    You forgot to mention that there's not enough water for everybody, I live in centro and haven't got water for the last month at least

      Yes that’s an aspect I didn’t cover in this quick and simple video. This wasn’t intended to be a full guide about moving to La Paz. It was just my opinion about some things. However there are tons of variables that affect the water issue. I’m sorry to hear that!

      We live in centro and get water every four days for 7 hours. It's enough, but when they miss a day due to repairs it can get a bit tough. I'm surprised that you had a month without water. I don't think we've ever gone more than 12 days. We can always spend about 600 pesos for a water truck if we run out.

    Hey! Thanks for making this video, im a La Paz citizen, born and raised here, im glad that you enjoy our home and are able to make cons and pros, just want to make a quick feedback, local we honestly hate the name "sea of cortes" thats a very popular and internacional name of our sea (thanks to jacques Costue), but its not something that we apreciate, actually the REAL NAME is "Golfo de California" or "California's Gofl".
    Here is the reason, Cortes was an historical and conquers character, and as you may think we have some historic with him, its like our toxic ex hahahaha we cant forget about it but that doesnt mean he own our sea.

      @@adventureswith_alexa thanks for respond! It's ok don't worry, all the Américas have been trough the struggles of the european conquers in the XVII century and some of us we still are figthing in our socities with the consecuencias of it. Example USA and all the racism or here in México with all the classism.
      Cortes wasnt a villain, it was just a conquer in that time, but that doesnt mean that he own our sea, like the implaides.

    lack of activities is not really a con if you want to relax. ask yourself what you do most days of your life even in fancy places- its the same everywhere. however, meeting up socially with people or seminars, etc.. could be somewhat limited, I give you that.

    • @adventureswith_alexa
      @adventureswith_alexa  4 месяца назад +2

      I mean yeah I understand. I made this video from my personal point of view of course. I do like to relax but not 24/7 so personally I would prefer more options. Especially since I work from home I would like a variety of things to get out of the house and do more than just relax. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 😊

    How is the la paz weather compared to el paso weather?

    • @adventureswith_alexa
      @adventureswith_alexa  2 месяца назад +3

      It’s dryer in La Paz getting less rain overall than El Paso in general. At times, it feels more humid because of the proximity to the ocean. But definitely a desert climate like El Paso.

    • @markplimsoll
      @markplimsoll Месяц назад

      @@adventureswith_alexa Illogical. "Feels more humid because of proximity of water." It feels exactly like West Texas because the air holds no water. (From Del Rio)

    Good job on the video. You made the beaches seem more commercialized than I find them. It isn't like people go there to rent banana boats or take boat rides or even to kayak. Mostly, beaches are for family picnics. The city is growing; almost 300,000 people now. The traffic has become horrendous. I hate to drive across town and the bus service is for locals only and crowded (i.e. you need to know your way around). The comment section is very telling. Locals are tired of Gringos. They blame us for the increased costs (double in five years), but a study of economics would prove it isn't the Gringos driving prices. Once you've done the touristy things, La Paz is for retired-like living. Definitely not for the young. The airport is close and other parts of Mexico are cheap. The International airport is two hours away.

    • @adventureswith_alexa
      @adventureswith_alexa  3 дня назад

      Thank you for watching! Haha, yeah, I've noticed that about the beaches. I mean, they do have those things, but I don't think I've ever seen them be used. Maybe the jetskis, but other than that, not really. Like everything in La Paz (except for driving), it's pretty laid-back. The traffic can be scary at times. We don't drive, but Didis are always a fun experience 😅 I can respect that some locals think that way about foreigners because many come here with a vacation mentality but yeah there's more to it than that. I appreciate your feedback

    Hello, Alexa! Greetings from Guadalajara. This city, can be fun (the nightlife is amazing) but I honestly don’t like the chaos, and the negativity, of the big city. So, I’m also looking for a smaller place. I’m also bilingual. Are there a lot of job opportunities in La Paz? I’d like to know. This city seems like a beautiful-quieter place to live.
    On a different subject, I’d like to say that I give you credit for being sensitive to adjusting to the culture, in general, and for not “gentrifying.” Many other bloggers don’t care (They just want views and subscribers). All the same. Thanks for this video. Subscribed. 👍🙋🏻‍♂️

      Thanks for watching! I honestly can’t speak to that as I haven’t pursued employment here. I do know there is a certain negative perception of foreigners taking local opportunities from the locals as opposed to working remotely. But honestly you’d just have to look into it ahead of time.
      Thank you for your kind words! 😊

    ❤❤ Beautifully done video. Can't miss when in Coromuel!
    La Paz has NO CULTURE.
    I was in Los Cabos when Chente, Vicente Fernandez died and nobody noticed.
    Baja California Sur listens to Rock in English from the 70s and 80s, from the USA's non-dancing WASP culture, and NO BAR IN LA PAZ HAS A DANCE FLOOR.
    La Paz (city) had a Festival of Dance and the person teaching Bachata had no idea, leading about forty enthusiastic students into a confusion of weird steps and awkward arm flailings. Maybe he was the mayor's nephew ...
    Interesting snorkeling in the Bay of Illusion (La Paz is NOT on the Sea of Cortez) but few take advantage of the nearby coral, schools of fish, occasional octopus nest or turtle, and seeing rhe seasonal variation in seaweed, along with the thermocline of cool water around eight feet deep.
