Only been watching you about a week now. Your vlogs though are so inspirational for me. Severe pain from osteoarthritis so I do a bit and stop and recognise ways in which I can and help myself. If I can't I can't so just have to accept it and leave until when I can. Thank you.
I hope you are all well my friends. Please feel free to share what gets you motivated in the morning to help others who are reading the comments. xx Also CLICK: bit.ly/2M1tSJl to see how the Simba mattress can work for you and receive £75 off!!!
I watch RUclips videos as I'm getting ready for school. I have so much going on in one day or 6-7 days of the week so I never get a break. I find the first 2 hours of being awake is the hardest.
I love listening to my music and a good coffee my Carers help me with my personal care and ensure I have my medication and breakfast I have chronic pain with my legs and arms and I rely on my carers alot
Its pretty amazing. One you are aware of it, you really become aware of how negative humans are conditioned. Check out Jake Ducey here on youtube. He is full on, but its really made me realise. xx
I recently found your channel, and for some reason, the dry shampoo bit really got me because of what you said about not being able to be bothered to wash your hair. I use a wheelchair as well because I have Cerebral Palsy and showering/washing hair is one of the most taxing parts of my routine. So I often go longer than I probably should without washing my hair, and I tend to feel self-conscious/ashamed about the greasiness and my apparent lack of care. Thank you for reminding me/validating how difficult the process actually is because I have many days where I tell myself that I wish I could shower in 20-30 minutes like "everyone else". Best wishes!
Hi, Gem! I’ve had a bad little while so I haven’t been on RUclips. I’m trying to catch up with my favorites. I still find you very inspirational. I’ve been making some big decisions and your videos have made me remember to keep moving forward despite the challenges. It’s always a pleasure to hear your cheery voice. Thank you for being a light in the world. #SpoonieLife
Hello Lovely. Im so happy to hear my videos are of use to you. I hope you are able to make the right decisions that you need. Wheelsnoheels is always here for you. Gem :)
I must say there is one huge difference in my morning routine compared to yours. I'm listening to Spotify while cleaning instead of RUclips.😀 Seriously I love you videos.❤
Hey there. I was so excited to do a house tour. as my home is very accessible, and I really wanted to share it with you. However this week has been pretty horrendous. I have been trolled really badly. Like discussing stuff said to me. Its really knocked my confidence. But once Im feeling better Ill sort something out. Im doing a couple of videos on bathing. and cleaning my bathroom. xxx
Wheelsnoheels - Gem Hubbard I guess that's an occupational hazard having to deal with the trolls. Maybe best to think about whether it's a good idea. Even though I'm dead nosey and always looking for home organisation and accessibility tips!
OOOOo awesome. Let me know if there are any video ideas you think would be helpful? I have done another one like this on some household chores, and I have a bathroom cleaning one coming up. As for trolls. Yes it is something that Unfortunately happens. Its hard to deal with depending how threatening, and vulgar it is. This was one was particularly bad :( I guess i need to be more thicker skinned. :S
Wheelsnoheels - Gem Hubbard , I have wondered if the same 3 people go through and dislike all your videos just to be mean. I honestly have not found a video that I feel anyone could dislike. I’m sorry there are some truly horrible people in the world. It’s hard to find kindred spirits when there is so much negativity out there. The more sensitive people tend to almost hibernate to recover. Don’t grow a thicker skin because of the trolls in life. Just keep being yourself and delete their negativity so that you can keep your space safe and full of light. (I’m still working on this 💁🏼♀️)
Wow! you inspire me so much and I have recently started my youtube channel.Am however not sure I have anything to share on my disability.Am a wheelchair user too based in Kenya
I use a wheelchair outdoors, but not typically indoors (unless I'm having a really bad day), that seems like it should be easier but there are things that I see you doing that I really haven't mastered. I'm struggle to get down to the floor and get back up again, but nor can I bend over to pick stuff up, or put clothes in the washer/dryer. I could put a regular chair in places I need to do that, but I'm not actually sure that's any easier and I think I'd end up moving the chair around a lot and that just isn't going to happen. I quite literally have not hung up or put away any clothes in the last 6 weeks, I just have a clean pile on the floor that I rummage through. I also spend far to much time in bed as there and my wheelchair are the most comfortable places to be, I seem to end up contorting myself when I sit in regular chairs whether hard or soft. I've been wondering from 2 or 3 years now if I should use my wheelchair indoors on ordinary days, but that would mean more getting it in and out of the car so it's hard to work out what the overall benefit would be.
I don’t have much motivation in a morning however we got 2 Yorkshire Terriers before I became ill and they depend on me. Or should I say they are training me. They are Westie size Yorkies not cute tiny ones. If they need to be out they grumble at the side of the bed, if I ignore them the larger one jumps on the bed and likes to put his front leg elbow in my sternum and wags his tail ( I have seen on medical programmes they rub that area hard to check if you are alive.) this always gets a response because it is so painful and the air is usually blue. That is it I am immediately awake and murderouse and if I don’t move out of my bed I know I will have to wash the whole kitchen floor. However I wouldn’t be without them, well only first thing in a morning I think I would. Ha! Love this video as well. Love to your beautiful family.
wow you have to do a lot in the morning that seems hard. im 13 im not sure if i want to grow up im not lazy i mean i change my bed sheets i also do my laundry but you do a lot wow
I find that cleansing balms work the best at getting eye makeup off! I really liked Banila's Clean It Zero, they have different kinds for different skin needs :) But it's part of a double cleanse, so it would require washing your face twice (once with the balm, to get the makeup and oily grossness of life off, then with another cleanser to make sure all the balm is off). To me it's really therapeutic, and part of my self-care routine in the evenings. I feel like I'm taking time to take care of myself and that makes me feel good :)
I just came across your video. Can you share how you make your floor clean? My hubby is using motorized wheel chair and wish to keep our wood floor kept clean. Do you have tips?
Hey welcome to my channel. I don't clean the floors. My husband does it as its too much for me. I have seen robot floor cleaners. Do you think that could help? x
In another video you said about going up the stairs, and it made me think how do you get you and you chair from one floor to another? Im an ambulatory wheelchair user myself and i live in a bungalow, so its not something i have to deal with x
I find hanging t-shirts in the closet quite odd. We fold our t-shirts and put them in drawers. I have a lot of t-shirts. Have you ever seen small dumbbell hand weights that have straps? They are often used for running. They might be of use to you. Do you have to travel far to get into town? I'm in the city proper.
Chanel Makes a good biphase makeup remover for waterproof makeup! It’s worth the price because it literally makes removal so easy and quick... no rubbing endlessly
I have to have carers come in in the morning to help me get showered and they know not to walk in the door before 10am as I just can’t function before then. It’s not uncommon for me to have been awake most of the night but strangely I usually manage to get a few hours after my son has left for work at 6:30. I know that when my alarm goes off at 10 that however I am feeling I have to get motivated as best I can because I have to get stuff done.
Mine walk in anytime between 7am and 12pm! I hate relying on carers as they mess me around so much! lol Are you with an agency or do you hire a PA? I need to increase my hours but they so unreliable and annoying I'd rather suffer. lol
Sarah Camley I’m with an agency at the moment, you noticed that I only said that they know by now not to come in before 10 but an numerous occasions I have still been in bed waiting well past 11 or they just don’t turn up. For that and many other reasons I have decided to try going the PA route, it’s so complicated but we interview on Wednesday.
I have epilepsy, and my seizures will eventually put me in a wheelchair, fortunately for me for now I find a walker is working fine for now, but my Doctor has already stated that one more fall that causes any severe or major injury she is putting me in a chair. I do not want to be in a wheelchair but after my last fall that caused severe trauma to both of my kidneys I am beginning to see that a chair might be best. You see because of one type of seizure that I have every 2 minutes I fall 8 to 10 times a day on a good day. I am just worried because my apartment is too small for my walker how is it going to fit a wheelchair?
I had completely failed to spot that, I assume you have a chair lift. When I was renting stairs just got more and more challenging, so when buying we only looked at bungalows, I love the place we got, but would be well out of most people's price range (very blessed there), unfortunately the person I bought the house with has ended our relationship, but whilst we haven't figured out all the details he wants me to carry on living in it, which is emotionally very hard for our dream home to be where I live alone (there is no way I can maintain it, the garden even has a small orchard, some raised beds as well as a lawn), but is likely overall a good thing.
I do the same in my current house. I'm moving in a month and I've already allocated a spot at the top of the stairs for where the upstairs chair will live.
pixibeauty.co.uk/products/glow-tonic-250ml?variant=34997453898 Here it is. Its Glycolic acid. Its a really nice exfoliator and really easy to use. Head over to my IG as I have just had a delivery of their new Glycolic acid range. Its on my story. :)
I am deeply sad but watching your video makes me feel connected to someone thanks !(feeling crumbled and thrown away)

