Would be great to see a video of you fixing the trailer up more. Paint, grease, checking brake, fixing hitch position, power wash, etc... love the channel.
You all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me.
Oh my God I wished I had the energy that bulldog has I guess his name is meatball what a cool dog I've never seen a bulldog with that much energy but whatever he's doing he's doing it right! Looks like a pretty nice trailer for sure oh, and doesn't need much work. That is great! Please stay safe stay well and as always God bless
Take a lesson from Tuber "Lord Muck", never apologize to us viewers. It's your way of doing things and by us watching and you doing we both learn. Great stories. Narragansett Bay.
Nice trailer good price on it, new trailer cost is outrages on some, I buy used and repair what is needed, even in the rust belt you still find nice older ones. I put pintle hitches on all my trailers no matter the size, no looking for different hitches. Like your operation and the equipment, you save.
Love the deck over trailer , I'm like you don't really like fenders even with a car trailer. And the lunette ring is way strong for the connection but I would run a 2 5/16s ball to. And yes I like wider ramps I also like the ramps to fold over the dove tail so you have the full length of the trailer flat if you need it. Great buy.
Yeah, looks like Meatball has tons of energy and keeps waiting on you to kick the ball. He looks to be perplexed why you aren't kicking the ball constantly for him. :) Love the new trailer and video's!
Nice trailer. Congrats. In you application pintle hitches make more sense IMHO. There is a reason the military uses pintle hitches.....quick to connect and strong as can be.
I bought a similar trailer to yours about a year ago . I bought a Kaufman trailer 16,000 gvw. For the most part I like my trailer. I don't care for loading my skid steer on to it. I did a review on my trailer on my channel a while back of pro's and cons. I prefer a ball mount to pineal ring. Enjoy your trailer and thanks for sharing .
3:35 Holy crap! In Massachusetts, I pay 140 annually to register my 8000 lbs trailer. I wish I could go up to Maine to register my trailer but taxachusetts made it illegal to pull out of state registered trailers behind Mass. registered vehicles.
You can use a plate of steal bigger over the other part they actually sale them again love that trailer I used one like that for over thirty five years you got a great deal thumbs up
Here in SD if you run commercial plates on trucks, you can purchase a U-plate for trailer. Cost is $20 and can only be pulled with a commercial truck. Plate is good forever.
every trailer i bought i have had to strengthen everyone especially under and above the axle area's on the frame check for cracking around those area's
we dont see them this side of the pond but I think you have had a good deal there Mat well done I am biting at the bit to get back on the farm with my big toys
I upgraded from a homemade flat deck trailer that was about 15ft 6in long and only about 5.5ft wide to a beavertail car mate 18ft car hauler a couple years ago, and it made a world of difference! properly build and weight distributed trailers handle so much better.
No whatsoever experience from this kind of trailers, I live in Sweden (Europe) and brakes on trailers below 7716 lb (3500 Kg) are usually just applied by back-pressure thru mechanical linkage as trailer pulls on the truck. Electrical trailer brakes here have usually a pressure sensor mounted at that ball hitch, however those are not commonly used now days. Anyone that can give general basic info about this type of trailer brakes? I am just curious. Lived in Wisconsin for a while in 2009, got the impression it was OK to haul most things with no brakes or registration on trailer (had an old boat) no memory of even seen a boat trailer with brakes... Grate videos you make, AutoCar truck is my favorite, maybe Meetball will get a ride in it some day...
Imma be that guy and say that the ball/pintle debate is irrelevant because 5th wheel is where it's at for heavy pulling. Also +1 for meatball. Reminds me of when my boy was young and energetic.
I much prefer a pintle hitch too. I plan to put one on the White 4000 Semi tractor I'm working on on. It has a wet kit and I'd like to put a lift and flat dump bed on it, then hang boxes under for compressor & welder and use it as my utility/service truck. With a pintle hitch I can pull my brothers extra equipment trailer behind it. There's no telling what I'll drag home LOL. I always enjoy seeing what you're up to. Look forward to the next one.
I think you should call that "OLDER Trailer" the "Party Wagon," you know every time you pull it will be a Fun. DAM wish I could get a permanent tag for my car, I have to usually cough up $120 every year.
Where I live, Ontario Canada, the max width of a trailer is 8'6" between the rub rails. According the MTO, any safety equipment, ie. mirrors, rub rails, etc., can exceed the max width of trailer or vehicle. Plus if the safety chains are too long, we are allowed to twist the chains so they don't drag on the ground.
I don't know why but I've thought about this a lot. You could get a converter dolly to tow the low boy with your dump truck. I know weight ratings wouldn't line up exactly but it's just a thought. Also I kept chuckling to myself since you had a pintle hitch and another adjustable hitch in the chain box talking about drilling holes in your hitch plate and I was like "no other combination of those hitches will work?" I do know curt has some beefy wildly adjustable hitches with interchangeable towing attachments that can be had from Amazon as well
I have an Appalachian gooseneck trailer. i think it is a 2003. I bought it 1-1/2 years ago to go to NJ to get a press brake. I do not use it regularly but it seems like an OK piece. Thanks for the video.
I'm partial to PJ branded trailers, but that's likely because I own one. It's a gooseneck tilt deck trailer. After I pulled it to Kansas and back I don't think I'll ever switch back to a traditional bumper pull. Try a gooseneck they pull and maneuver great. Doesn't help much on your dump truck, but would be great for the truck.
Use CRC rust converter on the underside of the trailer and then coat that in RP-342 "heavy" it works amazing... I did my truck frame like this and it has yet to start rusting again and i live in MI and drive it all winter long.
Looks like a good investment. A guy always needs another trailer. Goes well with "another" tool box...or another truck...just needs a fresh coat of gloss black Rustoleum all around and under. PA rust belt and all! 😉👌👍
