    This and other product links below are affiliate links and I may small commission on them. I've personally tested this product on the XCEED and highly recommend them for their quality, they have the carabiner clips, and their length suits this machine well. These bands measure 54 inches long (56inches if you count the 2 carabiner clips). I've tested shorter bands that were 46 inches and they were too short. The ideal band length for the XCEED would be 50-52 inches. The handles that come with them are mediocre, but serviceable. More premium handles (amzn.to/44wSxxf & amzn.to/46rzhTD) are inexpensive and also worth a look.

    My father and I have used the Bowflex machines since the mid 90's it has never steered us wrong. We stopped using them for a while (at least the power rods) due to lack of resistance. Resistance bands were not so easy to find in our area and the bowflex was at max, so we just used weights. Fast forward to today and my father had the idea to add resistance to his 30 year old bowflex machine by using resistance bands like what you have here. I'm a pretty reasonable built guy so I definitely need more resistance than what is normally available with a bowflex. Thanks for this video!

    I took the 200lb resistance band set, used the ankle straps and wrapped them around the lat tower cross bars near the pulley on my x2 SE, fed the bands through the loops where they can hang down and easily be attached to the hooks. I much prefer the look of the grey bands as they match the Bowflex, but the colored ones would make finding both ends a lot faster.

    Thank you for this recommendation and thank you for the link to buying the right bands. I would rather keep working out at home; the time I save driving back and forth to a gym, can be dedicated to further strengthening and sculpting my deltoids.

    Just got a Bowflex Ultimate 2 for free, but found the included "310lbs" of resistance wasn't that challenging. I was going to order the upgrade to take it to "410lbs" but this is much cheaper and seems to be the better option!

    Amazon sells protective sleeves for resistance bands that protect them from wear and tear. They might be just the things to stop your bands from rubbing up against the machine.

      I haven't tested the ones with nylon casing with this model. I didn't care for them with the flat bench variants, but I may have rules then out prematurely....or maybe what you're thinking might be even better!

    I have an older model and added bands for some exercises. Be creative and find a way to attach them. I also think they smooth out the resistance curve in a good way. I just use loop bands but there are ways to attach any type of band.

    • @NorEEzta
      @NorEEzta Год назад +1

      I used a u-bolt on the lat tower where the curve begins. Attached a carabiner on that backside of the bolt and routed tube bands through it with carabiners on the ends. Attached the ends to the rod hooks. Not only did it add weight, it took the slack out of the beginning of the movement.

    I just purchased a very nice used Xceed and I have started watching your videos. They are excellent. I have a question on adding the resistance bands. Is it literally if you add a 40lb band it will increase the weight by 40lb? What have you found out? Thank you!

    • @BowflexWorkouts
      @BowflexWorkouts  9 месяцев назад

      Yep, it's pretty close. Depends on the bands, but yeah. Keep in mind you're stretching that 40lb band twice--once on each side. Each side isn't going to be 40, together it is. Also, with bands, the further you stretch them, the more the resistance. So it peaks around 40lb

      I haven't snapped any bands with this design, but it's not impossible. Bands are more likely to tear than snap and when they do, it's not like a wild ricochet.

      I think you mean they are a ripoff. "Knockoff" means an unauthorized and lower quality copy of the original product. "Ripoff" means a product that is more expensive than it should be.
