Welp... I'm an idiot and installed the spindle wrong (Thanks @CWFoffroad for catching that!) uniball mis spacers go INSIDE the spindle...not under it. Thanks for the support 'ohana. Aloha 🤙🏽
Hey not sure if this is you but I got an email saying that I am a winner in a contest. this person has the same logo as you but the channel is different. Here is the link just in case it isn't you and you would like to report them to RUclips. ruclips.net/channel/UCqHPDpTcYkyGUbVb8jCic-A If you don't mind, please let me know if this isn't you so that I can stop talking to them.
I wonder if this (or a kit available!) Would work on my 1993 Silverado. I'd like to have this type of off-road performance in my trucks suspension. Glad to see there's something for front, Anything to update/upgrade the rear suspension to same level?
Can't go wrong with the power stop extreme truck and towing rotor and pads package. I installed them when I had my lifted 09 Z71 on 35's and they work great! Especially for the price!
From what I understand, the 2022 Silverado calipers and rotors fit, giving you a 4 piston caliper with a larger rotor for pretty cheap. Might as well do braided lines. You can also go with big break kits from Willwood or something if you want to spend a lot. Keep in mind your wheel size because clearance could be an issue. For rear breaks you can upgrade to calipers and rotors from the Tahoe of the same generation with pretty much no modifications and theres a way to do the swap without pulling axels. I have a sierra from this generation and Im planning on doing these upgrades myself someday . Hope this helps
The front and rear brakes from 2019 and newer GMC/Chevy 1500 trucks are almost a direct install for the older version (99-08) GM trucks. One downside is that you will have to grind away some of the caliper material (just extra metal really) to make things fit up snug and factory looking. Yes, they are 4 piston calipers and much larger rotors/pads to go with it, which also means having 18 inch (minimum) rim size is required for use of those brakes. 1000% better than OEM brakes from that era GM truck and a relatively inexpensive upgrade for anyone to do. Getting the parts and equipment ready to do it on my 01 Silverado Z71 for this coming new year project.
Yeah I'm probably going to go with an 18" wheel (even though 17" is most common for PreRunner trucks) just to be able to fit a better brake setup. Thanks for the reco!
@@LonestarHawaiian LOL. Yeah it’s a good clean swap. I’m so hyped for your build, planning on doing essentially the same setup to my truck ( If I win the lottery lol) but I would love a video on whatever break upgrade you end up doing because there isn’t a lot of info available on YT.
I know you read all your comments and I just want to say thanks for your videos. I have a 2008 chevy silverado 4x4 doeskin tan and I relate to your videos and want to do some of those things to my truck but don't feel comfortable winging it lol. Then I would have to take it to the shop to get fixed lol. Leveling kit, rims, and tires and that's changed the look big time. Continue on man and I'm waiting for that shop tour! 🙂
I have power stop upgraded rotors and ceramic pads on my lifted ‘15 Tahoe w/ 35’s and they work amazing. Stop better than factory when I was on stock tire size.
Custom offsets has willwood big brake kit only downside is 20s is smallest wheel size you can run. Totally worth it. Done the same kit on every truck I've owned due to towing or hard braking
Crazy as hell how far you’ve came along man, I remember finding you when you were installing the leveling kit on this exact Silverado. Living the dream bro. Keep it up 🙏🏽
2019-2022 oem brake calipers(brembo) and rotors bolt directly on with use of washers as spacers to center the calipers on the rotors, am currently running them on my 2016 and the braking power amazing
Dude I’m so stoked about this kit😍 it’s so sick🤤 I want to see it with the wheels on so bad hahaha, and as for the colour I’d paint match the fenders but that’s my personal preference. Either way it’s gonna look amazing, awesome job!
Congratulations brother it's a big stepping stone once you get your long travel...it took me about six years to get mine. Have quit got to use it yet because the truck caught on fire shortly after the installation but hey it's almost back up and running.
Well that's sic and you should go with a wrap for sure but maybe do a 2 tone old school big ten Chevy style wrap with those white spoked rims and that would be so sweet keep up the good work love seeing you work with the kids...
Power stop brake kit is what I used on my 2011 with the drilled and slotted rotors, work and look great. Love the work you’re doing on this truck man inspires me to work on my own 🤙🏼
"12 days into a 5 hour project" I felt that. I remember my first doing a kit like this I took it all apart piece by piece . in reality you can have the whole thing off in 9 bolts all in a big chunk. 3 on top of strut, 2 holding caliper bracket, and the 4 on the inner side of the control arms. :P
Fantastic work! I'm not good with puzzles so without instructions I do the same thing I did when I learned how to field strip firearms. Take everything apart and lay it out in order so I put it back together in perfect reverse. Lol!
Pre runners are nothing but 2wd so that’s perfect! Now that your going “pre runner” with the rado I recommend you go with 37s on 17 inch method race wheels! Cali style 🤘🏽
Dude, love the way that looks. Great job. I have always liked Stop Tech drilled and slotted brakes. I have upgraded to those on most my vehicles, and they make a huge difference.
