Missed your property uploads, Ken! I'm a good 15 years away from retirement but this really helps give direction.
Same time about for my husband and these help us decide what type of home to get in retirement, close to town, in town, property with land, no land etc :) it is great!
GREAT VIDEO. Jim and Harriet
Thank you,Ken it’s fun to dream, for me. That kitchen has so much character.
Once it has some trees, bushes, landscaping and privacy it will seem another place.
Amazing views and facing south 👌
Beautiful home Ken
Super cute house!
When you see damp stains creeping up on the outside walls that tells that the foundation is not proper. That in turn points to a cheap build and most probably there are some other issues hidden. Ask me how I know.😅
How do you know?
@ruthjarvis1933 My father built a house which had that problem in an area with high ground water level close to the adriatic sea. So I knew how it was build. Later, I lived in houses with that same problem and investigated, found same pattern. So when I bought my last house, I knew what to look for.
Water staining on the shutters in the older section makes me wonder if the windows will need to be replaced. The driveway going past the house would certainly need to be relocated so it isn't so close to the house. Otherwise it is a nice property even if the pool may have some mechanical issues.
Very nice !
I love this place..its position in Portugal is great. 2 separate rentals in there as well. Great for my duck breeding!!
How close is the closest town and hospital Ken? Price OK as well. Thx...great video.
"its position in Portugal is great" ??
It's probably the most remote location in all of Portugal!
Unusual layout of the house but interesting. Definitely the lighting has to be upgraded. Nobody wants lightbulbs hanging out from the ceiling. It would have been better if the physical metes and bounds of the property is shown so you can best plan what to do with it. I agree with you that the garage would look better with a coat of paint. The pool has to be upgraded.
I really like it. I think it represents good value for money in a country where you would be looking at a cost of 2000 euros per square metre for a new build.
An average new build in Portugal, without any delays, takes around 2 years, and you would also have to factor in the cost of the land itself, the permits, licenses, amenities and delays.
@@OKportugal I find the property quaint and appealing. Too many driveway does not hurt and I find the stone structure quite rustic that makes the house appealing with unusual character. The property just needs cosmetic touch ups and minor upgrade. The price, I believe, is quite reasonable considering the land area (half hectare).
Lighbulbs concerns... :)
Muito obrigado por nós mostrar tamanha lindeza, só poderia ser em português também, pois moro no que é conhecido como saleiro do mundo ,onde é rico no Agronegócio e pecuária e muitos são pessoas simples porém com muito dinheiro.
Obrigado!
E no Brasil, Região Centro Oeste
I'm curious would you be able to draw a line where the property line is. Just seeing an aerial it's a little difficult to judge
I did put a border map in the video around half way through
@@OKportugal I just seen The Greenery I was just wondering if that's it I can see the wall behind the house the stone pillars I just was not sure how far over in front of the house it went
❤
Nice home Ken, i see alot of potential here, but i also see the road by the pool flooded over, which makes me think the pool pumphouse is non functional. Which I think can be easily fixed, but why wasnt it? May be an issue. Thank you dearly for sharing! ❤
Good point I never noticed that and I'm interested. Thx
Lovely home indeed, can I ask why there are light bulbs hanging from wires in each room, no light fixtures??
Seems to be quite common in portugal, we looked at a number of houses without fixtures and when we chose to make an offer on a home we asked when would the light fixtures be installed and we were told that they are treated as furniture and there would only be the bulbs as in this video.
Oh, well thats good to know, thank you so much.
Not sure I like the pool being right next to the farmer's driveway that also intersects the property. Seems odd.
Still to much for my blood. But great video! ❤
"This house has central heating" -- but no burner = additional cost.
im intrested
This should not cost more than half of that price. You buy the same house in France for the same price.
Ok... so this house is underpriced! If this is the price in France, it should be 2x the price in Portugal 😀
Way to much for the area sorry
How far from Lisbon, Porto, Algarve??
Just Google it.
Too far if you have to drive.
According to Google maps its 2 hours from Porto Airport, 3 hours from Lisbon Airport and 5.5 hours from Faro Airport
@@OKportugal thank you so much.
Hi, it's quite expensive, "190"!! with no furniture not a big land nothing that adds to the value trees, plants...etc, my point view
Bargain !
Basically the heating systems pulled out because it was fitted against regulation and should have been either electric heating or air source heat pump he got absolutely P'd off and decided to sell up due to the ridiculous cost of A fitting it and B running costs......Crazy times we are in!
why so many doors
Makes it easier to get in and out? 🤣😁👍
I actually like the that for when it's a hot summers day. Get some air and warmth into the house 😊
Everything was perfect until the neighbour was so close, which is the seller.
Je peux savoir quel est le prix s’il vous plaît merci❤
190,000 euros
@@OKportugal merci ❤️🌸
Interesting comparing houses in other countries, and prices to where we live. We live in Eastern Wa, USA. North of Spokane. We paid just under $300,000 for 2.6 acres and a 3,600 sq ft house. Basement is partially unfinished. We have a barn, but no pool.
I only counted 3 bedrooms, the house looked cold to me to much stone,
Imagine that to much stone in an old stone farm house
Bear in mind that there are around 300 days of the year of sunshine here, so its only cold for a few winter months... the rest of the time you probably want it to be a bit cooler ;)
Owning an old quinta in the Algarve region I can confirm the major issue here is humidity, dampness and cold....especially bottom up cold and creeping moisture in the walls. Almost all old houses were built maybe just on a slab of rock or concrete without any insulation or protection against ground water creeping up. We have dehumidifier running 24/7.
he is counting the large room downstairs as a bedroom
Does it have cement instead of lime anywhere; is it double glazed with no ventilation; are the old walls inside and out covered in non breathable modern paints and have the floors had a concrete slab put down on a plastic sheet. These are the most common faults that have been applied to old stone lime mortar buildings.@@schoppepetzer9267
Qué cielo tóxico de geoingenieria climática. La península ibérica está fuertemente fumigada. Cuidaos mucho
It's just clouds, just chill your tinfoil hat.
