Heres a trick for the future. Cover all the letters with a strip of tape then tap around the edges of the letters with a rubber or plastic hammer and it trims the tape perfectly to the letter. That way you don't have to sand the excess paint off and risk damaging the paint close to the letters.
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Christian Luka i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Etch primer!! Failing to prepare is preparing to fail, and you just DID! Love to see all these you-tubers who actually prove that the internet is a billion miles wide for knowledge but only 0.001inch deep. Proof that know EVERYTHING you see is best practice.
You should use a wire brush to get those little bits of paint in those tight crevices that weren't removed with the paint stripper. It's probably not a good idea to leave them because those are the areas where the new paint will start peeling a lot sooner than you would expect!
I’ve found that it is totally worth it to let the paint cure fully...if the instructions say “cure for 24 hours”, do it. Otherwise when installing the part, any little metal contact makes a scratch that just ruins it. imho
Even coats is the key did this on my b 16 in black sanded the logos the next day with 400 grit then a 1000 came out looking factory never thought to use a quarter for masking great idea
Savage! No primer? Cooool! If you look in my channel I posted a video 5 years ago of a valve cover I painted wrinkle black. I used a bright lamp overhead so it can wrinkle. It's a valve cover from India off a Honda City. I still have they valve cover hanging on my wall 👍🏽
Which is why it peels off after 6 months use under the bonnet. Same with "exhaust paint" gone as soon as you drive hard. Red hot downpipes? A little more than 600 degrees C. More likely you will end up pissing on them to try to put the fire out (yes I know your rocker cover will, or rather, NEVER reach a high enough temperature to set fire to pain)!
That shit looks amazing. I'm so mad VHT doesn't make wrinkled green. I need dark green to refinish old cast steel reloading press's. Now I think I'll just use Red or black wrinkle then go thin coat of green and it should work. I should've used red on my powder measure 🔥
What you could have done is covered the labels on the cover with vaseline using an earbud very gently.....then after paint you just wipe it off because the paint wont stick to the cover because of the greasyness of the vaseline......I've done it a few times and it always works like a bomb
Thanks a bunch chief. Definitely gonna try this on an f20b valve cover. Going in a blue on blue cb7 accord. I think the red would look sweet under the hood.
Here is a Tip, Cover your Piece with Air Craft Remover and then cover it with plastic, Let it soak in and you will get much better penetration of the Chemical.
Those bubbled up spots are fish eye. They're caused by oils on the surface left over from either improper cleaning, or handling with bare hands after cleaning
LATOMMYLA you should check out this forum that just got started up a few days ago by @tommyfyeah its cornerbalanced.com a lot of people of there are into the track racing and performance like me and you!
my mate used this painy but applied it with a brush on his intake mani. a year or so later its cracking off pretty bad. hows your rocker cover looking now its been a few years? still look good applying it by spraying it properly? wondering if i should use an etch primer before the red
Mine did not turn out as well I think its cause I used a primer on my valve covers pretty sure this stuff works best on bare metal. I also did the plenums on my IM which were bare metal with the black wrinkle and turned out great!
Not sure if it's an editing sequence thing but 4:36 best not to touch it after you've cleaned with alcohol as their is oils on your skin/hands etc.. use gloves ;)
Do u think this can be used on a couch? I'm trying to replicate vinayl and this looks like the closest thing. I also am hoping once sprayed it wouldn't rub off or crack if sat on.
My wrinkle paint failed to wrinkle, the temperature outdoors was about 14° celsius. Maybe apply it in a heated room next time? Or maybe point a fan heater on low at it. Edit : heatgun worked
It really looks nice. I would like to see how it looks after you installed it, can you share a picture 😀😀 And can you please tel what brand and grade oil do you use?
hey getting caught up on older videos your older stock bumper and lip diffuser setup was sick. wanted to ask if you knew of a website were I can buy mandm strut bars from went to theres I'm using tablet but it was in a different language any help would be appreciated trying to finish up chasis upgrades.
Hi Tommy Do you have upgraded engine mounts? I'm thinking of energy inserts. Do you perhaps know if this will give vibrations. I really don't need that like it was but solid torque mounts. went back to oem but I also miss the stiffness
Yes I do, I am running innovative motor mounts with 75A bushings, they do vibrate a bit but not too bad. If you want someone an OEM feel look into the 65A bushings
What model of heat gun did you use on this? I need to buy one and trying to get ideas one what others are using for diy projects. Great video by the way.

