supercharging as compensation. I imagine that some customers will be upset if it turns out FSD is not approved until 2027.
@@Paul-cj1wb yep, it’s been absolutely impossible to park a car in the century + since vehicles were developed. Thank God someone invented sensors so that the ghosts of our forefathers can finally leave these cars that have been in perpetual motion with no sensors and go to their eternal rest. Amen.
Tesla must be a really special car company but there is a cult aspect to the owners because there are real problems with some of the cars. These problems can easily be found in some good car reviews.
Teslas have a better warranty than literally any other car on the road that covers more and lasts years longer for any serious issues that arise. Tesla has barely had cars in mass production for ~15 years. How many problems were there with Fords or Dodges or Chevys in their first 15 years? Tesla is improving everyday and has a market cap more the 4 times that of the next biggest competitor. Tesla is doing fine and improving their production every day. Stop spreading fud for no reason
This is not the right perspective. Rather than the “Climate Change” nonsense, you should look at converting to clean energy and EVs as the righteous movement to get our air CLEAN as soon as possible…there is nothing worse than walking the roads and smelling the Effing exhaust fumes from ICE…
Tesla's success is in selling a product at four or five times its actual value - historically known as a skimming price on a new and unique product - it will last as long as it takes for other manufacturers to catch up - if they are still in a position to do so - only time will tell.
It looks like you have been misinformed. Tesla does make a good profit but only around twenty percent, not four or five times the cost of production. And they don’t pay for advertising or dealers costs and commissions. They do however spend a lot on innovation and hiring the best engineers so they keep getting further in front of their competitors. 🤔
@@malcolmrickarby2313 I suggest you have a look at Munro Live - Tesla margins... I said four or five times the vehicles value, not cost of production - which is a different parameter altogether. Either way Tesla operate a skimming price , which hugely increases the price the vehicle would normally realise without holding a semi monopolistic position in the market. Not a bad position to be in, and no mean achievement given the speed to market and the level of product and production innovation.
Tesla is emission free IF you do your charging at home from owned solar panels, or owned wind generators. When recharging at a grid supply, you are not emissions free. The grid currently is 80% fossil fuel generated. Thus when charging from the grid, Tesla's are only 20% less emissive than a regular ICE vehicle. Saying Teslas are emission free is misleading. They just release their emissions remotely.
You are correct, BUT there is only so much that Tesla single handed can do about this! They are however help out with that part as well and that is with their Megapacks (look at what they have done in Australia! ), Powewall, and Solar tiles. Plus they have SolarCells at many of their Supercharger stations.
@Hamilton S. Rink Teslas are emission free, because driving one doesn't produce emissions. Now you an quibble about the source of the electricity, but remember some of that power is from renewables and Nuclear, which don't have emissions. You can have a Tesla on in an enclosed garage and not worry about dying. ICE produces toxic emissions that are killing people. Let's take it one step further, if you were to only use Coal to produce electricity for the EVs they would still produce less emissions than an ICE. One of the things that people forget, is that ICE cars are very inefficient, only 30% of the fuel used is for propulsion. Most of the fuel just generates waste heat. Just think the average ICE vehicle owner doesn't realize, all the 70% of fuel they are using, is just wasted. I didn't even talk about the wasted fuel idling.
"In the past decade, our solar panels produced more than enough clean energy to power every Gigafactory and vehicle during that time" Tesla Impact Report 2021.
@@waynerussell6401 You do understand the difference between owned and grid I trust. The giga factory solar panels are owned by Tesla. If the statement is true: that Tesla is running its factory from owned solar, wonderful! But when you drive a Tesla, and recharge it from the grid at a public charging station, that is 80% fossil generated power.

It cannot see a large garbage can right behind or in front of it. It can't tell a human being standing right in back or in front of it. How is this safe? Search for things like "new tesla vision parking update" and see for yourselves.
Except for the "Climate Change" religious message, the rest of the video was very good!
Denialist?

Absolutely nothing!
good for Elon that so many have drank the koolaid on Evs
Stick with your diesel, bro. Knock yourself out.
U must be one of those ICE morons
i'll see ya at the charger when you get priced out of gas my friend.
Nothing wrong with tesla but Elon might have some issues

Tesla is emission free IF you do your charging at home from owned solar panels, or owned wind generators. When recharging at a grid supply, you are not emissions free. The grid currently is 80% fossil fuel generated. Thus when charging from the grid, Tesla's are only 20% less emissive than a regular ICE vehicle. Saying Teslas are emission free is misleading. They just release their emissions remotely.
They use solar ofc
"In the past decade, our solar panels produced more than enough clean energy to power every Gigafactory and vehicle during that time"

Very Intelligent observation. 👌 You are the best RUclips speaking person ever👍
How about field swap out batteries? We are not there yet and this is why I won't buy ev.
