    What you are doing sounds healthy to me.
    From what I have observed there are two ways to lose weight. The healthy way is to ingest less calories than you are burning. The unhealthy way and most common way is to come up with a way to make it so that your body cannot process the food you are eating properly. Usually the number one goal for fad diets is to be able to eat as much as possible while not digesting it properly. Those kind of diets are very unhealthy and counterproductive in the long run because it does not address the root cause of typical weight gain which is overeating.
