I have a Do-It Essential Gary Yamamoto senko mold. Cost was $45. I cut some rods to put in and do core shots. It works just fine. I do the same thing with the Essential rage tail mold. It is not necessary to have a dedicated core shot mold.
Totally agree. I did the same thing with my Do-It Senko mold as well. In fact, I try to core shot most my baits and did a video on coreshotting the Preybait.
I never ever ever put baits directly into water or do the water bath. It weakens the bait. Or did you mean did I put the rods in water because I would never do that either? I pull the rods as soon as the worm itself comes out.
Baits are dented regardless of cooling or how long they sit. I do the cores around 350. Only solution to the dents is stand there and keep pressure on them for over 20 seconds or so and even then I have had them dent. I think it’s just a poor design.
Tons on Facebook, you just have to search them out. One of the most reputable is Bait Maker Mold Trade. They require you to post the pic of the mold with your name and date on it along with recommending PayPal Goods and Services. Good bunch of peeps on there, no hate, and good moderators.
Cool video. I been waiting for someone to do this type of review.
Thanks! I have a lot of them done up.
Awesome review! Thanks!

How’s the width of these compared to a yum?
I really have no idea. I haven’t bought a bag of plastics from anyone in almost 5 years. Sorry!
How long did you let them cool with the rods still in?? Did you drop them in water after pulling them out??

Yah the bait bath... haha.. but maybe letting the baits cool a bit more before pulling the rods? And how hit do you do the core? Over 350?

I don’t shoot any plastisol below 310, coreshots I push the core at 340-350 so it can reach end of cavity before setting up mid way through
