I’ve just bought a M3P Cine, and that first tip about the histogram changing with the View Assist is absolutely insane. Massive thanks for the heads up. DJI really need to do better with elements like this. 🙌
Quick tip if you hadn't noticed by now yet, dont need to tape of the sensors in foggy or any situations can just go into sport mode. Moment you enter sport mode all obstacle avoidance isdisabled. So you can fly through fog and everything again. turn it off below the fog and your good on both ends :)
I had the same thought! But he mentioned at the end that he tried a shot in sport mode but the drone still sensed that the ground raised in height so it lifted itself causing a crash. Do you think that was a fluke or he bumped one of the thumbsticks lifting it up accidentally? He said the next time he tried the same shot he had to tape the sensors and it worked, no change in altitude!
Bottom landing sensors are still activated. If the drone thinks it’s landing even in sport mode it will slow down. It’s different than obstacle avoidance.
Regarding the tape tip at the end: I also flew once with taped propellers after a crash and it worked ;-) If you like the colors in this video, it was color graded with my new DepthScape LUTs (20% discount with code DEPTHSALE). Check them out here: geni.us/vYqN
Hi, just so you know, it’s quite a nightmare to get the authorizations for flying a drone legally in Thailand. I was hoping to fly mine in 2020, but ended up not using it. I strongly encourage you to look into it.
While I don’t advocate this (or even travel outside my state)… A friend purchased the “Drone-Hacks” firmware modification software and modified an older Air-2s drone he had sitting around. It removes the DJI No Fly Zone restrictions and altitude limits. and He uses that drone for travel video/photo work. I’m not sure if it removes the Remote ID transmissions or how to deal with local authorities if caught flying without the proper permission.
The way you've curated each shot in your video is a testament to your keen eye. It's a visual delight. 📸🌆 As a fellow filmmaker in the cinematic travel niche, I'd be honored to learn from your composition skills!
That tape on the bottom sensors will help a lot. Already got 2 issues with the M3Pro flying in foggy conditions. One of those it took me 10min to descend and the battery was about to die. Was flying the M2Pro before for many years and it was never a problem
THE FIRST TIP about view assist is a mind blower x's 5. I can't wait to try it tomorrow. Never ever heard this before. I am pro and it's hard to believe. THANK YOU>
I did go out and shoot today and it was not quite what I was expecting. First off, it was odd without the color assist because the histogram would not go above 70 no matter what I did. I was in the bright sun with no ND filter . That is a hard way to work. Of course when I got home the footage was all blown out. So how are we supposed to set exposure if the histogram is not accurate.
Thank you this was super informative!!!!!!! I use to inspect roofs mostly and I do have an issue with getting too close. I’m going to try the tape trick.
The footage was buttery smooth. I especially like the warm feel golden hour gave your shots. I truly appreciate the artistic value of your work and i think you're an incredible cinematographer. I have the DJI mavic Air 2 and the Mini 2. I know these drones are worlds away from the air 3s, even so I'm still inspired to take more shots and explore the dynamic ranges of these machines 🎉🎉
Thank you vey much for these tips! Really helpful! - Where are you in this video? Thailand? Vietnam? What's the situation with drone laws there? Is it a good place for holiday drone flyers? Would I need some kind of "flying license"?
It’s the same as with all other cameras. Color Management + DJI D-Log under input color space and from there I just use my luts and custom corrections if needed.
Fantastic quality and very useful tips, thanks ! About the changing histogram... is it still the same situation with the latest firmware ? Because then I think this is more like a bug than a feature :))) it should be reported to DJI.
How do you match the 3 cameras/lenses? Ive been shooting in dlog for 1x, and dlog m for 2x and 3x. Im testing the possibility of shooting dlogm for all 3 but even at dlogm the colors look different. What are your suggestions. Im using davinci resolve studio
i have a mavice 3 classic and mini 3 pro now... i'm really contemplating of swapping may mavic 3 classic and mini 3 pro, plus cash to mavic 3 pro ....what do you think sir?
Hi Pascal Basel It is a nice video on the tips of photography, but I can't find the Freewell GND filters on the Amazon, where did you get those filter?
I am shooting with Mavic Pro 3 Cine on D-log ProRes in 422 HQ, and I use 5.1K resolution at 25fps. I noticed that when I tried to edit on DaVinci Resolve, my files are really slow, and I use a Mac. Is it the format I use, or is it my Mac that's the problem? What should I do?
I notice when i try to take video with my mavic 3 classic in my hand....i usually get small jerks when i am walking. Is the gimbal supposed to get me super smooth footage..? Am i doing something wrong in my settings...?
@@huwpenson2678 I think there was a recent firmware upgrade that also shuts the bottom sensors off with a function in the menu. But for a long time that wasn't possible at all. It didn't cause issues hand catching but for clouds it's a problem.

Came looking for just this comment. Glad someone mentioned this.

The first tip is awesome but that last tip was gold! Subscribed!

Could you just turn obstical avoidance off and it would prevent the downwards sensors from activating?
I've got a Mavic 3 Pro on the way and will also be in Thailand in November-December. Can't wait to put it in the air! I love Thailand!

Great tips, thanks. Especially the hand-holding of the drone for stabilised gimbal shots - brilliant!

10min, wow that's scary. Worse than in my situation.I also remember it being better back in the days.
Prima Tipp mit dem Klebeband- Danke dafür (!) muss ich mal ausprobieren 🙏🙏👍👍
Great stuff. Thank you so much for making . Really helpful

Thank you very much🤝
Really useful tips 👍
luckily with the latest mavic 3 update, those downward sensors can now be turned off, where is that temple just at the start of tip 6, at 9:35?
Thanks! Great tips. Where can I find "view assist" in the menu?

For the last tip on taping the sensors could I just turn off obstacle avoidance instead?
Hey Pascal. I would love to see u do a Mavic 3 color grading tutorial inside Davinci buddy

Do you have thoughts on the Air3 vs M3P for large prints?

Why would you use aperture to change exposure, surely the Depth of field would change, was that an important element of the shot?
When do you need shallow dof on a drone?
@@pascalbasel probably don’t unless i orbiting a single object like a clock tower
@@gimbalair Even then it's likely too far away to see it
10:13 - why dont you just turn the sensors off instead of that manky tape
Because you can't turn the bottom sensor off.
