Whoever parked that Chevy work truck in the inoperable section, clearly forgot to disable the battery...to make the price right for an associate to buy
The auctions are online by people that have never seen the things, mostly , this is why you go in person to get the advantage., Also the people that categorise things are lazy
zbudda hide the keys
Don't give out all your secrets‼️😉🤣
That Chevy was the winner.
That there Chevy would get the job done too!
that chevy truck looks like a good buy and flip
If I lived anywhere near the auction, I would pick it up myself
with 3/4 of a tank of diesel in it, you bet it is
@@jordancarroll9397 got a vortec badge on the side. Bets it’s got a 6.0
My husband and I really enjoy watching your channel together. He loves messing around with "abandoned" vehicles and has drug home quite a few over the 30+ years of our marriage. I say as long as the bills are paid, he can bring home anything he wants. I think it's healthy for him to do it so I am happy with it.
That great attitude is why you have been married so long. Rusty junk is a much healthier addiction than drugs, alcohol or other women.
You’re obviously a good wife! They don’t make ‘em like you anymore.
@@alanj7306 they do,, just in very limited numbers...
@@alanj7306 They do, but I blame the education system nowadays. It's not just women, but the people in general are taught that "life is pointless, don't live it to your best" or something along those lines. Why not live life to your best? Life's too short not to! Cheers!
Do you have any sisters?
The stylish Bobcat revealed itself with the freshly painted bucket.
This is great. It satisfies my desire to shop auctions for deals and I don't have to pay a penny. I'm living vicariously through you.
In case you (ever) get a lighttower (still watching the video, so it's still a surprise for me), it's an absolute must to convert it to LED, that way you have a light tower + generator. Usually those things are made to just run the lights, plus maybe a small 120V machine, but if you convert it to LED, you suddenly have a big power surplus. You know how it goes: whenever you need power, you also need light, and whenever you need light, you often also could use power. It's simply the logical combination.
Good point!
Plus LED's pretty much last for ever.
@@DieselCreek Before you get carried away on the lighting tower, check the output Hz, sometimes dedicated towers run at high Hz to “Enhance” lighting effect.
Great vids Matt, look out for low flying missiles when you tell the missus what you’ve bought.
Great walk around, I reckon your come home with the white work truck that's in the doesn't work section.
You NEED that deuce and a half - the Autocar needs a friend.
I saw many things that should come back to a caring home.
Thanks for posting 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks just Thanks.
buy the service truck
tell westen champlain about the army truck lol
Mike, you could pick up some projects here! Lol
Definitely the pipeline work truck and the second skid loader you looked at 👍🏼👍🏼
The crane would guarantee you a place in the dog house with your little buddy! I would seriously consider the TL. A nice tracked skid steer you need and deserve! It will only make you money.
Skid steers and the pipeline pick-up lookin good....good luck with the wife..lol.....where in Pa is the auction? Duce 1/2 would be fun also.
Diesel Creek Matt , come on down your the next contestant on "If the Price is Right"
Matt we’ve all been there! I’m a sucker for auctions. I can’t avoid them. 85% what I buy I don’t need. I just love the hunt!!
Lol, me too. Thats why end up with multiples of stuff....i guess at least i have parts when something breaks lol
It’s most fun buying something you don’t need and it’s easier to start a new project than finish an old one.
I have stuff for others. They call me when they need stuff for they know somewhere I have it. I love helping others and it’s nice when they call needing help.
service truck !!!! At right price. Scissor lift also if price is ok to you. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy 🇬🇧
Definitely watch that Chevy and that skid loader without the bucket.
Yep, that TL250 has his name on it.
Agreed!
G first time in my lifetime I'm seeing these kind of machine, old and new machines in 2023 of diesel creek.😄
New drinking game, everytime someone says, "Andrew Camarata" you have to do a shot. We should all be 3 sheets to the wind by 10:00PM 😁😁
We've all been in the dog house before, the trick is to make the dog live in your shop...
🤣🤣
@Camaro 68 You are a very lucky man, hope you understand that. Some women doesn't even seem to allow their man to have a hobby at all. Most will make a fuss when we spend "too much" on our hobbies, even if it is less than she spends on her areas of interest.
Bring home something that can bring home a paycheck with it.
Love your intro with the Truck speeding down the road blowing the air horn🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Skid steer would be nice, you would use it a lot.. and you might be able to steal the chevy truck that starts up!? Best of luck..