Hey man, as for performance brake upgrades, here's what I did. I've got a 2001 Silverado and i installed 2020 Silverado front brake rotors and 4 piston calipers. It's a factory option and its a huge upgrade over what you and I have. It will work on yours perfect just might need to install a very slim washer between the new caliper and your spindle. Calipers were hard to come by when I did mine but got them from an AC Delco parts supplier in about a week. Your flex lines should work but you might need to grind a tab off one. You'll need L & R caliper and two rotors and a set of brake pads, total about $560 CAD.
Always majorly life motivational..... I satin blue more , and the white ... I'm building a 94 ram 12v Cummins dually and white + blue.... always majorly life motivational with the kids , I have 3 myself and love helping me....
Where I live, there's few long travel trucks. Everyone get 4" and 6" lift kits. Big, blocky junk. Long travel kits just make sense. More clearance, that's usable. 💙💙
Hell yeah!!!!! I feel like I'm following your footsteps! I've got my dream 2015 GMC 1500 with a 3.5" RC level and my next goal for it, is to Fox or King coilovers!! I didn't know anything about how to install my leveling kit either but said to myself "we'll figure it out as we go" now it's installed and looks amazing in my eyes!!!
Awesome job man! I would go with the PowerStop rotor and pad kits, they have the best kits out there! Very sexy drilled and slotted rotors and amazing performance.
I like satin chrome personally.. its different. Not sure about the white wheels though.. great video! Love how your boys are out there with you, and random toys are in the parts!
Truck looks amazing! I'm hopefully going to be getting a long travel kit for my truck within the next year or so. Living in Nevada, obviously they are all over the place.
Super nice kit!!! I recommend doing some sort of bed liner on the inside of fiberglass fenders helps them last longer and makes them a little more ridged, I’m from SoCal it’s a pretty common thing to do to fiberglass on prerunners also gives it a cleaner finish, Can’t wait to see the truck finished keep up the good work 🤙🏼
Another little tip is on your hose clamps around your shock reservoirs, you can put black heat shrink around them to give it a cleaner look, I have king shocks on my 17 Silverado and did this to the hose clamps with heat shrink
These comments are gold. THANK YOU. Super good info and perfect timing as I'm getting tread to tackle the fiberglass next. I'll also be adding some heat shrink to the clams when I swap those emblems. Mahalo 🤙🏽
Lmao well I’m way late to the comments on this but he beat me to it by a LONG SHOT. Out here in vegas we do it to. Love seeing prerunners in not so common areas but its becoming more noticeable in Texas. Got a couple friends with long travel trucks down there🤘🏼 CWF was my choice when I still had my 2018 Silverado
The metallic will hide imperfections better. As well as not show age in the sun as much. When I think of the satin color, I think of everyone’s hoon’d and clapped 350z that’s wrapped.
Not 100% sure but I think the lower control arm should be mounted in line with the center snout of the hub. Not beneath. The bolt should run through both holes in the spindle creating a dual sheer point. If you pause the video at 16:54 you can see the upper hole is not being used. I hope I'm making sense.
Your awesome, you have inspired me to do some thing with my truck. Wish I won the lottery to do everything. So I could do it all. My opinion leave it stock with little Trible wrap accents. The stock is perfect but your call but I trust your opinion. Your the matter. Good job on the install hope it works!! Really enjoyed your Chanel for the last 6 years
Stock brakes from the new 19+ silverados. 4 piston brembo design and super cheap for what you get. All you need is a washer to space the caliper on the rotor evenly.
Here’s an idea to think about that won’t break the bank, upgrade to the newer Silverado front brake calipers and rotors, gives you 4 piston calipers instead of 2 and a larger rotor which you can upgrade to drilled/slotted 2020+ rotors! Budget friendly!
i am proly to late to help you decide on the color wrap but i think the passenger side wrap looks to ford blue for me.. well done on the build! looks good i want to do this with my 18 at some point.
Since this is my first time doing this, I wanted to keep it relatively “bolt on” to try and limit possible mistakes on my end. Potentially will be upgrading it in the future

Glossy metallic easy!!!! That color is wow!
I like the glossy look better, but either one looks sick!
Personally I would go glossy but both look awesome!
Love seeing your boys help out. Creating memories and special bonds. I grew up without my dad, wish I could have had that experience with him.
That glossy Pearl blue looks absolutely fantastic. The glossy wrap is my favorite of the two.
The dark blue is the perfect color. Do the color match. Great video as always!
I’m digging the blue wrap on the truck. I think a brushed look or like a raw aluminum looking wheel would look great with that color over the white
Satin Chrome!! With the white wheels is a nice touch.
You can’t go wrong with the satin. The white wheels gives it a classic look. I like it.
