Maybe. Play it fucking loud! Wayne Kramer is off his tits and searching for feedback! Way to rape a Mosrite. I'm going to die soon and this will be played at my wake (fucking loud!). Along with the Minuitmen of course!
This is like that scene in Back to the Future when Marty McFly goes back to the 50's and after his performance tells the kids they aren't ready for it yet....same could be said here and this was real.....this lot simply were not ready for the MC5.
I was at this concert at Wayne State. Following the bands, most of the crowd walked to Lafayette Park and started causing trouble. The cops came in riot gear. I went to the bus stop! :)
who else played? hopefully nobody had to follow this...id break up my band and break something if i saw this, too. never seen a more commanding performance and that includes early 70s uk heavy bands...who seem lazy after this. plus, the crowd is so close...and people are into it. this is the best track, other video has 3 and they played a few others. undoubtedly their best song...all versions, though nothing tops this. Sinclair got them tailed, but they werent a political band...they wanted sex, drugs via rock and roll
Its unreal that in the same year as this bands like Yes and Emerson, Lake and Palmer were still banging out prog rock. This must have been such an exciting time. I was 3. Like when "smells like teen spirit" came out. Everyone just sat up and went "Jesus - what was that?!" This band was awesome.
I love watchin this from time to time. Its a true honest to gawd RUSH! Just....i dunno...friggin amazing,,,,how do you describe that feeling? It goes up yr spine and thru yr neck and into yr head and you just feel naturally stoned OUT. Im serious! Its beyond the beyonds. Heavy as hell and at the same time sensual and sweet little lyrics. Im a chick ...maybe Im the only one who thinks about these kinda things...? Ill always love this band dearly. Beautiful. Thank you. Peace~"Jen"
Konig Corvus the Detroit/Ann Arbor scene in the 60s was the most radical in the US, with the possible exception of Berkeley. These weren't typical "flower children"
This video makes me so sad and mad! The people in the audience, with the exception of 2 people, have no idea that they are getting rocked like nobody to this point ever has! This is an amazing song, by an even more amazing band, I just wish they were more appreciated in their time.
Maybe the best rock song ever?

Come on.
It just doesn't get more rock and roll than this.
I guess it is pretty off topic but do anyone know a good site to stream newly released series online ?
My Uncle Aaron, we lost him in Viet Nam, turned me on to the Stooges and, well...
Life changed course that moment.
What do u make of The Stooges?
Just kiddin'.
I'm 68 and rock music my main genre. How'd I miss this band
The absolute ferocity of the MC5 blows me away every time I watch this.
This is great but I love so much rambling rose at the same concert
Take me back to 1970 and witness this performance!
I'm 52 and my mum and dad got me in to these....no joke
I just can´t believe how good this is...
Shock and awe. Deer in the headlights stunned. Thank God this exists.
The most important band of late 60s.
Definitely
Brother Wayne at 3:32.
One of the greatest punk rock bands of all time

Excellent. Superb. Way ahead of their time like The Stooges. Love this song and how The Damned breathed new life into it.
i am deeply humbled by this
Phenomenal stuff..blown away!!
The sound of Ypsilanti. Heard these guys in Ann Arbor in 1970. An insane show. Wish these guys could have done a show with the Ramones.
Best show I ever saw was The Romantics, Sonic's Rendezvous Band and Ramones at Second Chance, Ann Arbor 1978.

The dude at 1:35 with long dark mullet hair has a pistol in his belt beneath his shirt. Serious times.

"maybe Im the only one who thinks about these kinda things...?"
No way honey, you're right on the money. This song is psychedelic sex, no question.

i kinda feel this is the one song he is content just to look at her, doesnt need to "kick out his jam"
there was a version with the harmonica at the beginnig, i can't find it anywhere. does anybody know please?
It's on one of those compilation CDs Sinclair and Kramer released in the 90s. Total Energy label IIRC.
The Best Fucking Band Alive.
@jetrage69 No, after General Mad Anthony Wayne.
