When you upload videos on RUclips, you don’t notice much of a difference between the Mavic 2 and 3. I’m glad you are excited about the flight distance and battery life, but for me it doesn’t matter because if you follow the rules, you need to keep line of sight at all times and if you are filming with a shot list, I don’t waste my time up in the air. I don’t fly just to fly, I fly and film for the edited video in mind. The cost of the Mavic 3 Cine, price at $4500 is not worth the jump. Last but no least, it’s awesome that it has so much internal drive space, but again for me how I shoot my dailies is not necessary to have that much recording space since I dump the footage constantly. Overall I think it’s a great prosumer drone, just not needed for my business, because after all I don’t think my clients will be able to tell the difference after combining the shots I take with the drones and my other cameras.
MAVIC 1 to MAVIC 2 was the greatest leap DJI made. (perhabs even phantom 3 to MAVIC 1 which was revolutionary imo) It is the same with all Tech stuff. Once the technology is out...it gets only as good as you actually can use it! TVs, PCs, Smartphones, Laptops.... Once you have something great, you wont need a 'little' greater. Upgrades become gimmicks. I used the Mavic 3 cine for 2 month and it is a great drone. But if you are already at that level of Professional Spechs you can directly get the Inspire 2...spoiler! Interchangeable lenses are still superior (answer the question: why phones will never replace a dslr!)
Check out Peter Lindgren‘s video. I watched his video on my iPhone and could tell the difference between the air2s and the cine model. You could see the detail held up better.
Matti, you definitely should care about the size especially if you want to fly on an epic trip to Norway. After about a year, since the beginning of 2023, in the EU, you are not allowed to fly a drone over 250g that doesn't have a CE-rating, which this drone does not have, anywhere near people. So if you go hike a mountain in Norway, there will be other people somewhere there too, so you won't be allowed to fly. Unless DJI somehow figures out a way to get the CE-rating later on, but the CE-rating can only be given to new products so this would require some kind of a hardware or firmware updates done by authorized companies.
I bet you this is the best drone I have flown, the precision is immaculate, footage wow, handling the best got the lighter grey and the ND filters are so good too
Sooo…I really want to be excited about this..only thing is I can’t honestly say that I see a mind blowing difference between M3 and M2P footage. And as a person that makes money with my drone, I can’t justify spending another 3-5k on something that I can do with my M2P. I’ll probably get one next year on the resell market when all the Christmas flyers move on to something else. Great review Matti👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
there are 2 differences, the larger sensor (4/3 on the M3 Vs 1 inch on the M2P) for better Dynamic range (if you color grade, this will be a benefit for sure, and the second one is 30% more battery life....if you already have a Mavic 2 pro...then keep doing your thing. If you have nothing and you plan to color grade drone footage and do it for paid work, then maybe try the Mavic 3 since it will be more dynamic. There's going to be a time that the M2P will be outdated and the M3 will remain fresh
This price is driving me nuts!!! They are basically almost charging Sony A1 money for a camera without even half of its manufacturing cost. DJI I feel is greedy on this one. I understand 3k but 5k is way to overpriced.
@@kelly___lopez yeah i know the telephoto camera it not what is making it that expensive but I mean, that double camera must have cost something to make. Would have ok with just one camera
I gotta disagree with ya Matti. I don’t think pro res in a drone is worth it (when it’s 5,000$ and $5500 with dji care) . No matter how you chop it up , it’s still just a drone with 4/3 “ sensor . It’s like if you were to put prores in a gopro , yes it’d be nice for maybe a tiny difference in color grade , but it’s still a gopro .
James had mentioned black magic raw -‘d I just meant if the drone sensor was on par with a nice micro 4/3 camera , then I would say having any kind of raw or prores would actually be worth it . But as it is , it’s a tiny sensor and I don’t think prores capabilities would make that much of a difference, especially sense it’s only hq
