She has watched go go dancers from 60’s and has mastered a long lost art. My hat is off to young lady and to the guys for a brilliant performance!
Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for the kind words!
Go go dancing wasn't happening in 1962 when this song came out though, it wasn't until about 1966 or 1967 but yes she does a good job!
@@egrogan6482 Sorry -1958 Peppermint Lounge, NYC. Please try again...
This is the Anthem for the Space Age. ❤😢😊
She's definitely got the 60's dance moves down.
No she doesn't. Not even close. We didn't dance like that back in the sixties.
Who cares? She was fabulous.
Without a doubt! She'd have been right at home on Carnaby Street in the 60's...... although she probably doesn't even remember the 80's! This is great, but it's just missing that organ.....
@@djsc0948 Funny seem like what I saw when I was 14 or 15, but I was only there!
Great job guys and kudos to the young lady 👏
The girl dancing brilliant 👍
Very well done, and it looks like the go-go dancer was having fun.
She couldn't dance for toffee.
Great job guys (and doll).
The dancer 100% nails that 60s vibe. Great playing too,
love the dancer very 60s
True Story: When I was young kid aged 10 living England as my dad was stationed there my parents took me to carnival near Oxford where a young English girl and I fell in love, and we went on a couple of rides together. That moment in time changed my life and this song was playing at time. I could not remember the name of song, band or the girl so for 40 years have been looking for this song which has haunted me as it was my first time, I was in love, so it stuck my youth's conscious mind. Best time in my life. Someone actually liked me.
Glad you found love! At age 72, I have lost it, but still love my high school sweetheart who is married to another!🤢
The song made the moment … trust me. This is a haunting song.
Love!
You haven't seen her forty years.... but she's here tonight
Gary simpson' like you and everyone who replied to you i met a girl at a young age n really i thought it would last a life time had her name tattood on my arm ' dad went nuts' it didn't last . Went a long time n met a woman who i married lasted 30ish years got a girlfriend now but still got my first loves name on my arm's bumped in to her at a country fair n a woman came up to me n said remember me we hugged n cried n walked away.she bought me this single telstar yes still got it n wow this group got it n the woman dancing oh yes how good would it really sound with a vintage organ playing along side th x to all for the memories.
Great band, great dancer!! You guys nailed it.
Amazing performance all of you, that talented Bass, Cool drum, great feeling by Guitar and Fascinating dance by a Lady 👏Thank you
Amazing! This shows what you can do with just the bare bones, bass, drum and guitar. Bravo!
Love ya!Thanks!
You guys are AWESOME! I have not enjoyed a video as yours in such a long time. You sounded terrific and put a smile on my face that I still cant get off. Kudos on a job well done. Entertaining as all hell. I have played for over 55 years so please know how much you are appreciated.
Thank you so much!
Who, teleported, lovely 60s,gogo dancer.
Amazing :) made my day.
great sound , awesome performance,Gentlemen...and the lovely lady moves perfect !
This chick got it goin on. Man does she know the 60's moves. Good on her!
She's a fun dancer, but none of those moves are from the '60's.
TOTALLY AWESOME!
The girl dancer is awesome, I could watch her all day !!
...wish I'd been there!!
GOD DAMNED WONDERFUL... FROM aussie land.... luv ya gutzs.
BONZA.
Back at ya, Thanks so much
Great version with guitar and beautiful girl dancing agogo style
Joe Meek's finest moment. One of two Brit hits that charted in the USA before the Fabs showed up.
The pretty dancing girl was the icing on the cake, well done!
Awww - that was beautiful!!!1
Groovy - far out man - give me Warp 7 Mr. Zulu!
What sound is the percussionist making with his mouth towards the microphone
Fantastic cover! and yer GoGo Girl adds the perfect ambiance to this tune! Thanks so much!!!
I love that girl 🤩💃🏾💃🏾go go's.. dance
This is awesom Guys !!!! Love all Your Videos, and your dancer is like the cherry on top !! Boy , ist's 2023 and the Shadows, Ventures....Still live in Your sound !!!
I loved This! In 1966, during the space race, when I was in the 4th grade at Glasgow AFB, MT, Miss Roadigger brought her record player to school and played this song for the class. She thought it was so cool and revolutionary with the electric guitar and all. She was right!
Now, I'd like to know the name of the elder care facility this group is going to. You see, I'd like to go there, too so we can all blast off into the next dimension with this tune playing... when the time comes.😉
Mr. Meek would be proud! 👏
Thank you so much Vaughn!
Go Go Girl! Nice touch! Well done all around!
Fantastic Telstar cover. One of my favorite instrumental hits of all time from my birth year 1962 . These Guys should cut a 45rpm record and become famous. They are talented Surf guitar style instrumentalists. The Tornadoes would be so proud too! Please play at the Huntington Beach Surf Museum in a concert at Huntington Beach, California otherwise known as Surf City!
Thank you so much!
Great guitar playing and thanks for posting!
Nice cover. Love your dancer with the mini skirt and go-go boots. That’s quintessential 60’s.
Awesome performance gents. Adding the go-go dancer was genius - very period correct.
i think go go dancers were more in the late 60's, then again i can easily be wrong
Thank you very much!
This is brilliant. I love the wall of sound, your jackets, the cool guitars, the pretty lady, etc. Your playing the best music ever, real music.
That was so good! Well done, you made a lot of smiles.