"Guess it beats a shovel".
That's about all you can say about a hydraulic teaspoon. ;-)
In CA where new houses have 4' side yards, they dig pools with those!
Life is better when you ask for forgiveness instead of permission! 🤣
This is informative, I learn a lot when u explain to us what these earth movers may need down the road, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wife says I can buy whatever I want at auction as long as it goes to the shop and not the house.😄
I fall in love for nr 300. The 6 wheel drive. What a beauty! The looks and simplicity.
Merry Christmas to you and your wife.
Hahaha.. Christmas shopping... love it!! You’ll need to wait. Perhaps that skidsteer will work out. The magic of the auction!
I think that TL 250 would make a great Christmas present for the wife ?
I had a 410 backhoe exactly like the one in the video, we loved that thing. It's stronger than you might think.
I bought a 410D at auction for $25,000 several years ago. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. I would not want the 410C as it is an older design. Lots of hours on that one in the video. I think the 410D was one of the best backhoe/loaders John Deere ever made. Don't get one without 4 wheel drive though.
That Chevy is a pretty good find even being a pipe line rig. I've been seeing more and more military surplus trucks out on farms since they are pretty stout and easy to work on. Slower than a seven year itch with any weight on or behind them.
We put a rock hammer on the back of our backhoe and use it for raising manholes and valve boxes to final grade before the last asphalt layer
Hey man love the stuff as always. I would say 100% go after that chevy pickup and go after somthin else. I always love seein you pick up new stuff. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
7:23 “plastic is all cracked around the 🔑 “ 😂
buy the roller. if it sells for less than 2k.
keep doing the auction yard videos
I used to think backhoes were antiquated but really alot of times there better than a mini ex like when we're working on the road it doesn't need to be put on a trailer it just drives to the next one. It's more stable than a mini excavator and has more power. Doesn't take much longer to set up if you push yourself along instead of turning around every time
Now... you need to let us know how the pricing went on the several items that you spend significant time on. More of these videos would be fine with me. Thanks!
My uncle just bought a deere 410g backhoe uthr extendahoe and the swinger and he has it all sorts of taken apart the stick is going to get line boaring done and instead of wobble sticks it has pilot controls
That was surprisingly fun! I think you should get all of them and flip what you don't need :)
I worked for a company that was founded in 1890 and is still going today. They had and bought their own forklifts and frontend loaders and the such for over a hundred years. Those types of equipment would take tremendous amounts of maintenance time and would always crowd the shop so nothing else would get done. With out them, production machines would back up and shut down. So it was a back and forth which piece of equipment would get taken care of first. Finally the year 2000 came around and a thing called leasing arrived and "viola" when the equipment went south a tech would come in to service it with the contract that was with the lease. Result was the company never having to own and take of their equipment no more. That meant the mechanics could go to the floor and keep a well kept maintained productive plant.
That old Caterpillar wheel loader looks like something Todd Hoffman would pay too much for :)
You made my wife laugh out loud. That never happens.
T’was bout a week before Christmas,
When all thru the creek.
Matt was all happy,
for most of the week.
He heard about the Richie auction,
and shouted ., “Everything’s for sale!!!
So he pleaded to his wife,
but it was to no avail.
On the day of the auction,
he crept around like a mouse,
He Tip-toed past his wife
and then sneaked out of the house.
The equipment was all lined up,
with precision and care.
Diesel Creek got wind of it...,
and he soon will be there.
When he arrived at the yard,
he almost went insane,
There were so many models
and he called them by name.
He got in a backhoe.., a Skid Steer.....,
..., and an old rusty deuce,
He said “ This thing don’t run...,
and the steering feels loose.
And what to his wandering eyes should appear,
but a truck with a big stick ,
that went a 100 feet in the air.
The auction came and went,
it didn't take very long...
The last words he heard was...
Going Once, Going Twice.. GONE!!!!
Be sure to tune in next week,
to see what Matt bought...
and if his wife turns on him,
when she sees the junk he got..
Have a Merry Excavator and a Happy Skid Steer!
Man and I thought Christmas shopping at the dump was fun!
Oh that is too, it’s right across the steer as well!!
Really love the cracks Matt makes about some of the stuff as he checks everything out.
Matt, your attracted to junk the way a moths attracted to a street lamp.
We have a light tower here that we scored cheap at an auction (by cheap I mean minimum bid -- $50 + fees). Not something we use much, but damn handy when you need it.