Thanks for the tip, might have to do that for my next valve cover I redo!
No problem man, the valve cover looks great. Ive alway had good luck with VHT products.
Thank you, and first time ever using VHT, was amazedddd
You can also use a little baby oil then wash it off. It's still better to powder coat it yourself
sanding it is faster, easier and leaves a fresh , shiny look
the coin trick was clever.
+UberPare 👌👌
a pressure washer works great after you apply the striper and wait for it it bubble up. then hit it with the pressure washer and it comes right off
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account??

SiliquaeSid you don’t use primer on vht wrinkle paint
+50HP
Wow, it came out really good. Wasn't sure what to expect before watching the video. Good job!

Now I know, Aircraft Remover is the main culprit of missing aircrafts that vanished in thin air in the history of aircrafts since day 1
Hahaha!
The plural of the word "aircraft" is "aircraft" NOT aircrafts!
@@mrfester42 this guy did arts and craft in school instead of arts and crafts like the rest of us.
@@100geese Good one!
For covers with embossed lettering or dips you don’t want to paint, use play-doe or model magic to mask it.
You can use chapstick on the letters as well and wipe of later after spray
“Third coat is day agonal “😂😂

No primer sonnnn, and I think the heatgun method worked perfectly for me!
Just don't let a model sit on your valve cover. Might get stuck to her cheeks 🤔
You don’t use primer with this…

I did mine my self too and as soon as I put the heat gun on it, it wrinkled up perfect.
Glad it worked out for you!

Marcus Jones the paint is designed to do that, and people specifically want that result when ordering wrinkle paint
Another sick video!😎

Matt O'Hearn yeah,because of primer
i spray enamel then when the enamel is slightly dry, i hit it heavy with clear coat and it wrinkles without using heat gun.
Not really a Honda guy but that thing looks clean
Yo man. I heard some bells was that the Paletero man or the Elote guy. Damn got me wanting some now.

Use rubber plugs or cork to cover the holes
Sheesh that rebelution 👌🏾
Just found your channel, but how do you only have 8000 subs?!
Idk man! But its growing!
Beautiful car
Beautiful results. Really learnt alot 🔥🔥. So quick question if one doesn't have a heat gun can one use a blow-dry on the heat switch?
Hi, can you use motorcycle plastic? Is it scratch resistant? Thanks
Dude! You have my tool chest! Only mine is red.
Do you have to primer it first? And does primer effect the way it turns out
Nice job my man I will use that , thank you !
My tip. Cover the engine once you remove the cover. You dont wan't anything getting in there. Dust, bugs, grit, moisture etc. Better to be safe imo.
Do u think this can be used on a couch? I'm trying to replicate vinayl and this looks like the closest thing. I also am hoping once sprayed it wouldn't rub off or crack if sat on.

Try hitting up nemos garage, they got it!
How can i get very little wrinkle... i only want a light texture...
nice!
You can slightly see the wrinkle in it, oh it's the orange peel hahaha!
After listening hard, i realised this guy was speaking English
Hi Tommy

Yes I do, I am running innovative motor mounts with 75A bushings, they do vibrate a bit but not too bad. If you want someone an OEM feel look into the 65A bushings
Does anyone know how long you should wait before driving with the new paint job on said engine parts?
Help is appreciated 👍
What model of heat gun did you use on this? I need to buy one and trying to get ideas one what others are using for diy projects. Great video by the way.
It doesn't matter what heatgun you use, they all work the same way
LATOMMYLA Cool. Thanks man.
Good job man! Do you know if it works even on the cbr1000rr engine case?
How long is the lifespan of the wrinkle paint on the valve cover until it needs to be redone?
Nice vid man. I didn't see a video where you sanded down the logo and such. But I assume it is straight forward.
+Kauthara thank you and sorry about that, but I went to home depot to buy a 200 grit sand block by 3M, make sure to tape off around the letters too
Any issues with your new finish yet? I'm thinking about doing this to my valve cover too!
Can i know what color exactly is that? Thanks
Can you paint a plastic engine cover or is that flammable?
