Much easier to just measure resistance between the pins on the suspected faulty coil and compare the numbers with a coil that you know is good.
I thought you did very well on this video. The video was precise and very clear. Unlike yours, most video's out there are too dark and its like they never proof view it to make sure its viewable. You got the point out on checking the "ignition coil pack". Would have been nice to check the spark plugs in this vid BUT then again, this is about checking ignition coil packs and not spark plugs.Overall...good job!RP2u 11/01/2018

Step 12 - Gently close the bonnet, open any door and load fertilizer in a large sealed container with appropriate wiring and switching, stand behind corner of brick wall and initiate power to said wires for an explosives' final solution to problem.

Step 21 You must use the test screwdriver and move it around the coil to check for side leakage of the coil.... Thanks
I have 10 plus dc volts on 1, 3, 4. When the key is in the "on" position. I did not test 5 or 6. Only 2 had 0 volts . all 4 cylinders had 11 plus when cranking. Any thouhjts why I would have voltage?

Another way to ttest ignition coil is to test the resistance on it. Eazy way and safe way.
Also the way to find a weak coil. When it's only misfiring under load.
Missed a step. Remove rubber boot and inspect and clean slinky to coil contact. Corrosion and moisture can cause intermittent misfire.

I have no 12v+ at coils whatsoever, I get voltage when I remove earth cable, but when reconnecting 12v+ is lost
Great and informative video but I have a question. What's different about the second half of this approach as compared to just using a known good spark plug in the coil, grounding it on the block and cranking the enging to search for spark? Honestly asking. Thanks!

My ford focus 2005 zx4 I replace spark plugs with motorcraft the same that was in there also I replace the ignition coil which is bosh an the car don't run rite... what can be the issue anyone can help?

Coil # 8 is bad. Check resistance on primary and secondary 2 thousand ohms on primary and 6 to 9 thousand on secondary .

Never once saw the volt meter fluctuate between 0 and 12 volts. Whatched that part over and over
I have never seen a digital voltmeter that was fast enough to make that test.
Do you turn on the key or start the engine while testing?

My car is Sonata 2009, American import, engine 24. It has a malfunction. When the rpm reaches 1500 revolutions, the engine shakes, whether it is moving or standing, and results in a weak engine torque.. I went to the technician more than once and he connected it to a fault detector, but to no avail without any result. .. so what is the solution?
