Hey Justin - I love the K&K Pure Mini. It’s a passive pickup that sounds very natural. I have it installed in all of my acoustics. I highly recommend it!
+1
I agree 100% bro, nothing sounds like a condensor mic in front of your acoustic, but that does not work on stage. I absolutely hate the sound of acoustics plugged in. I bought a Gruhn versitar last year while in Nashville, it is equipped with l.r. baggs hi-fi pup. I must say, it is the best I've heard plugged in yet. the baggs hi-fi is around 200 bucks. I still prefer microphone, but it's better than most and I can deal with it live. whatever gets the job done ! ty for sharing.
Yes!! Thanks man! Those Gruhn acoustics are cool! I’ll have to check that pickup out. Pickups just more convenient and a must for live situation totally
Sounding great
Thanks!
Sounds great! Run your acoustic though a vertex boost and boss eq or empress para eq deluxe (my choice). I use a k and k pure mini in my custom shop d18.
Thanks Joe! Awesome!
Hi Justin, you should try a Maton, its an Austrailian made guitar, whit a transducer in the bridge and a microphone inside the sound hole. Its the closest you will get to the acoustic room sound.
Cool! I’ve had a couple comments to check those out! I’m definitely curious! Thanks so much!
So my day job for about 7 years until recently was as a guitar tech, I have no idea how many acoustic pickup upgrades/installs I've done, dozens and dozens to be very conservative.
The LR Baggs anthem system is the only one that gets pretty close to sounding like the guitar it's in without feedback issues.
Is it perfect? No, but it's a big improvement over whatever else is in that guitar.
Cool
Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend
Cool
K&K Pure Mini into a Grace Bix has been working for me, but they’re not good for loud band gigs. Have you tried IR captures for you acoustic? That seems to be popular these days.
Nice. I haven’t tried IR’s that’s a great suggestion maybe that would be better
Mic up an acoustic live- nice way to lose a gig and piss off a sound guy. Got a cheap Takamine that does the job, but I’m curious to see how you’ll resolve this issue. What does Jedd use? Nice plunking on that Esquire too!
Haha yes! Thanks Jimmy!
Hey, I was trying to go to sleep!
Haha I was too!
Hi Justin❤
D28 ?
Hello:)
They’re cool acoustics but no pickup.
Where are you going?
At first Nc, then a lot of Midwest dates next month. MI, IL, WI, MN, IA, MO. Then some west coast stuff in October. AZ
@@justinmeyersguitarist Justin, I’m on the West Coast in case you get this far I live between Oregon and Washington
@@SeeCSeesCC definitely! I’ll let you know for sure, on these runs we aren’t that out way but hopefully soon!
@@justinmeyersguitarist it would be so awesome to come out and support you out here
This makes no sense whatsoever. There's no way that guitar holds up against a nice Gibson or Martin.
I’ve still found the pickups to change the tone of the acoustic when plugged in using the pickup sound. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter how much you spend you could spend 1000s upon 1000s and at the end of the day you’re still using a lot of the same technology when it comes to the pickup.
