This helped me a bunch, thanks for making this. I had a few questions though, did the paint bleed through or appear on the back of the sheet for 200 or 300 gsm?
Hey, thanks a ton for watching 😇 For 200 gsm the paint does bleed a bit if you are heavy on water, on 300 gsm it rarely bleeds even if u use a lot of water. Happy Painting 😇😇

Yes you can if you are just a beginner, if you want to create extremely professional looking paintings, i would advice you to go for 300 gsm watercolor paper
@@fearlessofficial1349 For regular watercolor paintings I suggest you go for 300 gsm as 200 gsm is difficult to handle and doesn’t hold water very well. If you are going with acrylics then 200 gsm is good for normal paintings too.
But according to the expert's advice for beginners it is very convenient to use cartridge paper of 140gsm for practice purpose.. And the most important fact to make watercolour paintings on cartridge paper is to maintain the right amount of water each and every time...and don't rush over it. Otherwise it will rip out... Btw This practice also improves your watercolour skills.. So Notprinter paper but 130-140 gsm paper also good to go for beginners... If there was way to send you the images in comment section then i would have sent some of my paintings that i've made on cartridge paper
Agreed, but the cartridge paper is not meant to hold on to water, you can use it for other mediums but for watercolors, it just makes things very difficult especially when you are a beginner and just getting to know how much water is enough etc. But I agree with you its good for beginners, but I just feel and have tried a lot of papers and found they just make things really difficult and crush the confidence for watercolor users. I only have printed paper and i am very cheap so i guess so i have to use it. Any tips for painting on printed paper

I just got a new sketchbook, and it’s 135 gsm :( I forgot to check the gsm b4hand, so I guess I just have to use it now
You can start with the 135gm one snd you will get a better understanding of how the paper handles water… all the best for your creative journey🤘

That's good for practicing, but if you want better result, you need good quality watercolor papers.

Yes you can, just ensure the paper is not too textured or too smooth, a little bit of texture will help the oil pastels to move perfectly