Give the scissor lifts a miss. They both look like never a ending battle as each new problem rears its head. And if you just tear them down and fix them properly in the first place, you may as well have bought a better unit to start with.
Chevy service truck could be worth a bid. Damn handy things to have around, as I have found (by good luck, not good planning).
My bet for the #1 wife annoyer out of that lot is the same as yours: the Pettibone. Mind you, I don't think she will be happy with Santa bringing you ANY presents from Ritchie Bros.
That’s the kinda deal I’m looking for!!
@@DieselCreek I still reckon the two(ish) best auction/clearing sale deals we ever got were:
1) A dead ute with 3 way tipper tray for $1200 (tipper tray was worth $3k); then (18 months later) by chance found the ute only needed a $100 part to make it run again. By which time the plain tray I had put on it when I swapped the tipper tray onto mine had been swapped again -- for a service body! Just filled the drawers with spare odds and sods tools, and she's still puttering around today.
2a) Dad and pa went to an auction to buy some land from a neighbouring property that was being broken up. Discovered that the bit they wanted to buy included the house. A lick of paint and a little TLC had it looking schmick.
2b) Also included with that block were a few old farm sheds (most of which were barely standing, and were swiftly demolished). In the one decent shed, we found....a 10 cubic metre dump truck! Ended up getting that thrown in for free, because the estate they bought the land from wasn't interested in a 45 y.o. truck that had been up on blocks for 20+ years. Took me a couple of days' work to get the old girl going again, and she still gets a run occasionally.
Service truck in the dead line, buy it. Based on personal past experience, anything you drag home will annoy the wife.
Most of the time I can't come back from Harbor Freight without some kind of crap from the Commandant.
Could be a good buy. At 20.43 that cream coloured 2+2 truck with multi box rear section, 8 ft bed, service body, on a 35 hundred Chevy. Looks to be a reasonable buy, especially if it goes cheap enough. I don't know what sort of stuff you can haul in the rear, but space for driver + 3 pax (at least) is pretty good. 3.5 litre engine (I assume that is what 3500 is) should deliver adequate power for almost anything. Even if the engine does not last the miles hoped for, it seems replacement 2nd hand ones are available in plenty.
My Dad used to tell me that you can go broke buying bargains. Never took his advice.
Fun reminder of days gone by. I have hauled lots of junk out of the TX Richie Bros auctions.
Have a great Christmas, if you don't get shot for your purchase tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing.
Either of the deuce1/2 would be nice, thanks for sharing.
Should get both...
When the wife starts up, point out that one is for her.
That M901 (The big Army Truck) is a beauty. Monstrous power, multi-fuel, and power steering.
Just found your channel and watched the video where you're going through the auction yard. Will you be doing a video on the actual auction so we find out how much this equipment sells for?
2 minutes in that little Kubota is defiantly something that I would love to have where I live. When the foundation was being dug out for the house the were enough stones that we where able to build a 20 foot long and a 35 foot long stone wall with being 4 to 5 feet tall. You can not even dig a foot down with out hitting stones that range from being the size of your fist to being as big as 200 lbs bolder. Ground is so bad here that when they built the high way here in 1956. Some of the hills and to be blasted with TNT.
Thoes taks are some beasty machines. We have a tl10 and it’s an awesome machine definitely think Takeuchi is one of the best ones out their. Great video!
Totally agree!
Hi diesel creek I'm happy watching these machines and different ones that I have never seen yet.😷😳😎👂
I enjoyed meeting "this old crap"!
we must be kindrid spirts right as you were starting to say pettiboom crane I was shouting it at the laptop😂😂👍👍
Every Man should own a Duece&half at least Once in his life time! I'd buy the Last 1, the army Green one since its SO Rough you could give er some TLC and nake some $$$ off it down the road when you get Bored with it.
Agreed! I got to drive one for a while on a volunteer VFD, GOOD memories Actually it was an A-3
Man, nothing beats the "character" of old equipment.
Ask Andrew Camarata how you get out of the Pettibone.
Ya, looks like his had the ejection seat! Glad he takes care of himself so we can joke about it!
Being a military green m35a2 cab and chassis run away. But that's just because I'm a military truck and trailer collector and an m35a2 is on my to buy list.
If you do get the M35A2 keep your thumbs on the outside of the steering wheel. With no power steering, when these trucks are offroading the steering wheels will whip back and forth every violently in rutted ground. Seen a more than a couple guys end up with broken thumbs because of it.