Composed by Robert George "Joe" Meek who was an English record producer, musician, sound engineer and songwriter who pioneered space age and experimental pop music. He also assisted in the development of recording practices like overdubbing, sampling and reverberation. Performed by The Tornadoes in 1962
Joe Meek was a genius, but he was also a persecuted and prosecuted closeted gay man, who eventually killed his landlady and himself with a borrowed shotgun, a tragic end to a tortured life.
Sadly, Joe Meek never received any royalties during his lifetime from this song as he lost the lawsuit that the song too closely resembled “Le Marche d’austerlitz.” I listened to both songs and hear similarities, but not enough to lose a lawsuit. RIP Joe. Gone too soon.
GRATITUD...
Great version. I like it. The go-go dancer adds the perefect finishing touch.
I like the retro futuristic sound blended with surf music....Thank you !
Glad you like it!
Couples would have slow-danced to this in 1962. That ‘go-go’ style of dancing demonstrated in the video came along a few years later.
Just watched you guys perform this song at the convention in Boxboro, this is my favorite version of this song!
Great band and sound, and a cracking bird 😂
Yeah! Space Surf rock!
That Vox kit's nice. A Defiant, Royal Guardsman or something
modern Valvetronix 60 watt, with original1960's 2-12" cabinet
@@tsunamiofsound3529 Clever, I wondered what the foot controller was doing plugged into a 60's amp!! (Hope you've still got the original chassis!)
When I was a 10 year-old kid in the 70's a woman down the street gave away her collection of 45's. "Telstar" was one of the records and we mimed to it over and over again, playing on my parents' hifi. What a wonderful rendition! Thank you,
Very good excellent 👍😊❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
Very good song, and I sure like the girl.
Just can’t imagine my mom was dancing like that hmm
Gave the drummer a workout! Great job!
Reliving my high-school garage band days! And the go-go dancer is the icing on the cake
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. These guys are great. And the lady dancing is spectacular!
Very good performance.
One of my all time songs.
Pure fun. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Loving the bsss players 60's head wobble
Wow!
That was great!
Bravo! Very nice! Full sound for only three instruments. Hardly miss the organ/second rhythm guitar. And I fully approve the Go Go Girl! No tambourine, no nothing but dedicated to dancing!
Maybe she sings on the vocal songs the band does.
@@altfactor Maybe, but not on this one!
Glad you like it!
She could have stepped out of the "Shindig" or "Hullabaloo" studio (two popular mid-1960's rock music TV shows that featured go-go dancers dancing along to the performers appearing on those programs), gone into a time machine, and came out of that time machine having arrived in the 2020's.
Wow! I love this video. The music is spectacular and I could watch that beautiful girl dance all day long. Just a super fun video! I looked up Tsunami of Sound and would love to see them play live in the DC area someday.
Very good.
Thanks!
Long Live Telestar🙏🕯🙏
The imperfections make it brilliantly authentic🥰
Bravo 🖖👽
This song gets stuck in my head like no other .
The original had the drummer doing double stroke rolls throughout the song. No snare at all and because of that, gave the song its unique sound.
Spectacular! Great performance of a classic! I actually had a VOX setup like the guitar player in the video, if you want that 60's sound, that's how you get it.
Cool , sounds like the ventures or shadows.
Man Mr. Bob Sanger if you guys added a saxophone player to your band you would be automatically inducted into the California Surf Music Hall of Fame. Please tour Huntington Beach Surf Festival at the Huntington Beach Pier. Wow! It would be historic, nostalgic and just plain Classic Experience. Even you guys could make it a triple whammy play Del Mar Racetrack Derby Festival in September, Then Huntington Beach Surf Museum, then finish at Santa Monica Pier. What a Surf Festival of historic proportions! All of a sudden its 1960's again. The Surf Route would be jammed with Woody Wagons and Surfers and Surfboards and girls in bikinis.
Great musicians. Perfect. Go-go dancer is obviously a time traveler.
Very well done, good people! Very well done!!!
I remember buying the original recording by the tornadoes. 60s era best ever. 😊
Brilliant love it
Whenever I hear this tune it brings me back to Saturday movie matinees where this was played before the lights when down. Memories!!!💖
😍🤩 U GO GIRL 🤩🤩
Back to the 60’s 😍
Great stuff. Bring back the micro skirt and kinky boots. BTW I still have the original 45rpm record by the Dakotas. Great sound.
Thanks for the memory ❤
Far better than the later re-recordings of it by the Tornados without Joe Meek, they lacked something
with Go-Go Girl dancing 60's steps & everythang
One of the early, satellites. Great rendition, love the dancer.
This video gives me Austin Powers vibes. Yeah, baby! 😀 👍
For some reason I always thought the Tornadoes were a European band( from the continent) Loved this song ...don't worry I've been rehabilitated.
It was one of the very 1st hits in the US by an English band
Huge world wide hit and first British solo to top the charts in USA..Fabulous 😂
Tsunanimous!
Strat into a VOX....they were made for one another.....
Nailed it !
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Joe Meek would have approved. Bravo.
You're hired!
Awesome memories guys, best years of my life. Shame it will never be the same again.🇦🇺
girls great
That was the best Telstar cover I've seen.
Curious about the venue though. Were they playing at a wedding or similar?
This was for a charity video project to raise money for local bars affected by Covid.
Hey! I just noticed there's a band!
The lady in pink is a lovely mover!
Can't like this one enough. GREAT performance. Bravo!
That vox tone 😍😍
Wonder when someone is gonna write an epic tune about SpaceX's Starlink.
Maybe when more people finally WAKE UP!!!
center flame needs to ne moved foward so dancer has full stage. then maybe 2 more sixties dance moves swim, watusi.... in dance.