Coffee, coffee and more coffee. Love these natural blogs gem, thank you. x
Ah yes, I usually have to get shaun to make it for me, or go out for one. But I do love a coffee. x
I loved what you said about a positive mindset, I will really try to be more aware of how I think! ❤️

Wow. Thanks. I have never thought about rolling on top of my exercise bands. I’m always looking for a different way to use them in workouts.
Well I hope that helped. You can also hook them on doors too. I forgot to show that one. xx

Awww thats very kind of you thank you. x
I always have two of anything like crumpets or toast, it seems somehow wrong to just use one side of the toaster!

I’d be interested to see your paralytic workout routine! Also the build up as to how you become paralytic , what’s your tipple? Surely not at 10 am?
Hahahaha!!!! I actually haven had a drink for about 2 years now. Do you drink? x
Wheelsnoheels - Gem Hubbard never, I have enough problems staying upright without adding alcohol into the equation! 😆
@@wheelie26 I know exactly what you mean. How are you these days?
Girl! Your routine looks a lot like mine ❤️❤️
I wear these apron things I got from Bibble plus as they more stylish than the ones you see in a disabled shop haha

Coffee is my only motivation in the morning. Positivity is not something I indulge in.
Tbh I use petroleum jelly to remove waterproof mascara.
I use L’Oréal Paris Make up remover waterproof eye & lip 125 ml.
It’s gentle to my eyes and skin. I love it!
Isabel Nymoen ooooo sounds good. Thank you. X
How can I push myself in my wheelchair using my one good hand?

Yes I do, :)