Merry Christmas Matt.
Every thing , work toy, I have ever bought, I need, really honey I do...😎😍
🤣🤣
Every time i watch ur videos makes me want to keep goin till the next one..
You make me smile endlessly brother thanks again for just bein you man
Im thinking the service truck the crusty skylift and maybe one of the duce and a halfs.
Me personally I love old equipment so anything old is always cool to see use and work on
2 best channel in yt right after Anderw Camarata
The grey Pete in the background of the skyjack lift would be nice. 😁
Wish I could afford some toys!! I really enjoy your videos!!
The Takeuchi track steer loader is nice...I can see you in that vs. anything else on the lot. Merry Xmas!!
The pick up, definitely
A better tracked skid steer would up your productivity, the crane is kind of cool especially if you can have it quite on you mid way up a hill :) but I am a sucker for an excavator. The white service truck is intriguing, could be a flip project. The wheel loader, if it was cheap enough it, would be feasible to buy with the idea of it lasting maybe a few years to help terraform the farm before succumbing to the tin worm?
If you get that cran do not let roll down a hill and flip over.
Edit get that Chevy
He just said a backhoe has no uses. Then quickly corrected himself. Backhoe is the ultimate utility vehicle. Especially for a farm.
I CANT believe (and they do) charge the buyer a commission fee to buy !!!!! GRRRRR
THANX FOR THE ADVENTURE!
Rule of the thumb : Buy only what you NEED, not what you like
What if you need it the moment it's sold? :) Gotta hoard for the future ;)
That truck that had nothing wrong with it is nice you should get it, it even ran with no check engine light,
I'd make that truck inoperable encase someone else finds out its ok.
the older skid steer would be good or either army truck
Awesome thanks brother
Did you try putting that truck in gear? If it's in the "NFG" row and the engine runs then my immediate suspicion is a blown up transmission.
He did say it went forward and back.
Always nice to know what's at the auction!
army truck
It looks like the terminals that have corrosion on the scissor lift are the ones that had power from the battery. Some electrolysis probably went on when it was submerged. Anything positive would have built up rust and the negative be nice and clean
Never buy a Deere
Easiest to get parts for around here.
Are you kidding me ??? I had a little 27 excavator for 10 years of absolutely trouble-free service, then sold it for 1/2 what I paid for it new. What's not to like ?
Memorial Day weekend 2021, eating Chili dogs and binge-watching Diesel Creek! Doesn't get any better than this.
Welcome to this episode of “Hunting for a future project! Thanks for the tour
in college, back in the day, I spent my out of school hours sandblasting and painting gear at RB A
Buy them all!! Lol.
The skid steer would probably be the most useful and practical. Maybe buy and flip the Chevy truck. The scissors lifts can be quite cheap and descent resale but the water damage could total them out but maybe do a flush of the hydraulics with diesel and clean up the electronics and put some dielectric grease on everything and they might work.
The 3406 are the good old Cat engines. The Mitsubishi engines are the 6.4 and some smaller ones that are in the mini excavators.
Bring them all back I'm excited LOL
Lol love the Title of this Video, it even rhymes. Merry xmas
@JohnnyRingo drop the G & say it like me & it does! Lmao
you absolutely need the one ton pickup w/ servicebox and the skid steer without a bucket. If I was there I would bid on the tiny Kabot track hoe and the camo deuce 1/2
I don't think you need a crane unless it sells for less than scrap price and the wheel loader with the rusted out cab would be good if you had a big snow removal contract with a shopping mall
I hope you get everything you bid on. Merry Christmas
You never know how handy a JLG scissor is until you own one. They are amazing. Those drown electric JLGs could be a real nightmare.
Been watching your videos for a while Diesel Creek and enjoyed them, some more than others. So have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.Cheers Steve from down under Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks a ton! Means a lot!
Either of the Deuceys, 2900 hour skidsteer, and that 3500 Chevy. I have sentimental memories with Deuce and a halfs..learned to drive stick in one and I drove one on a farm for 3 years..things are a BEAST and will pull just about everything..including crane trucks ;)
The pipeline Chevy truck looks good but check the transmission, the engine seems to purr fine. The Takeuchi digger at 2.14 looks like a good one and both the power units, I would lean on the one with the Isuzu engine. These auctions are a man's favorite hang out. Good luck with your pick.
I lol when you said "radiator bone dry, Thats a good sign"....great show