(I know this is on an old video but I’m on a DC binge) but we bought a 22 foot iron bull tilting deck over. We threw a 25k ball on there and it’s the greatest ball hitch ever. It has a flared coupler and a super nice latch. Always have used ball hitches but once had a rental trailer with a pintle, but yeah this turned out to be a good purchase.
Nice pick-up on that trailer. My uncles would regularly spray the underside of their trailers and vehicles with used motor oil. Kept them rust free and most important it kept the road salt of it. They lasted for many years that way.
I sure hope that you read this one.... kinda excited and probably for no reason but on another channel, this guy drills lots of holes and one is having to tap threads in the hole just drilled... So this drill bit drills the hole and then tap's threads right behind that and something you may have spotted on the new parts out counter.... if not then check them out
A small amount of grease on the contact points of the pintle hook and receiver will minimize the squirting when you pull it. Makes hooking and unhooking a little bit of a mess, but a good tradeoff. Nice looking trailer.
Pintle is where it's at man. Always preferred a pintle over a ball for obvious reasons. Way stronger, easier to hook up to, and more versatile than the ball hitch. I've always used them on everything I've towed. Nice trailer indeed. Meatball is a great pup. Hes hilarious to watch 👍😎
I know I'm late here but Id chacne all the lights to LED's and add a couple of 6"LED Led Housings up front on top and maybe a couple at the rear (if not underneath ) for load and unloading sometimes ya just need the light! Those ramps I'd just get some angle iron of the size (or just wider to overlap) used there, cut what you got down the middle and cut some 10 in lengths, center them (over lap the 2in on each end/side) and weld them on both sides (top and underneath should be plenty strong).
Never apologize for Meatball. I love that you have a dog named Meatball and his favorite toy is a ball that looks lik a giant meatball.
Meatball is part of the stars in this show! Love that dog :)
I'm with you on the pintle setup. The military has used the same hitch setup for decades with zero problems.
Meatball is the perfect name for Meatball!
needs spaghetti
@hawkturkey He has a cat. Pay attention.
@hawkturkey meow? or a the bobcat could be called spaghetti?
Meatball is easy to please.😍 Please don't smash my meatball!
Would be great to see a video of you fixing the trailer up more. Paint, grease, checking brake, fixing hitch position, power wash, etc... love the channel.
Never apologize for a dog! Even though I enjoy your content, animals always make a video better!
I'd watch a 24hr Meatball cable channel.
You all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Matthias Damon instablaster =)
" I am The Mighty Meatball. Fear me, you evil orange ball of bounce"
Take a lesson from Tuber "Lord Muck", never apologize to us viewers. It's your way of doing things and by us watching and you doing we both learn. Great stories. Narragansett Bay.
Haha meatball piled up jumping that ditch in the intro.
Love seeing and hearing Meatball in your videos. Always makes me smile!! What a joy!!
Today I Learned: Beaver Tail = fixed ramp. Also: Corn Pro is STILL a funny name for a product or brand.
That’s an active Bulldog!
He is super hyper! We thought we bought a lazy lump... farthest thing from it
Congrats on the new to you trailer, your bully is hilarious!
I love the way Pennsylvania does trailer registration. New York is quite different. You did well with the puschase
Friend finder... YUP LMAO. It sure is!
Thanks again Matt!
What amazes me is the tensile strength of bolts. Just 4 is all that is needed on those tongues.
I'm with you on the removal of that ball hitch. Very nice trailer and a great price.
I agree with the pintle hitch thing also, ive grown to love pintle hitch setups.
A extra inch is everything to a man !! You never know when you might need it.
old faithful that’s what she said!
Nice trailer good price on it, new trailer cost is outrages on some, I buy used and repair what is needed, even in the rust belt you still find nice older ones. I put pintle hitches on all my trailers no matter the size, no looking for different hitches. Like your operation and the equipment, you save.
You could make a 30 minute video of you playing with Meatball and I would watch 👍
I keep telling the wife the dogs need their own channel
Haha that’s awesome
You do a lot of things , Matt! I don"t even have 1/10 of your skills! Ha ha ha....
Glad to see you got the new trailer you needed. I love your dogs. Meatball really seems to enjoy that ball.
Very nice trailer. One nice thing about putting the ring hitch style coupler is most people dont have a pintle hitch
Enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing. That hitch is actually called a lunette eye. The part on the towing vehicle is the pintle hitch.
thanks for the info... i always just called it the ring haha
Ahh yes the old hip bump trailer lineup I've done it a million times
Nice trailer. Congrats. In you application pintle hitches make more sense IMHO. There is a reason the military uses pintle hitches.....quick to connect and strong as can be.
Don't forget that lashing them with straps and chains is also an option that doesn't work with ball hitches
That bull dog and giant ball obsession is hilarious! I love watching him lug it around everywhere. He's quite good at it. Lol
Love how you take the time to give your pets some attention.
I love your videos , I never know what I'm in for but never a disappointment. Thanks for sharing.
Well thank you! Means a lot!
You should have more Meatball in your videos! He's awesome! 😄
Great trailer btw! 🙂
Who's the guy that Meatball has in his videos?
Love meatball just goofing around while you are fixing the stuff for the hitch, he's a, fuzzball
That's a full-time job keeping meatball going chasing that ball
I bought a similar trailer to yours about a year ago . I bought a Kaufman trailer 16,000 gvw. For the most part I like my trailer. I don't care for loading my skid steer on to it. Really enjoy attention to detail you give equivalent.
you can spray rust blocker paint on the undercarriage to keep it 20 years. Great video. Thanks!
Watching your doggie chase his ball with breakneck enthusiasm is very satisfying! What a great dog! Nice trailer too!
I love the boundless energy of Meatball! He's brilliant!
Sadly, my only knowlwdge of trailers is from the UK, and no help to you at all! :-O
You can use a plate of steal bigger over the other part they actually sale them again love that trailer I used one like that for over thirty five years you got a great deal thumbs up

That would be nice!!
every trailer i bought i have had to strengthen everyone especially under and above the axle area's on the frame check for cracking around those area's
Yep. The seller might have been overloading it before finally moving to a bigger trailer.
we dont see them this side of the pond but I think you have had a good deal there Mat well done I am biting at the bit to get back on the farm with my big toys
I agree on the pintle hitch
You'll love those tires! I have them on all mine and the same ply as my semi tires.
Hitch is only as strong as the bolts holding it. Looks like its about time to get some new Grade 10 ones for the truck side.
love that dog the way she chases that ball
I upgraded from a homemade flat deck trailer that was about 15ft 6in long and only about 5.5ft wide to a beavertail car mate 18ft car hauler a couple years ago, and it made a world of difference! properly build and weight distributed trailers handle so much better.

Your pup is hilarious. Sooooo cute!
Looks like a well built trailer from what I can see.
It seems to be!
Your helpers are back! Nice!
Beautiful trailer Matt , plus a good price !
Meatball. Opening with a fine ditch face-plant. Nice recovery though. Oh, and a nice trailer too. 😊
Haha yes he can take a lick and keep going that’s for sure. You can’t hurt this dog
sweet trailer.
Meatball needs his own channel!
I keep telling the wife... I don’t have enough time for this one let alone another
New trailer looks and works good. Anxious to see it used more.
Imma be that guy and say that the ball/pintle debate is irrelevant because 5th wheel is where it's at for heavy pulling.

Or he could call it the "party barge"
I like the trailer , where you live looks very nice , lots of nice scenery
its nice for sure! thanks!
MATT, great video. Thank you.

Kool trailer!! Will work well. Luv the dogs also
just makes sence, thanks for the video

Love the Trailer it's a nice one, you don't have to say sorry for your dog.
Meatball!!!!😍
He loves that ball!

I’ve been unhappy with rustolium as of late... rustX has given me better results
@@DieselCreek I've heard about that from a car friend in the mid West. Supposed to be pretty tough. Anything that works!
Meatball is so cool and makes me smile. I want one like him lol.
The new trailer looks good. Only a little surface rust to get sorted. You did good Matt.
Awesome new trailer great buy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool trailer:) I'm still dying laughing at meatball!!! Cool deal on the registration!:)
Good purchase
Just ordered a super sized kickball for my Bulldog (Daisy). :P
Love the channel.
She’ll be happy! Thanks!!

I read all my comments and do my best to respond to most all, I’ve used those bits before in the machine shop I worked in.
Good morning Matt, you can drop that trailer off at my place lol. Thank you for the great videos. Steve from N.B Canada
His dog made my day
good deal on that trailer wellk done sir Matt
A small amount of grease on the contact points of the pintle hook and receiver will minimize the squirting when you pull it. Makes hooking and unhooking a little bit of a mess, but a good tradeoff. Nice looking trailer.
She gets grease almost every time I grease a machine, I wipe the tip off the grease gun on it.
Had several different trailers when we were in the construction business .
Basically all of them trailers are built pretty much the same .
Pintle is where it's at man. Always preferred a pintle over a ball for obvious reasons. Way stronger, easier to hook up to, and more versatile than the ball hitch. I've always used them on everything I've towed. Nice trailer indeed. Meatball is a great pup. Hes hilarious to watch 👍😎
great job buddy and great video as always buddy didn’t know you had a cat and have a pick up truck with different Hercules tires 😎👊🏻👍🏻
Michigan has even on small trailers you buy a one-time plate on that trailer
That’s a nice deck over trailer Matt! I’d say you definitely got a good deal on that sucker.
Thanks 🤘🏼
When you wash it down underneath.....you can give it a Diesel Bath vs paint. It also freshens up
Subbed. You seem to know what you're doing. I like that.
Thanks!! 🤘🏼
awesome exercise the the meatball there.
Nice trailer Matt. Great Video!
Good trailer it will work for you well.
looks the goods mate should give many years of service I'd say
I know I'm late here but Id chacne all the lights to LED's and add a couple of 6"LED Led
Housings up front on top and maybe a couple at the rear (if not underneath )
for load and unloading sometimes ya just need the light!
Those ramps I'd just get some angle iron of the size (or just wider to overlap) used there,
cut what you got down the middle and cut some 10 in lengths,
center them (over lap the 2in on each end/side)
and weld them on both sides (top and underneath should be plenty strong).
Back in the "good old days" when I worked for a living, pistol rings were all we used industrially.
